It stings a bit at first due to the pink pepper, but once it dries down, it’s amazing… it’s sweet, not gourmand at all, intense but not disgusting. Without a doubt, one of the best dry-downs I’ve ever tried.
UPDATE: The trail is strong for the first two hours and then drops to moderate, but the longevity is beastly. I wore it at 10 PM for dinner and could still smell it with my movements at 3 PM the next day. I’m totally hooked, and for me, it’s the best of the three Fame scents. It’s summer right now, and I wore it at night where it fit perfectly; I think the only requirement is that you wear it at night, and it can be worn year-round. By the way, you can detect a bit of coconut, and the mango is toned down, giving it a cleaner, less tropical feel. It could be slightly related to Versace’s Crystal Noir. My husband absolutely loved it.
Am I being cheap because of the bottle, or am I just getting what I pay for? Whatever you think! But how good this perfume smells and how sexy it is, we can’t ignore. Ever since I smelled the first Fame, I couldn’t stop thinking about it, so I grabbed the Intense version, though I could have picked any of the others—I don’t know why. The combination of mango, jasmine, and frankincense creates a fragrance that is literally a party. It makes you want to dance, have fun, and conquer the night, even though I don’t go out much. Hahaha. I’ll update with the trail and longevity later.
At first spray, it smells heavily of incense. A lot. It stays that way for three hours, and then suddenly the mango note appears, very noticeable (which is surprising since it’s not listed in the notes). Yes, it resembles the original Fame, but this one is much better. This one actually has the creaminess the original lacked; it’s much less synthetic and lasts and projects wonderfully. But it’s really strange that it doesn’t smell like what it’s supposed to contain… it makes me suspicious. I don’t know. How can it smell so much like incense at first, only to disappear and give way to other notes you don’t expect? It’s like you changed perfumes; you put one on, and suddenly it smells like something totally different. I don’t get it.
That olfactory pyramid and those notes are all made up. It smells like the same thing: the mango from the first Fame with a minimal variation. Out of all the flankers launched so far, the one in the black dress bottle is the only one worth it. The others are redundant unless you’re a collector of identical bottles in different colors with the same scent. Can anyone explain where they find the salty note to buy it with Olympea or Pure XS? 😳
