If you want to smell like a millionaire, use this. It’s another level, pure class and elegance; people turn their heads at the scent. Definitely a must-have. The incense and woods give a touch of luxury, ideal for afternoon or evening dates, totally spiced.
This perfume lives up to its name: it’s a masterpiece. I love the bottle, with its aluminum strip and etched glass; the cap has weight and the logo. The scent surprised me—you don’t need to be an expert to notice the incense. It smells like an aged inkwell, very well constructed. I didn’t expect so much from Montblanc; it’s better quality than their other perfumes and truly unique. If they sold it as Tom Ford, I’d buy it without hesitation. On my skin, it projects well, with bursts even after three hours. I got it for around $90; it’s not cheap, but there are outrageous prices out there. I’ve loved it so much; it radiates seriousness and elegance.
Montblanc Black Meisterstück is smoky, leathery, and woody. It reminds me of wooden posts coated in asphalt paint, with a leather accord. The incense is more smoky than ecclesiastical. Although they say amber, to me it smells like leather and spices, and it doesn’t evolve—it’s the same from start to finish. Very elegant for special occasions or the office. I think it suits people of middle or mature age better. It lasts almost 8 hours, but the sillage is short; it only projects for the first hour, then stays close to the skin. The bottles are amazing; this one is the prettiest, it looks like an inkwell.
I bought it today and it’s a beast.
I got it as a gift in Liverpool and at first thought it smelled different, but it’s gorgeous and lasted hours on my shirt. My wife chose it for our anniversary. It’s the perfect perfume with a suit: sweet incense, minimal evolution, but lasts forever if you apply enough—easily 8-9 hours. Thanks @fragarab.
You can’t find it on sale or at discount stores, only in department stores in Spain at niche prices. The style reminds me of Jesús del Pozo’s Nightology collection, so I’m not sure if it’s worth it. Time will tell.
I tried this Montblanc line and it’s a marvel. It smells like a successful executive, a blend of incense, amber, and woods, sweet and smooth. It has that ink note they were looking for. It’s a hybrid between designer and niche, lasting an eternity. It doesn’t project much, but it’s delicious and top-tier quality. The price for 125ml is high, but exclusive and hard to find. To be honest, the best designer fragrance I’ve heard of—my next purchase.
I first smelled it at a Laundromat in Liverpool; it hit me as a very different and especially elegant scent, and I liked how long it lingered on the clothes. My wife gave it to me for our anniversary, and I’ve been wearing it since. To me, it’s a scent for when you’re dressed in a suit—it’s a bit like sweet incense and doesn’t evolve much over time, but it lasts incredibly long if you over-spray, easily 8-9 hours. @fragarab
The first time I tried it, it felt a bit overwhelming, but it’s an absolute beast. The incense shines through, giving it a super elegant and masculine touch. Perfect for formal evening dinners in autumn or winter; in heat, it fades quickly. Worth every euro for the longevity and sillage—it’s a masterpiece.
Finally! Mont Blanc with niche perfumes. It’s one of those perfumes where you say: it has a bit of this, a bit of that; but as a whole, it doesn’t resemble anything. A strong incense note comes out at first and disappears quickly to give way to the protagonist: amber, with another undeclared but very present note: ink. I loved it and will be testing its performance and trail. Elegant perfume, mature for grown-ups.
At first sniff, my expectations dropped due to the similarity to Loewe 7, but following it up, the Mont Blanc is much finer, serious, dark, and mysterious, like the trend of black-bottle fragrances. It makes me think of Bentley Absolute, but without that hyper-woody, dirty vibe; it only brings back the memory of Loewe through the incense, but Loewe goes down a sharp, soapy, fresh line that doesn’t convince me because it smells like laundry detergent. This Mont Blanc is elegant and literally delivers on the stated notes: dark incense with amber and a hint of cool green in the background. I liked it a lot. It’s a matter of personal taste, but it doesn’t overwhelm or seem to disgust those who smell it. Excellent edition: I tested it on skin and it’s a different experience. The opening is like realistic ink; as it settles, the notes become more understandable, I detect a woody part, and the incense stands out. It’s an incense/woody, dark/greenish perfume, a little earthy herbal but very friendly. If you put it all together, it’s that particular ink aroma. I think it’s very good, balsamic, deep, dark, elegant, intimate, and smoky; the notes are exactly what they should be, I just feel the amber fades quite a bit on my skin.
A fragrance that breaks the Mont Blanc mold, a powerful niche with influences from Loewe 7 and Nasomatto’s Duro, but with its own life. An experience to enjoy.
Basic but wonderful. A perfume that emanates spirituality; the combination of its three elements (incense, amber, and vetiver) creates an atmosphere that projects calm, wisdom, and maturity.
What a brutal collection this is from Montblanc. The four releases are excellent, original, characterful, even bold. The downside is that designers price them almost at niche levels for a scent that blends in with everything else. Black Meisterstück is a hard, solid, direct composition with just three notes; at first, it features incense that might remind you of Loewe Anónimo, but it goes elsewhere. It evolves into dark woods, dry, bitter, almost medicinal, with barely any amber. Imagine if it were warmer for winter, but instead, this works well almost year-round. It’s for informal yet serious occasions, with a furrowed brow. It’s a rough and distinguished perfume. Performance is fair, lasting 5 to 6 hours, which is enough, projecting for about an hour. Quite unique, and despite the price, it’s definitely worth it.
Extremely powerful, not because of longevity or projection, but because it smells like power. I don’t know a similar aroma; it’s unique. People say it resembles one thing or another, but I don’t know; it’s truly outstanding across the entire Mont Blanc line, by far the best. It has become my signature scent. Try it.
What an incredible collection; these four Mont Blancs are great: original, intentional, even bold. The downside is that designers charge almost niche prices for a scent that blends in with everything else. Black Meisterstuck is tough, solid, and direct, with three notes: it starts with incense (reminds me of Loewe Anónimo) but evolves into dark, dry, bitter, almost medicinal woods, barely ambered. Imagine something warmer for winter, but this works almost year-round. It’s for going out informally yet seriously, with a furrowed brow. It’s a tough and distinguished perfume. Performance is fair, 5 to 6 hours, projecting maybe an hour. Quite unique; aside from the price, it’s worth it.
It’s one of those fragrances you need to have explored the world of perfumery to truly understand and appreciate, and yet you might still not like it. It’s dark incense with a sweet, amber touch. Yes, it reminds me a bit of ink. It makes me think of Bentley for Men Absolute. Definitely don’t buy blind, even if you’re experienced.
What an elegant perfume; the incense lingers on the nose for a long time. I was surprised…
Very elegant, dark, and exquisite scent. I’d sensed it before, and after digging through my memory, I confirm it’s very similar to Antonio Banderas’ Secret Temptation, though with higher-quality ingredients.
Got mine! A girl sold it to me at a steal for almost a brand-new tester. If you want to know what it smells like, look up Old Spice Supremacy deodorant. At first, I regretted buying the Dynasty because it felt boring and old-fashioned, but then I grew to love it. With the Mont Blanc, I loved it the moment I opened it, but felt like I’d smelled it before. Later I realized: they aren’t identical, but it serves as a perfect reference point.
Love at first sight. When I smell it, I close my eyes and get transported to a large, dark, cold Gothic cathedral filled with wood, where a mystical smoky incense hovers. It draws me in with the echo of my steps toward an ancestral and deep ceremony, attracting me with the sweetness of the amber to participate… Simply irresistible, a fragrance that unlocks your imagination, to use as a personality complement and not just a requirement. The best thing I’ve found this year.
A scent totally different from the commercial stuff, a strong and elegant incense. At times it smells like a church, but it’s rich and subtle. Excellent for cold autumn and winter days.
A dark incense perfume, ecclesiastical, smoky, with body but airy, mysterious and ritualistic. For men, to stand out and look sharp. The amber isn’t sweet, but cold—I perceive it that way. It adds body, a cold sensation, almost resinous and metallic. The vetiver is barely earthy but adds freshness. The incense dominates; it’s almost linear. Performance (on dry skin): 7 hours well-projecting, then 2 more as a skin scent. Sillage: heavy and moderate for 1.5 hours, then moderate for another 1.5 hours before fading by the 4th hour. Age: 24+. Projection: shoulder to wrist for 2 hours, big bubble that decays to personal space. Seasons: fall, winter, cool spring days, and nights. Occasions: formal, work, parties (if you don’t like sweet scents), or dinner. More of a night scent, though works on cloudy days.
A well-dark perfume, very close to Loewe 7 and Anonyme. An incense that instead of a church takes me to the opposite side: witches, spells, occultism (everyone has their own thing). It’s very elegant, but it might not be for everyone. If you know and like Loewe, buy it blind; if not, test it first. Black Meisterstück is 100% nocturnal, ideal for cold weather, works great on cool spring nights, and has excellent longevity. I really like it, giving it 10 points. Cheers.
A very dark perfume, very close to the Loewe 7 and Loewe 7 Anónimo. The incense doesn’t make me think of a church; rather, it takes me to the opposite side: witches, spells, occultism (well, everyone has their own take). It’s very elegant, but I understand it might not be everyone’s cup of tea. If you know and like the Loewe scents I mentioned, buy it with your eyes closed; otherwise, test it first. Black Meisterstück is 100% nocturnal, ideal for cold climates, though it also works well on some cool spring nights, with excellent longevity on skin. I really like it and give it 10 points. Cheers to the community.
I loved it. It feels very similar to Sauvage Elixir right from the start.
It’s the same as Colors Man Black by Benetton. Nothing more to search for. Strong as hell.
Same as Colors Man Black by Benetton. Nothing else to search for. Strong as hell.
On skin, it comes out sweeter and more amber than I expected; on paper, it smells harder and colder. I’m not sure about the trail yet, I’d need to smell it on someone else. For now, it’s good and I like it. I got it super cheap, almost a third of the retail price. Extreme Leather is still my favorite in the line, but Black M has better performance.
Totally in the same vein as Loewe 7… I thought it would be more potent. It has good longevity, but I consider it overpriced for what it offers, just like the Elixir. They’ve really raised their prices, but they are rich, elegant incense scents.
First spray hits with an intense amber and incense vibe, like stepping into a temple from the early 1900s. Lasts easily over 12 hours; the trail is strong for the first 6 hours, then it becomes a skin scent. The only downside is the price in department stores, though you can get it for a fraction of that at duty-free or Privalia. Scent: 8/10, Longevity: 10/10, Price: 7/10.
Picked it up on Vinted, a 2ml sample that I’ve been wearing with a splash of alcohol. The incense is tamed and soft, nothing harsh or overpowering. If I find a bottle at a good price, I’ll definitely grab it.
