I just tried it at a perfumery. Maybe it’s the rum note, but in the dry-down, it reminds me a lot of Joop Homme Wild.
I received a decant of this fragrance. It smells very good, but unfortunately, it adds nothing, and I don’t see what makes it a flanker of Eternity, since they have nothing in common, something designer houses are used to doing: leveraging an established name to release fragrances with no resemblance to the original. To me, it smells very similar to Le Beau Le Parfum; the rum note is barely perceptible, very blurred. Basically, it’s a sweet, richly vanilla scent with decent longevity, but as I said, very overdone.
I grabbed it right at launch and liked it, just like I liked Eternity Flame in 2019, that limited discontinued launch. These flankers have nothing to do with the original or with each other, creating a curious collection. Here they combine Alberto Morillas’ mastery with Frank Voelkl’s youthfulness. Honestly, what stands out most is the rum note; the rest surrounds it well, but the rum is an undeniable protagonist. It’s balanced, neither too sweet nor bitter, hitting a perfect midpoint. I see it more as a night scent, carefree and current without losing style. It’s a good CK launch with better projection and longevity than the average men’s fragrance. Give it a try; if you’re a collector, it might be redundant, but I got bored of it before a year.
Good first impression. It retains some DNA from the EDP and adds today’s alcohol/gourmand note. It seems there’s an excess of ingredients that needed to be thrown in haphazardly. It’s pleasant, though as it dries down more, it can show a slightly forced character. After 10 hours, my arm still smells.
I was gifted a sample. Pleasant and persistent scent, but for my taste, the combination of rum and vanilla is too sweet.
A mix of vanilla and rum. Not too sweet. Average performance. Repetitive DNA to a fault, but not a bad option.
Any resemblance to the classic Eternies (Edt or Edp) is purely coincidental. With respect to CK’s past, they could have given it another name to avoid confusing customers. It seems Coty and Tito Morillas’ group of interns with Frank Voelkl came up with a sweet little fragrance with a rough, youthful spirit to gain market share for the American house and compete with Azzaro, Gaultier, Armani… To me, this smells like a scent for non-exclusive places, for normal people, not for the cool crowd. The vanilla absolute is masculine, and the rest is a very trendy boozy caramel. Only at the very end does it slightly remind me of the 90s Eternity. Performance: lasts 4-5 hours, nothing crazy, and the trail is short, about 30 minutes if you apply it generously. The price is high for what it is. Neither here nor there.
I tried all the Eternity versions, and this was the only one I truly liked; the others didn’t convince me at all and smell completely different. It’s perfect for winter nights out, but be warned: I recommend testing it first because it feels excessively sweet to me. The other versions surprised me—they last for hours and smell great. I’d say it’s more suited for people over 30 for winter night outings. Rating: 6/10.
Out of all the Eternity scents I’ve tried, this is the one I liked the most, even though the others didn’t convince me because they smell different. It’s ideal for going out at night in winter, but be warned: it’s TOO SWEET for my taste. The rest of the line pleasantly surprised me and lasted hours. I see it more for people over 30. A 6 out of 10.
The name didn’t fit, neither did the surname. I bought a classic Eternity for my husband, and when I opened it, I was shocked: I expected a distant relative, but this was a different species entirely. The opening was a strong rum with tobacco notes that clashed with the sweetness that followed. I put it away thinking I’d gift it to him, but today I smelled it again, and surprisingly, it smells like pineapple, even though it doesn’t have it. I let him try it and he liked it. We would never have bought something like this, but since it’s here, we’ll keep it. It’s sweet but not overpowering; I don’t like men with excessive projections. The longevity was short, about two hours on him, but it has that softened masculine touch from the vanilla that encouraged me to try it myself to see how long it lasts on me.
