  • Natural oud is very expensive. There are two ways to get it: injecting a tree with a fungus so it secretes the substance (cheaper) or waiting for a tree to produce it naturally (more expensive and with a different scent). Then there’s the lab synthesis method which is the most used I suppose 90% or more. Similarly authentic oud is one of the most expensive ingredients in the industry.

  • Life gives you surprises. I’ve spent a year bashing Zara colognes for being mediocre with exceptions like Cedar Wood. But this Oud and Tobacco are very good. It’s a clean woody oud with a slight smoky note without mixing in flowers which I appreciate. It reminds me of Comme des Garçons’ Wonderwood and 2 Man but without the aldehydes of the latter. I mixed it with 2 Man and the Zara Oud won on projection. Oud lovers won’t despise it but if you don’t like the ingredient don’t even try it.

  • Life loves to surprise you. I’ve been bashing Zara colognes as mediocre for a year, with exceptions like Cedar Wood, but this Oud and Tobacco is fantastic. It’s a clean, woody oud with a slight smoky touch, without the floral mix I dislike. Reminds me of Comme des Garçons Wonderwood and 2 Man, but without the aldehydes of the latter. Mixing it with 2 Man makes the Zara Oud shine in projection. Oud lovers won’t disdain it, but if you hate the ingredient, don’t even try it.

  • I didn’t trust this Zara fragrance much now that everyone is jumping on the oud bandwagon (even Axe!) but I tested it in the store and… bingo. I was thrilled and haven’t worn anything else since. It’s an oud-forward scent without mixing in rose which is a relief. It’s a non-crude oud in the Western taste leaning towards wood with little medicinal note featuring tobacco and smoky accords. The result is refined and addictive. They say it resembles Armani’s Oud Royal but I’m not sure. It smells expensive (€17) and distinguished. The sillage is good and the projection is correct not invasive. It surprised me and I recommend buying it. Rating: 9/10.

  • No need to say more; the previous reviews explain it all. It’s a bright, cheerful, sexy oud with a slight but clean medicinal touch, ambrosial and sharp without being intrusive. Smells like Parisian orientalism from the good old days, unisex without complexes. Starts bubbly, camphoraceous, with exotic fruits and sweet tobacco. As it evolves, the wood settles, sometimes reminding me of Comme des Garçons’ 2 Man, though to me it leans more toward M7 with less sweetness. At €17, it feels sparkling and rebellious. Initial projection is strong, duration acceptable. The bottle is ugly and the sprayer poor, but the contents forgive any marketing flaws. Arrived via mail as a great surprise.

No need to say more; the previous reviews explain everything. It’s a bright cheerful and sexy oud with a slight but clean medicinal touch ambrosiac and sharp without being invasive. It smells like Parisian orientalism from its golden years—a confident unisex scent. It starts bubbly camphoraceous with exotic fruits and sweet tobacco. As it evolves the wood settles sometimes reminding me of Comme des Garçons’ 2 Man though to me it leans more toward M7 with less sweetness. At €17 it feels sparkly and rebellious. The initial projection is strong and the longevity is acceptable. The bottle is ugly and the sprayer is poor but the content forgives any marketing flaws. It arrived by mail and was a great surprise.

  • After testing ‘Rich Warm Addictive’ with sky-high expectations and getting overwhelmed, I approached this one with lowered expectations just in case. But after trying it… I walked away with a bottle. I can’t say anything that my fellow reviewers haven’t already said; I can only add: WOW! WOW! WOW! There were moments it reminded me of Monotheme’s Amber Wood, even though they don’t share notes, but that’s what came to mind while testing it, specifically in the opening. The opening of this perfume is another world entirely. Longevity and sillage worthy of much more expensive perfumes; I have no complaints. I liked it a lot, recommend at least giving it a sniff. It doesn’t disappoint. I hope Zara continues to release perfumes like this at this price point.

  • I don’t know where you guys can buy it, but I visited two Zara stores in Madrid and another in Ciudad Real, and they didn’t have it. They didn’t even know about it.

  • Inspired by your comments, I went to Zara yesterday to see if I could find it. I found it and bought it. I’ve tried countless oud fragrances in search of one to replace my beloved YSL M7, but I still haven’t found it… In my opinion, this fragrance might have more guaiac wood than oud, though it could have both; certainly, its oud is very, very subtle. It reminded me quite a bit of Guerlain’s L’Homme Ideal Eau de Parfum. I detect the same almond and cherry or medicinal syrup scent, along with a certain incense and tonka nuance. Maybe it’s just my perception, but it feels like a less sweet, more woody version of L’Homme Ideal with the same base. It’s an excellent fragrance that pleasantly surprises at Zara, though it suffers from sillage, ranging from moderate (less than an hour) to skin-only (after an hour of application). I imagine that, like many fragrances, over-applying would yield better sillage results. The longevity is considerable; last night I applied it to my hand before bed, and nine hours later, if I press my nose against it, it still smells faintly. Should I recommend buying it? Considering its price and where you can get it, yes. Personally, I was quite pleasantly surprised by this fragrance. Since rating is the trend now, I’ll say: Rating: 8/10.

  • Zara Exclusive Oud’s description is brief and disappointing. I detect rose, saffron, patchouli, oud, vanilla, and tonka bean. Its placement in the woody oriental family is perfect. It evokes essences from the Emirates like Rasasi and Al Haramain, even some Amouage. This is my type: oriental, woody, spicy, deep, mysterious, voluptuous, sensual, smoky, and tobacco-laden. Discretion isn’t my virtue, and this perfume delivers. High quality with perfect balance and excellent evolution, nothing to envy from designer or niche ouds. It’s not thick or overly spicy. I’ve smelled Dubai ouds that immerse you in a market of black olives with cumin, cloves, turmeric, saffron, pepper, oregano, cilantro, cinnamon, paprika, tobacco, smoke, vinegar… Zara’s is Westernized, sweetened, ambered, and wrapped in French boudoir packaging. Elegant and sophisticated, in the line of Shalimar or L’Instant. No need to seek niche ouds at astronomical prices. Why bother when we have this affordable option? Scent: wonderful. Sillage: moderate-high. Longevity: high. Performance: high. Price-to-quality: excellent. Use: night/winter.

  • The brief description on the EXCLUSIVE OUD card at Zara is a bit disappointing. While it’s true this perfume doesn’t feature many notes, I personally detect rose, saffron, patchouli, oud, vanilla, and tonka bean. Its placement in the woody oriental family is perfect. It reminds me of a wide range of essences from Rasasi and Al Haramain in the UAE, and I’ve even heard some Amouage bottles repeat these notes exactly. I have to admit, this is the kind of olfactory family that works for me: oriental, woody, spicy, deep, mysterious, powerful, voluptuous, sensual, smoky, tobacco-like… you get the point. Olfactory discretion isn’t one of my virtues, and Zara’s EXCLUSIVE OUD fits the bill perfectly. I consider it a high-quality fragrance with a perfectly balanced aromatic profile; its top, heart, and base notes are expertly crafted and have nothing to envy from designer or niche ouds. It’s not a thick or overly spicy oud. I’ve heard of Dubai ouds I love that plunge you into a market of black olives marinated with cumin, clove, turmeric, saffron, pepper, oregano, cilantro, cinnamon, paprika, tobacco, smoke, vinegar, and who knows what else. The EXCLUSIVE OUD from Zara is Westernized, sweetened, ambered, and wrapped in French boudoir packaging. It’s elegant and sophisticated, sitting on the ideological line of Shalimar or L’Instant. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying it shares the same notes, but rather that the aura of elegance and bouquet is right there! There’s no need to hunt for niche or designer ouds at astronomical prices. Why bother when we have this fragrance so affordable? Scent: wonderful, right up my alley for oriental notes. Sillage: moderate to high. Longevity: high. Performance: high. Price-to-quality ratio: excellent. Usage: night/winter.

  • Very good fragrance from Zara; the oud feels strong and stands out among the other notes. The sillage is quite modest, though, just like almost all Zara fragrances, but at those prices, you can afford to reapply as many times as you want.

  • A perfume that comes with a tester, little more, because it’s unavailable—it’s a shame. It’s a great fragrance; believe me, Zara created this jewel, and I’m left with only that 3ml tester to smell…

  • This Exclusive Oud is tremendously good for the price. If I had to define it in three words: woody, spicy, and warm. More than oud, I detect Gaia wood integrated with a good dose of saffron and cinnamon. Definitely, there’s also a sweet note; I’m torn between vanilla and tonka bean, leaning toward the former. The perfume has a slight medicinal/balsamic hint, reminiscent of the feeling YSL’s M7 evokes. Honestly, on skin, it’s incredibly warm and seductive. Although I don’t like attributing human traits to perfumes, it undoubtedly has an air of mystery because no designer fragrance smells quite like it. Well, I lied, there is one: Oud Royale by Armani Privé, but it’s rarely encountered. The performance is fantastic—8 hours on skin without flinching, with about 2 hours of projection. Frankly, it’s a joy to wear.

  • Zara, please bring it back!!! It was an excellent alternative for oud lovers. Unbeatable price-to-quality ratio. Those woody oriental scents were executed beautifully, with great longevity and projection without being intrusive. I really hope Zara re-releases it in their upcoming launches; it’s deeply missed.

  • Zara, please bring it back. It was an excellent alternative for oud lovers. Unbeatable price-to-quality ratio. That woody oriental scent is masterfully crafted, with great longevity and projection without being intrusive. I hope Zara reissues it soon; it’s truly missed.

  • Zara Exclusive Oud. Worth it, I’ve had it since day one but hesitated to review it, hoping Zara would re-release it to avoid disappointing anyone who couldn’t buy it again. But seeing no plans to bring it back, I sat down to rediscover it and share my thoughts. It hits like a saffron bomb, adding a warm, animalic touch right at the nose. The oud comes through quickly, initially masked by the saffron, but gradually takes center stage, supported by sweet notes—what I think is vanilla, caramel, and a chocolate-like patchouli. It’s a quality jewel, infinitely better than its price point; it could easily pass as niche. No clashing notes or off-key accords; everything blends perfectly. A true Zara gem that’s sadly discontinued. In my tests, I found a resemblance to my latest perfume love, which I’ll review soon. The performance is beastly; it lasts 16 hours on skin without issue. Projects strongly for the first 6 hours with a powerful sillage; once I applied it (4 sprays), I could smell it on everyone until I boarded the bus. I recommend it only for winter and night, as it has a mysterious, dark aura begging for nocturnal wear. I see it as more masculine than feminine, but everyone should try it—it works well on female skin if you enjoy this style. • Zara Exclusive Oud. I’ve had it since launch but stayed silent, waiting for a re-release to avoid tempting people who can’t buy it. Since Zara seems to have discontinued it, I decided to rediscover it. The opening is a saffron bomb with leather and animalic nuances. Gradually, the oud takes over, accompanied by sweet notes, vanilla, caramel, and a chocolatey patchouli. It’s top quality, superior to its price, could easily pass as niche. No off-putting spikes, everything blends perfectly. A discontinued gem. Lasts 16 hours on skin; projects strongly for the first 6 hours—I once smelled like it on the whole bus. Best for winter and night, with a mysterious aura. Seems more masculine, but skin chemistry varies. For more reviews, check my Instagram and YouTube.
