Eclat d’Arpege Pour Homme is fresh, aquatic, urban, youthful, and common. The opening is dynamic, making you feel jovial when you apply it. Very citrusy with a watery or marine touch, even though they aren’t listed. It gives me the sensation of a refreshing lemon drink with mineral water. The floral and herbal notes felt very weak; they are noticeable but with low presence; in reality, the citrus notes stand out more. The dry-down is very musky and woody, also common, but still pleasant. I find it versatile, aimed at a youthful audience, with good longevity and medium projection. Something in its aroma reminded me of Carolina Herrera 212.
Fresh and soft fragrance, very similar from my point of view to Kenneth Cole Reaction. It’s my first Lanvin fragrance in the collection and a good choice.
When I first tested this perfume, there wasn’t a single review on the product page. Reading the comparisons, I thought I must have tested something else. I would have sworn it was from the Woody Floral Musk family. To summarize, it seemed very similar, almost identical, to F32, so I deduce two things: a) it’s very chameleon-like, or b) I need to train my nose. Probably both are true.
Very soft and soapy fragrance. Recommended for summer.
Fresh, light, and soapy… Quite pleasant, it gives a sense of cleanliness and simplicity. Everyone likes it, it’s very friendly… Very wearable for hot days. It doesn’t stand out much, good for daily use. It might go unnoticed if someone is wearing a stronger perfume… I see it more for personal enjoyment. It’s my first Lanvin fragrance I’ve tried; I liked it despite how simple it is… I’ll see how their other proposals turn out.
Good value for money. It’s a floral fragrance for daily use, correct and without fuss, which is already saying a lot these days.
A hidden gem! If it had more marketing, it would be the Aqua di Gio of this decade. I bought it blindly to expand my collection; I wanted something from Lanvin but not L’homme, and I got the best surprise. It smells of tangerine and lemon at first, then it’s a bath of violets and jasmine that brings elegance, like a freshly washed white or pink shirt. It smells of maximum cleanliness even when you’re sweating. Perfect for guys with a heavy sense of humor, ideal for the beach, it handles tropical heat well, and on me, it projects like a beast. It represents the male floral family well. Projection 9/10, sillage 8/10, longevity 9/10. Under 20s might find it childish, but over 30s? Pure elegance!
It’s a rich but very common floral, simple and lacking charm these days. It seemed very similar to 212 CH, but the reformulation, not the original. It’s an affordable cologne that passes well as unisex. Not bad to try, but it doesn’t bring anything new. Maybe it just doesn’t smell good on my skin like it does on others.
Total disappointment. It’s a cheap clone of Dsquared2 He Wood, especially with that violet note everyone mentions. I’m sorry. P.S.: To fill in the blanks: Scent: 3/10, Sillage: 2/10, Longevity: 3/10. 100ml bottle from 2019.
What a relief! Although it didn’t last long the first time I wore it, putting it on later made it last all day. I love the opening and the dry-down suits me well, but it smells very much like Cartier de Cartier Concentrée once it settles.
I just received it and I’m slowly collecting the Lanvin line. I fell in love from the start, quite citrusy at first, then it turns into a very soft floral, and in the dry down it smells a lot like YSL Y EDT, but fresher. So far, only good impressions.
Excellent quality-to-price ratio, I got it for 5 euros, I don’t know if it was a price error.
If I define it in a few words: it’s the rich guy version of Invictus, the DNA of that perfume but with an elegant suit, fruity and floral, less aquatic.
Floral scent, very light, a bit shy at first. It picks up when your body gets warm and stays on clothes all day. You can smell the violet and musk, with a fruity touch but nothing invasive. In my opinion, it smells like that Nivea cream I used to love as a kid. Great price, long-lasting, it sticks. For days and evenings; I don’t recommend it for night, it’s for warm days and the beach. 9/10 all around.
It’s charming, fresh, and floral, the Trojan horse of summer. It seems harmless but has hidden charm. It’s useful, practical, harmonious, like a floral shampoo. In some aspects, it surpasses the classic Aqua di Gio. It’s like crystal water from Olympus that revitalizes and brings well-being. Medium longevity; lasts long on clothes; on skin, about 4 hours, with notable projection in the first 2. If you work out in summer heat, it intensifies and lasts 5-6 hours. With citrus, floral, musk, and creamy wood notes, the price is a steal. The best part is that it’s not as overused, which makes it special.
I just received it after watching a YouTube video. As a user, I applied it today at 3:00 PM and at 10:30 PM it’s still on my body, neck, and arms. I thought it would be lighter and I was wrong; at first, it overwhelmed my nose a bit on my chest, that was my first close-up, hehe. From now on, I’ll apply it carefully when buying blind. Despite that, the scent on skin is extraordinary. I loved it. It smells solid, doesn’t fade, but you can notice subtle nuances evolving, lightly. I felt better, it cheered me up. I’m impressed by the quality for the low price. I’ll keep testing this week to see how it lasts over the days.
Very good fragrance, but watch out: it’s not invasive, it’s meant to be enjoyed up close and personally. It’s delicate, floral, and citrusy; the violet is amazing, it conveys cleanliness and class (not maturity, but level). I recommend buying several because they’re no longer made, so what’s left is the last stock. My batch is from 2019, in case it helps you.
It’s not a man’s perfume; it’s unisex and exquisite, very floral with violet. In the dry down, it reminds me of Zegna Uomo, quite similar, but eventually it changes. My wife said that from a distance, it smells like Chanel Chance Eau Tendre.
It smells a lot like Lacoste L.12.12 Blanc.
What a precious fragrance… I’m going against the previous negative comments: to me, it’s clean, intimate, non-intrusive, discreet, and super delicious; it’s one of my favorites in the collection.
A vibrant, cheerful, uplifting fragrance… And from the prestigious house Lanvin, which only makes perfumes and is one of the oldest in France. In Arpege, explosive citrus peels like bergamot first, then lemon, and finally the dominant mandarin come together. Amidst that acidity, the flowers: a very present jasmine at times and an intense, spicy violet from the rosemary. Very natural overall. Dries down with lots of green and white, the purity of musk accompanied by a soft sandalwood and noble cedar. In summary: Citrus, green, aquatic, and floral fragrance. Reminds me a lot of the summer version of 212 On Ice by C.H. For summer, no doubt.
Here to talk about a ‘Hidden Gem’, meaning one of those under-the-radar treasures of which little is said. I truly believe this is the fresh/citrus/floral style fragrance with the best performance I’ve tried since I got hooked on perfumes. It smells soft, delicate, clean, and relaxing. At first, you feel the mandarin, but not the juice or the acidity of the peel when you squeeze it… rather, it’s similar to holding the whole, intact fruit close to your nose. That blends with rosemary and violet leaves (my favorite flowers), and also, very in the background, a bit of jasmine. All the components seem to be mixed inside a container of pure, crystal-clear water; that’s what gives it harmony and freshness. Once it dries down, what you feel most is the violet leaf, which remains intact now, accompanying the cedar wood and musk. Imagine grabbing mandarins, rosemary, violets, and jasmine, filling a cedar container with fresh water, putting everything in there, and mixing it. That’s how natural and fresh this wonder smells. Performance without exaggeration, and as I said at the beginning, it’s Excellent and surprising, at least to me, because I didn’t expect a fragrance with these characteristics to behave that way. On skin, with a moderate trail, it lasts between 8 and 12 hours, while on clothes it lasts days, even still detectable after washing. 100% recommended for warm and temperate climates. Especially for daytime. One more thing: Although it’s Pour Homme, it smells totally Unisex. Scent: 10 Trail: 7 Longevity: 10 Price: Can be found at a very good price 🙂
I don’t like it. Smells like hairspray. For such a pompous and pretentious name, you expect something on par with a high-fashion house. It conveys nothing to me; outrageously synthetic and very similar to another one that’s even worse, like the disastrous Citizen Jack by Michael Malul. It’s fresh but simply trash due to its chemical smell.
The quintessential office perfume. If you’re annoyed that Acqua di Gio doesn’t last anymore, go for this one. On hotter days, it unleashes all its magic; in cold climates, not so much. But what I’m sure of is that you’ll smell clean all day.
I was looking for citrus perfumes for summer and found a deal on a set with shower gel. I bought it blind and honestly, I LOVED it. A floral-citrus aroma that I liked from the very first moment. Highly recommend it!
Bought it blind because of the ‘hidden gem’ reputation and good price. The first spray reminded me of Versace Pour Homme (as someone mentioned in the English version), probably due to the soft aquatic note, unlike marine scents like Acqua di Gio that smell like algae and I hate. However, Eclat differs with the violet, which is very prominent, reinforcing the aldehydic heart; combined with jasmine, it feels quite floral. Overall, it’s not loud or attention-grabbing, but it does its thing by offering a different nuance within this generic ‘aquatic’ category that you smell on the street; within that group, Eclat stands out for the better. When I say stand out, I mean in appreciation compared to this category. This fragrance is soft and rich but not attention-seeking; it’s for personal enjoyment and short distances at best. I bought it late autumn and didn’t get a chance to test it in warm weather, which is clearly its strong suit. My collection grew, and I don’t like having many unused bottles; I already know which ones I’ll use this summer. When I imagined wearing Eclat, it conveyed peace and a rich, yet somewhat generic aroma that didn’t spark my desire to wear it daily. Finally, it found the opportunity to leave, and I let it go. Before it left, I compared it to Allure Homme Sport, and in my judgment, it can hold its own. Eclat feels more subtly elegant on its floral side, and the dry down has a very subtle talc-like touch that I love; Allure had a stronger aldehydic note that lingers until the end (plus the tonka bean and that sweet mid-base), and in a way, it feels more aggressive. I must admit it was hard to let go of it, partly because it’s getting hard to find (I bought it as a tester at a good price) and partly because it’s the aquatic scent I like most (and I’m picky about this type), but it lacked that necessary ‘punch’ to stay. I think I’ll ask someone to gift it to me because I’ll miss it.
This guy is spectacular. It’s my favorite from my entire collection; it feels sweet. Honestly, I didn’t even pick out the notes until I looked them up here. It’s the perfume that synthesizes my preference with my dad’s favorites (he uses the Antonio Banderas ones). I wear it when I’m with my family; it feels like my inner child in a bottle.
Lanvin review: Eclat d’Arpege Pour Homme. Opens with citrus, highlighting lime, then blends softly with rosemary in the heart. Projection is acceptable (about an hour initially) and longevity is moderate (4-5 hours). I only notice the sandalwood base, which is very faint. Ideal for spring and summer without excessive heat. Not recommended for night; the trail is moderate. Works for both formal and informal settings; it doesn’t offend, in fact, I received praise. It can be a bit linear, but that doesn’t mean it’s bad. It fulfills its function of keeping you fresh and perfumed. In short, a citrus fragrance with spicy notes for casual and office use, day and evening in spring and summer, that does its job well. Cheers.
It’s a masterpiece. Although I detect a feminine touch, the longevity is incredible; being fresh, it lasts my entire workday, and I still catch hints of it at night. It’s gotten compliments from girls, leaves a great impression, and is ideal for the office or daily wear. Very affordable price, a hidden gem in my opinion.
Bought it blind and instantly fell in love with the scent. Great price, but the downside is it only lasts about 2 hours on my skin before fading, plus there’s no EDP version available.
It reminds me of Invictus, but with a more floral touch. I didn’t like the aroma too much. Although it has better performance than Lanvin L’Homme, the latter has a delicious scent and is much less synthetic than Éclat. However, many people will love it. It fits current trends perfectly: sweet, aquatic, slightly floral, and with good performance.
I own the Armaf Milestone, and it smells very similar.
A good fragrance for everyday wear or outings with moderate to hot temperatures. You’ll surely get many compliments for its versatility.
A wonderful and little-known fragrance from the legendary Lanvin. Fresh, violet, and musky, with a citrus opening followed by a very floral, soft, youthful, cheerful, and springtime vibe. An aroma based on violet flower with touches of blue fragrances, a floral heart, and lots of musk. It smells very similar to Quatre by Boucheron. In my opinion, it’s unisex, leaning slightly masculine, but a woman could wear it perfectly too. Totally versatile. Affordable price. If you like Quatre or aromas like Montblanc Starwalker and find it for under 30 euros for 100 ml, buy it without thinking. For mild temperatures between 18 and 25°C, it’s a gem. The scent is great and I like it more than Boucheron’s, which smells more synthetic and generic. It lasts about 3 hours, which is short, and projects for 30 minutes, which is fine for a fresh spring scent; at this price, I don’t ask for more. It’s for going out for a while, during the day, in March, April, and May. For strong heat or nights, there are better options.
If you do your research, it seems like you’re missing out on a gem. Holding the bottle in your hand gives you excitement, like a first date. But that feeling disappears in 4 or 5 minutes. It’s a shame that this reputable French brand hasn’t left a mark (except for Eclat and L’Homme), and this citrusy, bubbly, shallow blend, which is more transparent than mountain water, doesn’t help either. It starts lively with lots of lemon and a bit of mandarin—not very natural, but harsh and sharp. The light blue bottle is as discreet as the fragrance, which after half an hour reveals its artificiality, seeming aquatic but empty. The name Éclat d’Arpège sounds more pretentious than the wigs of the Louis XVIII court for this pseudo-lemon infusion. Lanvin should have saved it for something more elegant. Honestly, it adds nothing; test it first if you’re interested.
Buy blind if you’ve read good reviews and the price is right on the website. When it arrived, total disappointment. It barely smells and lasts only 5 minutes on the skin. Use it for everyday wear, after a shower, while at home, and forget about it once it’s gone.
Ideal for everyday wear and fresh days. Everyone will like it; it reminds me of Carolina Herrera’s 212. The trail on skin lasts 1-2 hours before fading, but it clings to the skin for over 8 hours on the last two applications. On clothes, it lasts more than 8 hours. I feel like it’s a herbal fragrance for any occasion—could we call it ‘blue’? It feels mature, suitable for people aged 25 to 40. The price-to-quality ratio is incredible for how cheap it is. Buy blind; it’s a great gift.
I love it. It’s fresh and totally different from what’s on the market. On my skin, I get mandarin, violet, and rosemary. It’s a shame that, as everyone says, the longevity is short. But considering the price, it’s definitely a gem.
Okay, updating my opinion… The scent is soft and masculine; it doesn’t shout but accompanies you for hours. It’s fresh, citrusy, and pleasant—nothing overwhelming. The dry-down reminds me a lot of Lacoste L.12.12 Blanc and Armaf’s Hunter. Obviously, Hunter projects more and hits harder, but this Lanvin one is more refined and smooth. In short: give it a try. If you hook, you’ve got a Zara-style spring/summer fragrance. Since I already own the Hunter, I didn’t buy this. Hope this helps.
If you catch a 2019 batch, it’s pure gold. It’s the kind of perfume you use more and want even more. It works magic in the heat; it doesn’t last forever, but it blends perfectly with the breeze and women love it. Reapplying isn’t an issue since it won’t break the bank. If you’re looking for something fresh, easy, and guaranteed to get compliments without being the most original guy in the room, buy it without thinking. It does its job perfectly.
