Stetson by Coty (1981), a pure 80s masculine classic. Stetson embodies its era, with a harmonious balance between spicy clove notes supported by an animalic musk sweetened with vanilla and tonka.

If you’re unsure, try Avon’s Black Suede; it’s right up your alley. If you’re in the USA, check out Royal Copenhagen from Caswell-Masey (I can’t quite recall the exact brand name). And if you’re into historic houses, look into Zizanie by Molinard (or was it Fragonard?). I don’t get why they named it after a cowboy hat brand because this has nothing to do with cowboys—think horse sweat-soaked leather, manure, and body odor. Sure, they shower and go partying, but I don’t think they’d wear cologne, and if they did, it certainly wouldn’t be this. It’s a chypre, but it leans into floral and spicy notes, ending up somewhat gourmet. Basically, it’s halfway to the masculine extreme of the spectrum.

It smells like pure 80s—lots of musk and honey. It’s that kind of scent that evokes sex, like skin at the end of the day with the lingering trace of what was worn in the morning.
