I describe Divine as the alter ego of its predecessor Decadence, I don’t mean as an antagonist role but while the first represents a conventional gourmand fragrance, the second possesses that spontaneous opulence, too floral and extravagant, that you either love or hate, but there’s no middle ground to define it. It’s really proven that it’s directed towards a public with complex tastes and a great personality for whoever dares to wear it.
It smells so good on me! I can’t distinguish the notes, but what I detect is a banana scent, yes, banana that at first feels a bit green, but then becomes sweet and vanilla-like. It lasts and projects more than 8 hours, I recommend it.

Divine Decadence, as Chrystiane describes it so well, is a complex fragrance. In a current market with sweeter trends and being Marc Jacobs, I didn’t expect something like this. I don’t know if it’s the saffron, the champagne, or the hydrangea, but it has a very defined, singular, and very specific taste. From the first moment I noticed a strange smell, not unpleasant to my nose, but I can see it as complicated, especially for what is in style today. The champagne gives a precious tone to the flowers, full of life and opulence, it’s beautiful, but I think with today’s trends it won’t be appreciated as it should. A beautiful perfume that leaves me out of the game because I don’t recognize its essence in others, and that makes me think it’s original. It has a lot of presence but isn’t overwhelming, at the same time it’s light and airy. It stands out among the others and has a good trail for a while and good longevity.
I bought it because I saw it heavily discounted, but I have to say that while it smells good, it doesn’t mean anything to me and its longevity is short. Neither praise nor blame, I think its regular price, which is higher, isn’t worth it.
I bought it because its presentation (mostly) caught my attention and the different scent. But when I applied it on my skin, I was disappointed: it completely fell apart. While it has excellent longevity, it doesn’t stay on me at all. I highlight that it’s elegant, with personality, a perfume with character. You have to know how to wear it.
A combo of saffron, champagne, and honeysuckle is what my nose detects most, giving a green, earthy sensation, but with vanilla, orange blossom, and amber it becomes a unique, sparkling, and slightly spicy sweet, nothing conventional. You won’t find here the vanilla gourmand formula so in fashion. It’s a unique and unconventional scent. Divine Decadence can be used in enclosed spaces, it’s exquisite, timeless, and all-terrain, it won’t leave anyone indifferent who perceives it, with moderate projection and longevity of more than 6 hours. It’s worth trying the Decadence range, they are diverse, different from each other, that conserve the DNA of the mother but each with its own identity.
Divine decadence, despite your name, you’ve pulled the Marc Jacobs line (known for poor longevity and simple scents) out of the abyss. With your sensual aroma, you turn heads, the effect of vanilla and champagne for sure: saffron and magnolias give you a spark. I agree with Selene, you remind me of some bananas. I applaud your good longevity and trail, you are my favorite flanker of Decadence.
What a pleasant surprise with Divine Decadence. I’m not a fan of Marc Jacobs because their longevity is poor and I feel the whole Daisy line smells the same, but with this one I’ve changed my mind. The longevity is very good and it projects a lot. Forget about how it smells, I don’t feel it as citrusy or floral, I feel fruity and I agree with Sele, at some points it smells like banana. I have it in a decant and without a doubt I would buy the full bottle.
To me, this is the daytime version of the original DECADENCE. It follows the same line, very similar but not as overwhelming. It’s still intense, for women with character, not for young girls. It’s feminine but with a lot of attitude. Whoever wears it knows what they want and doesn’t hesitate. It’s a bit more citrusy and softer than the original, so for me, it’s the daily wear from that line. The trail is big but not too much, and it lasts about 8 hours on my skin. I’m so HAPPY they released this version following the same scent as the original that drives me crazy!!!
Another world in the world of perfume. Rich, powerful, sweet but not over the top. Lasts well and leaves a trail. No one goes unnoticed with this. On my skin, it smells like hydrangeas, champagne, and vanilla. Yes, sometimes you can detect a hint of banana, but it’s rich and different in the end.
I bought this perfume thinking it would be a much more wearable version of the original Decadence, which I love. I thought I could wear it during the day without issues with the same scent. But I was so wrong; this has nothing to do with the original, I didn’t like anything about it. It turned out super sour on my skin and very sharp; I don’t know which note causes this, but I couldn’t handle it. I had to sell it, and now I’ve bought the original, although I can only wear it at night.

I don’t know why I keep insisting on trying complex perfumes if I can’t enjoy them. I also don’t know why the champagne note smells so weird on me; I’ve tried several and it’s always the same. What do I smell? I looked up the notes to see what it resembles: I smell hydrangea, with very strong saffron, banana gummies, and cut grass. It reminds me of the days my dad was cutting the lawn. Do I like it? No and no. I used it on very hot days and the result was bad. Today I used it at 25 degrees, cloudy and humid, and it still smells bad. I’ll wait for winter to see if the miracle happens there. Otherwise, I need to get rid of it.

Divine Decadence by Marc Jacobs elevated the irreverent spirit of fragrances to a new level of luxury with a revolutionary style and design. It’s luminous and sparkling, with a radiant emerald color that captures good taste and the iconic style of Decadence. It radiates beauty and exoticism. For me, it was love at first sight; the bottle shaped like a wallet or purse caught my attention for being so original. Divine Decadence celebrates a new interpretation of the luxury accessory with transparent glass and a dazzling emerald tone, similar to the previous one. It’s a sparkling expression of glamour and luxury, with great shine and exuberance. I love it for special occasions; it makes me happy. Due to its oriental ingredients, it belongs to the Oriental Floral family for women. The opening has neroli blossom and bergamot, a sparkling champagne tone where Italian plum and its sweet notes stand out. After that intoxicating ecstasy come notes of jasmine, gardenia, and hydrangea that give it sophistication. Its wonderful dry down is amber, saffron, and vanilla; this intense woody and floral blend makes it impossible to ignore. It’s like an interesting cocktail that has become one of my favorites, occupying a special place in my collection for being opulent, luminous, with a radiant and spectacular texture. It comes with the EDP designation, ‘Eau de Parfum’, which, due to its lower alcohol concentration, has a powerful sillage and excellent longevity, lasting a whole day on the skin and more. On a scale of 1 to 10, it’s a 10. I love using it at night in any season, at parties and special occasions; it’s romantic, and my husband is fascinated by it. Women who wear it will feel special thanks to the intensity of the blend. Perfect for those who know what they want, have personality, and are ready to take on the world with clear ideas. Divine Decadence is very feminine. The most wonderful thing is the variety of tones it creates on each person’s pH, achieving a unique and powerful effect. Master perfumers Annie Buzantian from Firmenich and Ann Gottlieb are the creators of this masterpiece. Launched in 2016 after months of creation and ingredient revolution. It won the Women’s Fragrance of the Year – Prestige award at the FiFi Awards 2016. It marks a style and way of life that transcends ages; it’s so attractive that anyone who smells it wants to smell more.
A unique aroma; when it dries down, it resembles the original Decadence, but it has a fresher, sparkling opening. It’s softer overall but still powerful because it leaves a trail, and after hours, you notice it when moving, and it lasts longer on the skin, although it’s good longevity. It’s musky, with a sweet touch and something fruity. It’s a difficult scent to compare, distinct, formal yet versatile.
Delicious💜, it’s a sweeter and less green version of the original. It’s more delicate and wearable. It lasts a long time and the sillage is moderate. I’m happy with the purchase and the packaging, especially the 100ml one, a plus. Also, I bought it with a 50% discount because it is true that it has a high price. Still, I recommend it.
Divine Decadence, so rich!!! I bought it a couple of weeks after looking for the original Decadence, but here in Chile it’s scarce (if anyone knows if they discontinued it, please comment). When I tried it in-store, I expected the banana scent and it was exactly that (gold liquid bottle and it’s an EDP). I don’t know any other fragrance with this scent and that’s what I love; it makes it delicious and unique, it’s one of my favorites. I don’t use it every day so I don’t get bored, but the aroma comes to my mind frequently. On my pH-destroying skin, it lasts between 4 and 5 hours, which is a lot, so I’m happy. Medium sillage. I think it’s versatile for any occasion all year, although in this heat it looks better at night. I love it!
It reminds me of a very cheap Cosmopolitan perfume.
It’s sweet but different from the sweet perfumes on the market because it smells like a delicious, subtle banana. In my opinion, it’s wearable all year, day and night. I’m informing @ICL that they have indeed pulled it from the market. What a pity.
I absolutely love it. After the sparkling champagne opening, it smells of banana with woods, amber, and saffron; maybe the flowers create that accord. The trail is noticeable and lasts about 10 hours on skin and even longer on clothes. It’s seductive, perfect for dinner with my partner. It stands out for its originality. Although I hate bottles with everyday shapes like the Good Girl shoe or the Pepe Jeans glass, I adore this one. What a shame they discontinued it. Scent 8.5/10, Longevity 10/10, Sillage 8/10, Value 8/10, Versatility 6.5/10, Packaging 9/10. Would I buy it again? Yes.
I love it! I’m not entirely sure how it’s made, but after the initial champagne sparkle fades, what you smell is banana with woods, a touch of amber, and saffron. Could it be the floral blend creating that banana accord? On me, the trail is noticeable and lasts about 10 hours on the skin, much longer on clothes. It’s a seductive perfume I wear for dinner with my partner. It stands out as original in my collection. Although I hate bottles shaped like everyday objects, like the shoe from Good Girl or the glass from Pepe Jeans, I adore this one. What a shame they’ve discontinued these jewels! Scent 8.5/10, Longevity 10/10, Sillage 8/10, Value for money 8/10, Versatility 6.5/10, Packaging 9/10. Would I buy it again? Yes.
I stumbled upon this while browsing another site and it blew my mind. For @ICL, yes, Decadence is still available on lv.perfumes.
I like it if it’s good! Jaja, but I prefer its sibling, which is a great perfume. I don’t like the banana aroma much, but as for longevity, it’s excellent, and the sillage… needless to say. It’s very beautiful, I recommend it.
Today I tried a sample, but I smell a strong banana/syrup scent for desserts… it doesn’t fully convince me. It’s not bad, but it gives me a bit of nausea, I don’t know why, even though I love bananas or anything with that flavor. Jaja, still, I recommend it because it’s original, good for spring or winter but during the day.
I don’t understand how it’s so underestimated and then they stopped making it. It’s truly unique; it doesn’t resemble any other. It smells of warmth, of a confident, independent, and sophisticated woman, very sensual. It projects a lot and lasts longer. I admit that no one has ever complimented it, but it’s my favorite in the world and in history. I keep a bit of the last bottle and treat it like gold. When I’m home alone, it’s cold, enjoying a good coffee, and having my moment, I put it on and it’s pure personal enjoyment. It envelops me, comforts me, gives me security, and serene joy. Edit: I’ve read that many perceive a banana or syrup aroma; I don’t notice it, but not at all. It’s sweet without being cloying, nothing like a fruit punch with sugar or a daiquiri, which are trendy nowadays. It’s warmer; if we talk about fruits, it’s more like rehydrated and baked prune, ripe and juicy. I don’t know why they perceive it since it’s not listed in the notes, but it serves to give an idea. I suppose it’s the amber, orange blossom, saffron, and bergamot notes dancing together in balance along with the champagne. Deliciously so. All its notes blend and fuse so well and balanced that they form a new aroma, so unique, special, and indescribable.
No one deserves it less; it’s a treasure! The worst part is that they’ve stopped making it. It smells like a confident, independent, and super sophisticated woman; it’s sensual and projects pure madness, plus it lasts for hours. No one has ever praised it to me, but it’s my absolute favorite of all time. I keep the last bottle like it’s gold. When I’m at home, cold, drinking coffee, and enjoying my time, I put it on and it’s pure happiness. It wraps around me, calms me, and brings me joy. Edit: I’ve read that some people smell banana or syrup in it, but I don’t notice it. It’s sweet without being cloying; nothing like fruit punch or a daiquiri. If there’s fruit, it’s more like baked, ripe, juicy prune. For some reason, I imagine the amber, orange blossom, saffron, and bergamot dancing with champagne. Delicious. All the notes blend into something unique and indescribable.
I tested this perfume many times in stores and always thought it smelled like overripe banana.
I tried this perfume in the store many times and always thought it smelled like pulparindo.
Can anyone explain why it took me so long to buy this? I couldn’t find perfumeries with testers, so I decided to go by the reviews (thanks, Ori Russo) and this website. It’s gorgeous, very particular, and adapts to any season or occasion. At first, I didn’t notice the banana, just sweet flowers (though I usually don’t like them), an exquisite sweetness. I think those flowers with that sweetness create the banana sensation: if I focus on the flowers, they’re flowers; if I focus on the banana, it’s banana. It’s beautiful and could be my forever perfume. I bought the 30ml, but if the opportunity arises, the 100ml is a must.
Does anyone else wonder why it took me so long to buy this? I couldn’t find a store with testers, so I decided to go for it based on reviews (thanks, Ori Russo!) and this page. It’s gorgeous, very unique, and works for every season and occasion. At first, I didn’t smell the banana; instead, I got a lot of sweet flowers (even though I don’t usually like them), which was exquisite. It’s beautiful and could be my forever scent. This time I bought the 30ml, but if the opportunity arises, I want the 100ml.
White flowers mixed with vanilla and champagne. Divine. Simply divine. Oh, Marc Jacobs… why did you discontinue the Decadence collection? 😭
I picked this up online recently for much less than before, and I used it for my birthday (my self-gift 😉). It has a high sillage and wide projection for the first two hours, then softens to a moderate trail until the very end, fading to a skin scent only for the last 15-20 minutes before disappearing. The scent is simply wonderful 🥰🥰🥰. It’s impossible to go unnoticed with this fantastic but unfortunately discontinued perfume; what a tragedy. On my skin, it opens with that honeysuckle note—sweet, slightly green, and fresh, which can be mistaken for a ‘banana smell’ 🍌; this accord is there all the time, just varying in intensity. Gradually, the effervescent champagne note mixed with orange blossom enters, adding elegance, followed by the delicious bergamot that tames the alcohol of the champagne, making it more refreshing, cheerful, and festive. Then, step by step, it gives way to a floral blend without losing elegance: a wonderful gardenia and a shy hydrangea wrapped in a veil of vanilla. As it dries down, calm arrives with an amber embraced by saffron, but without abandoning the golden touch of vanilla. It’s elegant and party-ready at the same time, jovial yet mature; not for a pink twenty-something, but for a young lady seeking a balance between elegant sobriety and extroverted joy.
What a beautiful perfume! Marc Jacobs has its own DNA. Some people can’t stand their fragrances, but in this one, I can identify that little banana scent we found years later in Perfect Intense. To me, it smells vanilla with a fresh yet sweet touch. The dry down is pure banana 🍌. As for versatility, I skip that topic with all perfumes; I wear them whenever I feel like it, I don’t think about whether they match my clothes, that would be the ultimate 😆. It doesn’t matter if it’s winter or summer, that’s where the number of sprays comes into play. It’s quite wearable, it doesn’t overwhelm or fog anyone up. Anyway, if I think of anything else, I’ll edit. Go grab one while it’s still available on Vinted.

For me, it was a disaster—I just can’t handle florals. It smells like yellow flowers to me; I’m not sure if it’s the honeysuckle. The same thing happened with Perfect Intense; I sensed a similar DNA with that artificial banana note. It’s a powerhouse in terms of potency and projection, lasting about 6 hours.
I didn’t like it at all; I couldn’t stand the florals. I got a scent of yellow flowers, not sure if it’s the jasmine. When I tried Perfect Intense, it was the same for me; I sensed a similar DNA along with artificial banana. It is definitely a bomb in terms of power and projection, lasting about 6 hours.
I bought this blindly based on the good reviews. At first, it didn’t convince me at all, but I gave it another shot and now it’s my favorite. I wore it to the office and loved how it smelled that spring morning; I got tons of compliments, and honestly, it ended up being a real hit for me.
