Descripción

Eternity Flame for Women by Calvin Klein is an oriental floral fragrance for women. Launched in 2019, this olfactory composition was created by Laurent Le Guernec. The top note features the freshness of mandarin; the heart reveals the complexity of tonka bean; and the base settles with the warmth of labdanum.

I’ve been wanting to write about this fragrance for a while. It presents a minimalist concept of notes, but as a whole, the aroma is rich, creamy, and warm. Like its male version, it has a captivating sweetness, kind and sensual. The ambered scent of the heather flower harmonized with spicy and oriental touches stands out. It has a youthful and determined character, almost unisex, for sensitive women who know what they want. Yes, it’s somewhat linear and synthetic, but it’s well-assembled. With warm and sweet bursts. It works well for work, meals, informal dinners, and night outings for a young woman with a certain romantic and intimate air. The perfume generates cordiality and addiction. Reasonable price, good performance, and it brings more than one smile. A good fragrance, young and sensitive at the same time.

You can smell an acidic orange and flowers, and in the drydown, it’s effeminate; it’s better than several of the Eternies.

  • Eternity Flame, or as I call it, Flame. First off, a disclaimer: this is my first review, and I have no professional perfumery knowledge, just notions about scents I like or don’t. That said, for me, it’s 100% summer, hence the title. Here in southern Spain, when that intense heat comes from the Sahara, we say it’s making FLAMA, and the perfume’s name couldn’t be more fitting. It’s summery but not in the usual way: it’s not fresh, light, citrusy, or coconut-based. Although the opening isn’t too intense, it has medium potency with a slight masculine touch (not excessive) that makes it irresistible. It fills the room with presence without being overwhelming. It seems to have a touch of cinnamon and woods that I’m fascinated by; maybe it’s the labdanum giving it that different vibe. It has good sillage and longevity, and it lasts on clothes for hours, even leaving a trace after washing. At the current price, it’s an exceptional perfume, outside the usual gourmand rules, and I’m very grateful to have it. Although the sillage is medium, it’s meant to be worn close to the skin, up close, though it won’t go unnoticed. Every time I apply it, I’m transported to a hot, dry afternoon, typical at 3 PM with cicadas chirping, where you lie down for a siesta in the shade until dusk. For a fragrance today to evoke that feeling is worthy of praise. Bravo on Flame.

  • To me, it’s clearly unisex. The top and heart notes don’t grab me much, but the woody base notes play perfectly with what came before.

  • After months searching for a dupe for CK Reveal, which is already discontinued, I found this Eternity Flame Woman from the same brand. The structure is practically identical, but it’s more woody, rougher, less powdery, and lacks that salty note; in fact, that’s how the male version of Reveal should have been. The drydown isn’t as pretty as Reveal’s, but it has better sillage and longevity. I’ve loved it.

  • Does anyone explain why it’s listed with only three notes? I was drawn in after reading Sergto_, who said it’s like Reveal but without that salty note that sometimes kills my appetite. Eternity Flame should be a flanker for Reveal, sharing more DNA with it than with the Eternity line. It starts with a rich tangerine that fades in a breath, leaving an almost linear, hyper-long-lasting, and sweet scent with amber, musk, and a spicy touch. Maybe there’s patchouli or labdanum in the base. It’s unisex, with notable sillage and 10-12 hours of longevity, even in extreme heat. CK has fantastic and affordable perfumes, some already iconic. This one is perfect for any season, super versatile—a true workhorse, as my friend Xelkor would say. I’m obsessed with the packaging featuring the atomizer in the cap. Speaking of flankers, I look for a reinterpretation, a twist on the original base, hoping to recognize that DNA. I love seeing how perfumers explore new paths. Sometimes a slight change makes a flanker surpass the original. That ingredient game fascinates me. Having a redundant fragrance doesn’t discourage me, but it bothers me when marketing sells something unrelated to the original, riding on its fame. I understand design and advertising costs, but they should be sold as distinct perfumes to keep collections coherent. Many of those ‘bastard flankers’ are delicious, but they should be marketed as such. Scent 7.5/10, Longevity 10/10, Sillage 8.5/10, Value 10/10, Versatility 9.5/10, Packaging 8/10. Would I buy again? Yes.

I’m a man and I wear it in spring-fall. Sweet citrus opening, smells like tangerine with a touch of peach. The majority of the life is tangerine, peach, opium (resinous type) and woods, which might be sandalwood because it feels creamy. To me, it’s linear; with four applications you’re set to last: 6 hours on skin projecting 2, on clothes 1 week. If you overdo the sprays, it gives you a headache, haha.

I’m a man and I wear it in spring and autumn. Sweet citrus opening, smells like tangerine with a touch of peach. Most of the life is tangerine, peach, labdanum (resinous type), and woods, which might be sandalwood since it feels creamy. In my opinion, it’s linear; with 4 sprays, you’re good for days: 6 hours on skin projecting 2 inches, and on clothes, a week. If you overdo the sprays, it gives you a headache, haha.

  • I bought it blindly because I love the original Eternity. At first, I liked it, but after fifteen minutes, it started bothering me. It’s a fragrance I just don’t get: it has a note I hate, which is also in Armaf’s Club de Nuit. To me, they’re the same perfume with different labels; I gave away the Armaf one, and I’ll do the same with this. I can’t have it near me. That said, it has extreme longevity: you can’t just wash once; you have to wash several times, and it stays deeply embedded in the skin.

  • I bought this blindly because I love the original Eternity. At first, I liked it, but after about 15 minutes, it started bothering me. This is a fragrance I don’t like; it has a note I hate, which is also in Armaf’s Club de Nuit. For me, they’re the same perfume in different brands; I gave away the Armaf one, and this one will be given away too. I can’t have it near me. That said, it has extreme longevity; it’s not worth washing yourself just once; you have to do it several times; it stays embedded in the skin.

  • I liked it from the first sniff and it became familiar to me, and as expected, it’s quite similar to Piece Unique by Gres, especially in the opening; both have similar and quite good performance. Although they don’t share notes, both perfumes are sweet, warm, spicy, and have a slight masculine touch that makes them unisex. Great value for money, even better with the Gres perfume that hit the market first.

  • I don’t know where the amber comes from as the top-voted note. It smells like opium, giving it a scent like menthol and eucalyptus with flowers. I wouldn’t say it’s spicy; if anything, slightly peppery.

  • I don’t understand how this fragrance has gone so unnoticed, without making a splash, both at perfumeria counters and among perfume lovers. Since I first smelled it, I haven’t been able to get away from it. Although I don’t consider myself an expert in perfumery, I can say that it stands out from all the “new” launches of recent years regarding women’s perfumes. Mostly, if I had to pick one fragrance from these years that made me say WOW, I would definitely choose this one. It’s not feminine or soft at all, but totally unisex (in fact, my partner asked the first time he smelled it if it was a man’s perfume), with a very well-balanced spicy note that pairs nicely with the tangerine, which adds sweetness. Definitely a marvel. And speaking of longevity, that’s the best (typical expression in my country). The scent stays embedded in clothes for days. Everything about it is good, except that it’s no longer sold in any physical perfumeria, which indicates it’s being discontinued. What a pity! I’ll continue enjoying it as long as I can…

  • I’m enjoying this fragrance on my wrist right now. I’m not a huge fan of Calvin Klein fragrances because none of their perfumes have had good longevity on my skin. But I’m pleasantly surprised with Eternity Flame. I’ve been smelling it for over six hours. It’s warm, spicy, unisex, and above all woody. When I first smelled it, it seemed like a very vintage aroma; while searching for it, I was convinced that Eternity Flame was a version not much younger than the original Eternity. It’s a mature aroma, meant to make a statement; I think two sprays are more than enough. I don’t think everyone will like it, but it’s excellent. It’s not a perfume to buy blindly.

  • I just put this on my wrist. I’m not a huge Calvin Klein fan because, on my skin, their perfumes usually don’t last. But Eternity Flame caught me off guard: I can still smell it after more than six hours. It’s warm, spicy, unisex, and very woody. At first sniff, I thought it was a vintage scent; in fact, I looked up info thinking it was almost identical to the original Eternity. It smells mature and potent, and I think two sprays are enough. It’s not for everyone, but it’s excellent. Definitely not something to buy blindly.

  • It’s a citrus fragrance with herbal touches (not ambered or resinous), long-lasting and potent with more than three sprays. It’s not for everyone because it has a touch of masculine cologne (to me, perfumes by men seem like they’re for women, like Dior Homme or the black Toy Boy, but this is far from that). As a layering scent, I find it good to complement with citrus or floral, but it’s not suitable for everyone. I’d still buy it at a very, very, very low price; it’s not a bad perfume.

  • This perfume is very different from when Calvin Klein launches random stuff (like Reveal, which is similar). Unlike its male counterpart, which is a light version of Stronger With You EDT and very pleasant for the general public, this one (which is perfectly unisex) is a bold composition. I understand the comparisons to Sì Lolita and Midnight Poison, but it doesn’t resemble either: from Lolita, it takes the boldness and the effusive pea accord, and from Midnight Poison, that camphorated aura the rose with patchouli sometimes gives. Here, they don’t declare those notes, and I’m almost sure they’re there, even if the rose is subtle; that camphorated accord is unmistakable and can’t be attributed to opium. From the latter, it takes that darkness that reinforces this strange aura over a slightly amber base. The result is a perfume that passed without making a splash; I don’t know if it’s discontinued. I first had it in 2019 and loved it; now I’m repurchasing the bottle with batch code 2024, so at least until last year it was still being produced.

It’s well known that CK perfumes are quite unisex, but this one seems excessively masculine; I imagine the women’s version must be softer. I can picture the men’s scent having the punch of a cologne like 7 Machos, which was a disaster for me. It’s true I’m not into unisex fragrances, but this one feels way too intense.

  • Gaby Iglesias

It’s true that CK fragrances are usually unisex, but this one seems excessively masculine. I imagine the women’s version would have a different scent; the men’s version has a potency similar to 7 Macho, which is brutal, but it didn’t convince me. I know I’m not someone who seeks unisex scents, but this one feels exaggerated to me.
