Descripción
Perfect Intense by Marc Jacobs is an oriental floral fragrance for women. Launched in 2021, this composition was created by perfumer Domitille Michalon Bertier. In its opening, the scent unfolds a bouquet of narcissus and night jasmine; the heart reveals the sweetness of almond, while the base settles on the warmth of sandalwood.

Smell of smoked/toasted nuts over a floral base with sweetness. The nut note (it says almond but smells like toasted walnut) is very similar to the initial popcorn note in Pure XS, but not as sticky or cloying.
When I separate the notes, I detect the almond, something floral, and creaminess that I imagine comes from sandalwood. Together, it conveys a mature fruity sweetness that reminds me of banana, like in the Decadence perfumes (I have Divine Decadence). At times, I’m reminded of the popcorn note in Pure XS. It’s very sweet and I liked it. It doesn’t convey elegance but rather youthful informality, with presence and density, not sparkling. It has moderate sillage and lasts more than 10 hours. Compared to the original, there’s a resemblance, but this one is less sweet, greener, fresher, and longer-lasting. I don’t like one more than the other; they’re for different moments. The Perfect is spring-like, cheerful, and clean; the Intense is better in the cold, with more body and less clean. I didn’t buy the Perfect because I already have others for those occasions, topped by Daisy Eau So Fresh. I’ll enjoy the decants of the Intense but I’ll stick with Divine Decadence for now. Scent 7.5/10, Longevity 10/10, Sillage 6.5/10, Value/Price 7/10, Packaging 9.5/10. Would I buy again? I didn’t buy it.
For the first hour, I feel the almond accord doesn’t blend with the florals, as if I had a handful of caramelized nuts and salt next to a bunch of narcissus and jasmine. After this hour, I conclude: Perfect Intense is popcorn with flowers, which becomes more almond-y, creamy, and even fruity (like pear). I have nothing similar in my collection; I like it but it doesn’t make me love it. Will I keep it? Of course, plus the cap is gorgeous.
It opens with creamy, sweet narcissus (I don’t know if the banana in the cap is decorative or real), but I definitely note banana. By the minute, the roasted almonds and sesame come out, beautiful, nothing like the ones in Girl Of Now; they give the sensation of being warm, like opening a street cone, and then they blend with the relaxing sandalwood as it dries. It’s a moderately intense sweet: watch out, don’t over-spray or you’ll smell like hot almonds for hours. I love it, it evokes Christmas Eve happiness for me, and I was surprised by the longevity for a Jacobs.
It’s delicious. Literally smells like banana (there’s one in the cap, though it’s not listed in the notes, so I don’t know if it’s real, but it smells like that) with that nutty touch from the almond and floral undertones. I tried it in-store on recommendation and it was a hit. He says it smells like apple, so it depends on each person’s sense of smell. Whatever it smells like, it’s fresh, not overly cloying, and slightly sweet, which I love. I haven’t tried the regular Perfect, so I can’t tell if Intense is just a name or actually more potent.
If it’s perfect for me, it’s like putting a coin in a candy machine: out comes a handful, first smelling of banana, then a mix of strawberry, and later the creamy almond with sandalwood. It’s gourmand to my taste, with floral projection and long-lasting sillage, ideal for those who want to smell youthful. Daisy So Intense and Decadence are the only ones worth it for their longevity; the other Marc Jacobs scents are pleasant but for me they’re just breezes.
I needed something for everyday wear in autumn and winter, and it was love at first sniff. I can’t handle how good it is: it has presence but in a fun, informal way, that mix of roasted and creamy almonds with flowers is killing me. Compared to the regular Perfect, I use them in different seasons and I love both; I can’t compare them.
Since I smelled it on the tester, I couldn’t stop thinking about it until I bought it. It’s rich, almond-y, and fruity (even though there’s no fruit, it smells like banana). What surprises me most is its versatility: on dry skin it smells like sandalwood; if I wear passionfruit cream underneath, it lasts up to 12 hours, but by hour 6 only the incense remains. I mix it with Loewe’s Solo Ella or Zara’s Orchid and it becomes fresh and fruity—my favorite. Used alone, it’s summery at first and spicy/autumnal as it dries down; I’m not sure when to wear it.
Starts strong with almond, exactly what I was looking for, but after 5 minutes it changes drastically and on my skin it ends up too fussy. It’s 90% identical to Tommy Hilfiger’s Impact.
On my skin, the narcissus stands out, followed by the almond. I like it for early fall. I confess I bought it because of the restockable cap; I’m a cat lover and couldn’t resist. You can’t see it in the photo, but behind it is a white kitten with cherries that I adore. The perfume is lovely and has decent performance.
I was about to buy Perfect at the airport, but Intense exceeded my expectations. It smells like rich, sweet almonds, but the best part is that it reminds me a lot of banana. My surprise was huge seeing there’s no banana in the notes; surely there’s an expert explanation, but I love it (the box and cap have bananas, so it makes sense). I use it as a daily cologne. I adore it.
I adore it, but on my skin it’s very different from what I read. If I were to make a note pyramid, I’d put GREEN first, then white floral, then almond, and everything else last. On me, it’s super green and fresh, like a field after rain with a dew scent. It doesn’t add warmth or autumnal sweetness. On my pH, it’s not gourmand by a long shot. It doesn’t behave like it does on others, but I love it: it’s rich and unique. The trail is wide and lasts a minimum of 7 to 8 hours, and on clothes, it lasts days. Don’t buy it blindly; it might not be sweet or autumnal on your skin.
Agree with ChocoChan: it’s very green and I didn’t like it. Smells like that Vanart herbal shampoo you used to swallow when opening it (veteran Mexicans will understand). I’ll just say that shampoo was cheap. Way in the background, after an hour, shy almonds appear. It doesn’t resemble This Is Her at all. If I’m looking for something with that scheme, similar performance, and creamier, I stick with Hugo Boss Alive, which costs half as much. Moderate trail, lasts 8+ hours.
Beautiful bottle, but it smells identical to Versace Eros EDP. What’s going on with the creators? Is one copying the other?
I tried it in-store on recommendation. On the first spray, it smelled like banana and the salesperson laughed, but it hooked me. I bought the sample and the soaked bag confirmed I liked it. At home, the banana fades to reveal a strong, sweet, floral scent with almonds that I adore. It only gave me a headache at 40 degrees, so I save it for fall and winter. Lasts forever, follows you all day, and on clothes, you don’t even have to say. Use a little, it’s intense.
I tried it in-store on the girl’s suggestion. On the first spray, I smelled banana and she laughed; I left with the sample, I couldn’t stop thinking about the scent, it hooked me, and I liked it, my bag was also soaked with it so I decided to buy it. On my skin, it didn’t smell so much like banana; it’s a strong, sweet floral and almond scent that ended up making me fall in love with it, only that it gave me a headache using it at nearly 40 degrees; I’ll use it on fresh autumn and winter days. It lasts a long time, it accompanies you all day, and on clothes, needless to say. Be subtle when applying, since it is, as its name says, intense.
Perfect. Its name says it all: I love it.
I tried this in-store and found it confusing. From the first spray, I smelled almonds and sandalwood, very dry, nothing creamy like I expected from Perfect Intense. The trail is moderate, longevity is good, but it wasn’t what I was looking for.
One of the few worth restocking. Simply beautiful. I rarely have reservations, but this baby is worth every penny. Smells like crunchy, almost edible almonds bathed in honey. The narcissus and night flower are distinct, and the sandalwood is super creamy. Amika, if you love sweet scents and nuts, what are you waiting for? Buy it. Moderate longevity, about 6 hours, and for me, no problem with reapplying.
A delight that forced me to restock. Perfect balance: sweet without being overwhelming, with that unexplainable banana note that’s impossible to ignore but absolutely charming.
Toasted almonds. Freshly toasted. Yum. Elegant. Sophisticated. Perfect Intense transforms the smell of toasted almonds into a very trendy perfume.
People who say this has a banana touch 🍌 (just like the first Perfect) probably had their sense of smell affected by COVID, because this has NOTHING to do with that note; it’s just the marketing and the bottle with its banana ornament (a classic symbol of circus banana jokes 🎪) trying to associate it exactly with the perfume. 🤦🏻♀️
A delicious perfume, a mix of banana and almond scent with a floral touch, very well blended. The aroma is very pleasant and I even like it more than Perfect.
It’s the most autumnal perfume I’ve ever smelled… and muuuuy elegant <3. It smells like white flowers with toasted almonds. It's not very sweet, but there might be a hint of banana as mentioned. The longevity is great; it lasted until the next day. I feel a bit old-fashioned about it, so it doesn't fascinate me, but it's great for going to work or formal situations!
I thought it was very pretty, but I only noticed the 🍌 note for the first 10-15 minutes; after that, it fades and I notice the rest stays very close to the skin. But I liked it.
I liked it a lot. It’s now on my wishlist after testing it at a perfumery. Quite a trail, a bit weird the opening… I only fell in love once it dried down. I sense an artificial banana, like gummies or candies. With something fresh but sweet and elegant. I liked this combination; I just need to get used to the weird chemistry the opening notes do with my skin until the banana treat comes out.
Very intense, almost gives a headache if you get too close to smell it, but that banana vibe is cool; it’s almost between candy and green. I find it very interesting. I still don’t know if I love it, but I’m very intrigued.
Very, very, very similar to Eros EDP; I bought it blindly because of the nutty notes and it disappointed me so much. Edit and correct: when I sprayed one on each wrist, the almond in PI is very noticeable. I like it more and more.
PERFECT INTENSE, I LOVE YOU! jajaja, I fell in love from the first minute; it filled my heart and my nose. At first, you don’t know what to make of this special potion; despite having few notes, it’s super interesting and sensual, cheerful, sophisticated, and striking. It smells like banana and creamy almonds, and inside that, wrapped in that banana syrup that softens quickly, are the beautiful little jasmine flowers I knew as ‘night scent’, along with narcissus—delicious, white, thick, creamy, sweet… intoxicating and magnificent. It’s a feminine and empowering perfume, but not in the ‘boss lady’ sense; rather, it makes you feel powerful because you smell incredibly good and people notice. I’ve been complimented so much; it’s a bit heavy for hot weather, though I love it so much that the climate doesn’t limit me; I’ve worn it all year. Maybe in extreme heat it’s not ideal for some, but for cool temperatures, rainy days, or cold… uuuuuufff, it’s a wonder. It lasts more than 6 hours with decent projection and trail; it lasts days on clothes and you can smell it from a distance. For me, it’s addictive; I always need to have it; it’s almost my signature. Yes, you should test it first 🙂
It smells like baby powder to me and it’s disgusting, plus it lasts a breath. I regret buying it blindly.
Perfect Intense is a gem from Marc Jacobs 💛 Upon application, it smells of sweet, toasted almonds with a green touch of rhubarb (undeclared). As it dries, a sweet, ripe narcissus explodes alongside creamy sandalwood and banana (undeclared), creating a super warm and intoxicating aroma, very distinct from other perfumes. It’s sweet, almond-y, yellow floral, woody, and fruity (with that hidden banana note like in the EDP), and slightly green from the rhubarb. Definitely you feel it’s a flanker of the Perfect, it’s about 80% similar, but that 20% gives it its unique charm. It’s sweeter, more almond-y, with the narcissus and woods more pronounced than the EDP. Its performance is incredible: on my skin it lasts about 9 hours (or more, sometimes I smell it the next day). The first hour projects strongly, then moderately, and the last two hours are soft but present. It also leaves a trail as you walk. I get so many compliments and people ask for the name. 1000/10, I adore it 💛☀️ Curiously: my mom says it reminds her of the Narcisse EDT by Chloé, so much so that I gifted her a bottle since the other one is discontinued and she loved it.
It sounds somewhere between Girl of Now and This is Her.
I own the classic Perfect and it’s more similar in the rhubarb, but at the same time it’s different because it smells like chewable banana caramel with moisturizing cream. The result is rich, not loud or cheap. I liked it but I prefer the classic.
It has nothing to do with Girl Of Now. 😕
What stands out most are the narcissus with bitter almond and a touch of sandalwood. They say there’s a hidden banana… I’m only just noticing it now, a year after buying it and it’s well-macerated (and it’s not a strong banana, just a hint of sweetness). Marc Jacobs perfumes usually don’t last, but this one carried me through the whole day (fading to skin scent in the last few hours). It’s super elegant and not invasive, perfect for indoor settings. To me, it feels very fall/winter. If it’s your favorite, I’d wear it alternated with the original for summer/spring. They seem like the ideal duo. Personally, it’s not my favorite and I’m starting to get tired of it, but I have a little bit left and I plan to enjoy it much <3
A quick splash before showering to remind myself, then the scent lingers on my skin. What lasts are the almond and wood notes, but it lacks projection. You only catch it right up against your skin.
Almonds and narcissus with caramel and praline. Banana? No.
Delicious. Reminds me of the classic Perfect but it’s in a whole other league: elegant for evening, sweet and creamy without being cloying. The almonds know what they’re doing 💯 Two friends who hate sweet scents absolutely loved it; one said it made her mouth water, imagine that. It lasted my workday and held up in formal events even in the heat without being annoying. I’m obsessed 💛
Cheap shampoo, nothing more. 👎
