9.0 Zara by Zara

I’ve been wearing this since November 2020, and it’s an absolute hit. I bought it in a pack with the 8.0 for my dad, but I ended up keeping it since he said it smelled too feminine for him. The longevity and sillage on my bottle are top-notch. What really sticks with me is the iris, citrus, cardamom, and amber notes. It’s very elegant and tasteful. It’s a shame it’s no longer in Zara’s catalog.

Excellent fragrance, absolutely delicious scent, wow. What I noticed the most was the iris, cardamom, and amber. I got tons of compliments. Its only downside is the projection, but not every perfume needs to be a beast; this one is more intimate, perfect for when people get close to you. Highly recommended.

I bought this in 2020 at Zara; it was a rare and uncommon scent, but I loved it and even received many compliments. On clothes, it had beastly longevity. It’s one of those fragrances you fall in love with but can’t find anymore since Zara doesn’t sell it in my country. The iris is executed beautifully, and the notes are well-balanced.

I don’t know what about this fragrance makes it so addictive. The opening is fantastic, and it doesn’t really evolve, which is almost better. Although as an affordable cologne, it lacks some longevity and sillage, it holds its own against many other Zara fragrances in those areas. I see it as a great choice for winter and autumn formal occasions.

To me, this is 100% a feminine perfume. I gifted it to my mother (80), and she absolutely loved it. When she wears it, it looks phenomenal on her.

Top of the men’s catalog at Zara. It’s an almost identical clone to Valentino Uomo (not Dior), but at an absurdly low price. It smells sweet, powdery, with a spicy kick; bordering on unisex. The opening can feel very synthetic, but it dries down beautifully and lasts quite a while on the skin. Perfect for temperate or cold climates.

I grabbed this on sale and honestly, I expected more given the hype. I know iris, and this smells too synthetic and sweet, like old toy plastic. The drydown is better, but I tried layering to cover up the synthetic vibe and it didn’t work, so I’m selling it. I gave it several chances and nothing changed. Yes, the performance is good, better than other Zara scents. Scent: 6/10 Longevity: 7/10 Projection: 6/10 Sillage: 7/10 Value: 10/10 Blind buy: 3/10 Versatility: 4/10 Season: Temperate, late spring/early fall, and cold.

Zara 9.0: a solid proposition you can still find in stores, which is rare given how fast Zara removes perfumes. It’s an explosion of Dior Homme-style iris (I’m not saying they’re identical) with woods and a touch of sweetness without going overboard. It’s very dry, which is why it leans toward Dior, not just because of the iris but overall. Both are dry with woods that remind you of sawdust from freshly cut planks; that powdery sensation rounds out the star iris. Many compare 9.0 to Dior Homme Intense and say they’re the same, and I couldn’t disagree more; the Intense doesn’t resemble it at all. As for the classic Homme, I understand the similarity, but I wouldn’t say they’re identical. They follow a common path (iris, dry, woods), but side by side, they look sufficiently different. It lasts long on the skin, never dropping below 6 hours and reaching up to 8. Projection for a few hours with decent sillage. I’d use it in temperate-to-cold weather, day or night, very versatile. Not for sports, yes for work or a drink; you don’t need a suit to wear perfume 🤣. Recommended if you like the Dior Homme line, iris, and dry scents. I won’t dwell on the scent because it clearly draws inspiration from Dior Homme and Valentino Uomo. Obviously, it feels more synthetic and chemical-heavy. But just as some Zara scents are cheaper substitutes for pricier ones, here’s another called Ungaro L’Homme that casts a long shadow over this Zara and the Dior/Valentino options for just 20 euros, with less harmful ingredients for your health. If we add that Zara usually has poor performance, my recommendation is definitely to go for the Ungaro. Au revoir!

Pleasant. Velvet-like sensation, soft, a powdery wood without feeling dusty. The green notes keep it from being too heavy. Fixation and sillage could be better, but it’s worth it for the price. Maybe I’ll try the intense version to see if it’s better.

If you’re looking for something pleasant and versatile for any fall or winter occasion without overthinking it, this is a solid choice. The overall vibe is amber and iris: warm, clean, with a subtle masculine edge from the cardamom; the rest of the notes are just background. Pros: In the designer fragrance range, it’s high-end, the amber quality exceeds expectations, it’s very versatile, and the price is great. Cons: It doesn’t stand out in any way—if you’re looking for something unique, you’ll get bored quickly.

For me, alongside VL, this is Zara’s absolute best. It smells amazing, has great sillage and lasting power. Highly recommended, it’s definitely a gem.

I’m surprised by the quality of Zara’s fragrances, especially given the low price. This one blew my mind. It’s not something exquisite from another world, but for my untrained nose, it’s remarkably similar to Dior Homme Intense. I detect iris, amber, cardamom, and cedar, which is enough to make me smile every time I spray it. The evolution is smooth and subtle, without any harshness. The opening is slightly sweet, floral, and powdery; it lasts about 90 minutes before settling into iris and woody notes wrapped in aromatic powder. It’s a super steal and an excellent option to replace Dior, saving the latter for occasions requiring more refinement. Zara, don’t stop surprising us.

It’s a good fragrance when dry; for the price, it’s solid, nothing extraordinary. On my skin, vetiver and cedar dominate; longevity is quite good, around 8 hours or more, with moderate sillage and I think it lasts more than a day on clothes. It’s sweet but not cloying, a mature scent, gentleman-style. Some women love that; it’s not unpleasant and I recommend it for formal nightwear or serious occasions. My rating would be 7.5.
