In my opinion, it’s super similar to the perfume I used to own, Jeu d’Amour l’Elixir by Kenzo. It smells like a nighttime jasmine, more in the Mugler style. Quite nocturnal, almost smoky and sweet, floral.
Good Fortune is 80% jasmine and 20% ivy, which I assume is the fennel. It’s fresh but has presence; it’s not a super sweet or sun-drenched jasmine, but rather a floral with green and dark touches. The concept is executed brilliantly. It’s a nocturnal floral, very easy to wear. I can imagine it in any weather (obviously not too hot) and practically any situation. Unisex-leaning feminine, really lovely. Sometimes it smells like yerba mate or oregano on my skin. This is one of those perfumes where the liquid itself doesn’t blow me away, but I absolutely love the bottle. The sphere of fortune-telling, the cap mimicking an amethyst… it’s everything I love…😭
The first time I smelled it, I didn’t like it, but definitely it has something that hooks you… it’s like a smoky jasmine, with the right touch of vanilla that sweetens it as time passes. I wouldn’t use it daily because it’s one of those that would eventually tire me out, but occasionally, yes, so I think the 30ml format is just right👌 The bottle🔮🙌

I wouldn’t use it daily because it’s one of those that would eventually tire me out personally, but now and then, yes, so I think the 30ml format is perfect 👌 The bottle 🔮🙌
Why do they keep comparing it to Mugler’s Alien? Don’t they smell the same? Sorry, Alien has its own charm. Good Fortune is powerful thanks to the Jasmine too, but it’s far from resembling Alien… beautiful presentation… I liked it, I have it, and I enjoy it…
Definitely doesn’t smell like Alien; I have the classic first one and have smelled the new one. GF is either love it or hate it. On my skin, it stood out and lasted a long time, but don’t buy it without trying it first.
A floral amber with jasmine as the absolute protagonist, almost solo. A carnal, dense, and warm jasmine. Sweet, but in just the right measure thanks to the fennel note, which is definitely present from the start, giving it a certain freshness. Although this note sometimes simulates anise in perfumes, I don’t perceive it that way on my skin. I think its contribution here, especially in the dry down, is that I perceive this vanilla-tinged jasmine with a quite aromatic character, even with a subtle green touch, but it balances the floral sweetness very well. A fairly simple and linear scent after the first hour, with an DNA that initially seems very clichéd… and indeed, I think that’s the fennel part that makes it just a little different. I see it as a feminine, sensual scent, not too mature but with some character, so not too youthful. Quite versatile for occasions and seasons. Lasts more than 8 hours on skin with moderate projection. In that sense, this house continues to not disappoint. The bottle is also noteworthy; it would look beautiful on any shelf. In summary: it’s not a unique scent but it’s pretty, high quality, and has good performance. I wouldn’t buy it because I already have several jasmine perfumes in my collection and I feel that, for now, I don’t need this one. But if you are lovers of this note, I recommend at least trying it.

It’s very rich; it feels like a well-vanillized jasmine on my skin. It’s not a sweet gourmand, but it does have its touch. On my skin, it lasts quite a while (8-10 hours) and I love it; it’s highly praised. Something I want to highlight is that it is nothing like Mugler’s Alien. Many people might go for the look of the Jasmine, but this jasmine seems very rich, just not unique. I love it💜
This perfume left me somewhat indifferent. Sure, the opening seemed delicious and pretty, with a fresh jasmine and a touch of herbal thanks to the fennel. Soon after drying down, it becomes a fresh, fairly simple jasmine with vanilla—pleasant, but it doesn’t tell a new story. It has moderate sillage and lasts about 6-7 hours on my skin. To my nose, it doesn’t remind me of Alien; it seems fresher and less heavy. Honestly, it didn’t say anything special to me, so I’m not adding it to my collection. I wish the originality of the juice had matched the bottle. Scent 5.5/10, Longevity 6.5/10, Sillage 7/10, Value 6/10, Versatility 7/10, Packaging 8/10. Would I buy again? No, I didn’t.
I won’t deny that Good Fortune is a pretty perfume, floral, fresher than intense, with a ‘different’ opening thanks to the fennel, but that’s all. After 3 minutes, it becomes very flat, predictable, without any ‘spark.’ I’m a teacher, and this fragrance makes me think of my students: they are pretty, well-mannered, and respectful, but they lack ‘pep.’ Their presentations are flat and their work predictable. They have good notes, yes, but no creativity or originality. That said, it’s perfect for someone who wants to smell pretty without being the center of attention. Or for events with lots of perfumes, like a baptism or wedding. Anyway! It left my collection for a house where all perfumes are welcome, with or without ‘pep’.
NOT FOR ME First off, I hated the opening. The fennel was suffocating; I hate that vegetable in both taste and scent. I appreciate that it’s so different, even if it’s not for me. As the fragrance settles, I still don’t like it entirely. The powdery floral note overwhelms me, reminding me of a deodorant, but better made and higher quality. Once the base with vanilla kicks in, I like it a bit more, but that powdery floral note lingers and permeates everything. It’s like it’s one step away from convincing me, and I keep thinking, ‘Next time it will work,’ but it never does. Simply not for me, though I enjoyed getting to know it. The bottle is beautiful, and the concept is great.
I was curious about this perfume, especially since my best friend loves jasmine and I was looking for recommendations. From the first spray, you could tell it was jasmine, but heavily powdery, almost like it had incense. A few hours in, the vanilla made it feel a bit cloying. Honestly, this isn’t something I would buy; it just doesn’t grab my attention.
It’s a really beautiful perfume. I’d be lying if I said it’s something special, but that it’s beautiful, it’s BEAUTIFUL. I decided to keep it in my collection when my boyfriend complimented it on the first spray, and it’s rare for him to praise a perfume. It’s a gorgeous bottle and the scent lasts for quite a few hours. Longevity is about 6 hours. Sillage: moderate to low. But hey… it has vanilla and you know the magic this note has as it develops: maceration. The tester in the store already had a golden color with purple hues… so it smelled super pretty and intense of vanilla. I think it’s a gift you can give perfectly blind, and just seeing that bottle and picking it up to use it makes you smile huge.
It’s a gorgeous perfume. If I say it’s special, I’m lying, but if I say it’s beautiful, it IS beautiful. I added it to my collection because my boyfriend stole a spray on the first try, and it’s super rare for him to compliment a scent. The bottle is pretty, and the longevity is decent—about 6 hours. The sillage is moderate to low. But hey, it has vanilla, and you know the magic of that note with maceration: the tester in the store already had a golden hue with purple undertones, so it smelled incredibly beautiful and intense. I think it’s a perfect blind gift, and just looking at that bottle and wearing it gives you a huge smile.
Hi everyone! Well, to be honest, I didn’t expect anything from this perfume because I don’t like this house at all, but I got a mini sample with a purchase I made at Sephora, and I was excited to try it. I thought about transferring it to a travel atomizer, but it’s not worth it to dirty my pocket atomizer, I think that says it all. The scent is pleasant and simple, the kind of smell I’d expect from a catalog perfume and not from this house; you can smell a sweetish jasmine and fennel. It has no fixation, no sillage, and no charm for me, sorry to those who like it. Conclusion: a light and pleasant perfume, perfect for grocery shopping, going to mass, or funerals due to its poor performance, but can you imagine spending what it costs to use it in these scenarios? In itself, the perfume doesn’t smell bad, but it costs too much for what it offers; I think a body mist has nothing to envy and might last and project more.
Good Fortune came to me via a swap; honestly, if not for that, I wouldn’t have it in my collection. I tested it many times in perfumeries because the bottle looks gorgeous, but it never quite grabbed me, and I always ended up buying something else. Now that I’ve worn it exclusively for three days in a row, I can say it has its little charm. Incredibly, it lasts quite a bit on skin, which didn’t happen with any of the V&R ones, so that’s a plus. It doesn’t have much sillage; it projects a few centimeters from the skin, but its fixation is good. It’s a herbal, sweet nighttime jasmine without being cloying. The fennel note makes the difference, no doubt, because jasmine-vanilla combos are overused in perfumery, a combination that personally bores me. But here, the fennel and the gentian—which I have no idea how it smells, but I guess it’s that note I smell and don’t recognize—is what makes the difference and gives it that mysterious, nocturnal touch.
With this perfume I discovered that the note that gives me a headache is jasmine. At first, it seemed sparkling, vanilla-floral, I thought vanilla would prevail, but no, it was the jasmine that was piercing all day and gave me a terrible headache. Something similar happened with My Way… It has great longevity and sillage, but the scent isn’t that impactful, though not unpleasant; however, ultimately it’s not for me.
With this perfume, I discovered that the note that gives me a headache is jasmine 😞. At its opening, it seemed sparkly, vanilla-tinged floral; I thought the vanilla note would prevail, but no, it was the jasmine that pricked me all day and brought me a terrible headache. Something similar happened with My Way… It has very good longevity and sillage, in terms of scent it’s not that impactful but it’s not unpleasant, however, ultimately it’s not for me.
Normally, intense jasmine bothers me. But, wow… I bought a travel size of this back in 2022… I took it out two years later (today), and the juice is a different color! And what a bomb! Maybe my nose has changed. But, going with what I feel: it has an intense opening, then quickly turns into a light spice, you crash into a wall of jasmine, and the dry down is super marked vanilla. The fennel is felt a lot; it’s an anise-like note; it gives it a fresh-elegant touch. It’s as elegant as Gucci Elixir de Parfum pour Femme (I consider both interestingly unisex). I’m not sure if I’d buy the full bottle… V&R has niche perfume prices. Although it’s a well-executed fragrance. They say it’s “the child” of Alien and My Way. Could it be? Maybe. The longevity on skin is muuuy good. I shower and I still smell like vanilla-tinged white flowers (after 1 year of maceration). It lasts more than 12 hours on skin. Even for this review, I used it on my hand, washed dishes, and the scent is still there.
Even letting it macerate for over two and a half years didn’t quite wake it up for me… I bought the original at the Macy’s in Atlanta.
Normally, I’m turned off by intense jasmine, but wow… I bought a travel size in 2022 and finally opened it two years later; the juice is a totally different color and what a bomb. Maybe my nose has changed, but what I’m getting is an intense opening that turns into a light spice, colliding with a wall of jasmine, with vanilla being very prominent. Fennel is super noticeable, an anise note that gives it a fresh-elegant touch. It’s as elegant as the Gucci Elixir de Parfum pour Femme; I consider both interestingly unisex. I’m not sure if I’d buy the big bottle… V&R has niche perfume prices. Although it’s a well-crafted fragrance. They say it’s the child of Alien and My Way, right? Maybe. The longevity on skin is muuuy good; I shower and I still smell like white, vanilla flowers after a year of maceration, lasting over 12 hours on skin. Even for this review I wore it on my hand, washed the dishes, and the scent is still there.
I tried it as soon as it hit the market because the advertising looked pretty and different… But everything about it except the perfume itself is disappointing.
I tried it today and have to say it reminds me of Alien due to the jasmine explosion, but here it’s wrapped in a shy vanilla that gets completely eaten up. What I smell most is pure sugar, lots of sugar enveloping the jasmine. If you love super sweet florals, you’ll adore this perfume.
A perfume that you either hate or love; I absolutely love it. I already bought a refill because I think it’s being discontinued, which is sad for all of us who adore it. Is it more of the same? Maybe, but it has beastly longevity and projection. It’s mystical yet modern, empowered yet ethereal. If you’re in an urban goddess mood, this is your scent.
Something weird happened with this scent. When I first tried it, I was fascinated and couldn’t stop smelling my wrist; it was addictive. I ended up going back to the store and buying it on sale. But when I started wearing it again, it felt uncomfortable. It’s not unpleasant, just odd, like it doesn’t quite fit me. I think it’s the fennel note that throws me off. I’ll give it another try sometime.
Something very strange happened with this fragrance. When I tested it, I was fascinated and couldn’t stop smelling my wrist; it was addictive. In the end, I decided to go back to the store and buy it while taking advantage of the sale. Well, when I’ve worn it again, it has felt uncomfortable to me. It doesn’t reach being unpleasant, but it feels weird, like it just doesn’t quite fit. I think it might be the fennel note that feels strange to me. I’ll try giving it another chance.
This is the 2025 perfume that fits my mom and me like a glove. It’s jasmine, my favorite flower, with a green, bitter twist that smells like homemade Coca-Cola. Perfect for the hot, humid days here. It’s super long-lasting, sweet, and fresh; it has that alien vibe that makes it stand out from predictable scents. Wearing it makes me feel comfortable in my authenticity, embracing the quirks that make me unique, and keeps me active without being overpowering—just relaxed, cheerful, and inspired to show up as my true self without holding back. It’s been incredibly special for both of us because smelling the same has bonded us during turbulent times, reminding me that even though I’m independent, I’m still her daughter and part of her. The bottle looks like a witch’s potion with an amethyst cap, the stone of relaxation, and the liquid is violet, our favorite color. I recommend it to girls of any age who want to highlight their individuality without losing themselves. Reply to comments: try it at different stages of your menstrual cycle. It’s common for scents to smell different depending on the day; for me, some perfumes get amplified during ovulation and bring out your best side thanks to hormones 💕🍀
