Extreme Leather by Montblanc is floral, leathery, and woody. It opens with a floral-earthly iris root note that doesn’t feel powdery but rather vegetal. A few minutes later, the leather rises with musk, making the scent quite luminous compared to other leather fragrances. It’s for daily and daytime use, though it can also be enjoyed at night. At one point, it gave me an olfactory illusion of ink (though the one with actual ink is Patchouli Ink). You can wear it day or night, in any season, even in summer with rain. It’s elegant, suitable for formal, casual, or wedding occasions. It lasted between 8 and 9 hours with regular projection; noticeable but not invasive. For those seeking a brighter rather than darker leather, it’s a good option. Although expensive, compared to other exclusive lines it’s less pricey; I hope the price drops soon.
Blind buy that exceeded my expectations. Soft, elegant leather with a slight powdery touch; I love it.
Love at first sniff; it felt very similar to Dior Homme Intense, just fresher, brighter, and more floral. If DHI is more formal and nocturnal, this is less formal (but not informal) and diurnal.
Bought it last week; it’s a fragrance with very wearable leather, a mature scent I don’t think suits anyone under 30. In my opinion, it works in any climate except extreme heat. A great fragrance, good compliments, and more versatile than I expected—I’ve really liked it.
Sincere but not disappointing. It’s not new in the leather-and-iris realm, but it climbs the podium thanks to its mysterious smokiness and a slightly non-fruity edge. Refined iris, noble and elegant leather, with a slightly sticky animal touch. To keep it brief, the comparison to Ombré Leather and Dior Homme Intense isn’t bad; imagine it as a layering. They combined two legends in one bottle with their heroic charm. Grande Montblanc, it’s another heart favorite. P.S.: Need to test it more to see the longevity and sillage.
Honest and no disappointment: it’s nothing new in leather and iris, but it hits the podium thanks to that mysterious smoky touch and a slightly non-fruity note that I personally enjoy. Refined iris, noble and elegant leather, with that slightly sticky animal touch also present. To keep it brief, the comparison to Ombré Leather and Dior Homme Intense is spot on. Imagine it as a layering piece. They combined two legends into one bottle, of course, with their heroic and redeemable charm. Big fan of Montblanc, another heart favorite. P.S.: Need to test it more to check longevity and sillage. Cheers.
Just tested it on blotter and was very impressed; I’ll give it a chance on skin, but here’s an early description: it’s the leather of Dior Fahrenheit with the iris of Prada L’Homme Intense on top. Edit: it’s not that Prada iris; it leans more toward niche perfume iris. It reminds me of my first day at a niche perfumery that opened in Buenos Aires, testing all the irises. It’s between earthy and green. Despite being a used combination, it’s an original and easily recognizable composition I’ve tested. It’s becoming one of my favorites. Performance is linear; the iris fades quickly and doesn’t last long, with average projection.
I tested it on blotter first and found it interesting, but when I ordered a sample from eBay, I realized I had confused it with another scent. On skin, it was a total disappointment. I love iris, but this has nothing to do with what I expected. It literally smells like rubber boots or shoe polish. The best part was ordering the sample before buying. Definitely not for me, though if you’re looking for a new-shoe or fresh-leather scent, it might be your style.
I first tested it on blotter paper in a store and found it interesting, but it seems I confused it with another perfume since I ordered a sample via eBay. When I tested it on my skin, it was a total letdown. I love iris fragrances, but this has nothing to do with what I expected. On my skin, it literally smells like rubber boots or shoe polish. The best thing I did was order the sample before buying. Definitely not for me, but if you’re looking for a scent that reminds you of a brand-new shoe or freshly broken-in leather, this might be your style.
Tested on skin today, it’s a work of art. It has the leather of Fahrenheit without being gaseous, adding a soft iris and a light smoky base. Imagine stepping into a luxury car with the finest leather upholstery you’ve ever seen. I’d buy it without hesitation, 9/10.
Smells elegant, blending silky leather with a medium earthy and herbal iris. At first, it reminds me of Ombré Leather, but the iris gives it a distinct twist. The drydown reveals that woody freshness. As it settles, the iris mutes, leaving a rounded leather with a subtle woody floral base. The final balance is correct; no single note dominates. It’s an elegant fragrance, nothing extraordinary—I expected something more complex given the name ‘Smoked Iris,’ but I never detected any smokiness. Ideal for semi-formal or formal wear.
Extreme Leather plays with expectations right from the name. You expect aggressive, rough, dominant leather… but what it offers is elegance, control, and refinement. That’s where its charm lies. The nose, Juliette Karagueuzoglou, demonstrates her balance and depth with a blend reminiscent of two pillars: the dry, modern leather of Tom Ford’s Ombre Leather and the soft, clean, musky freshness of Prada L’Homme. The result is a polished, accessible leather that keeps its character without being heavy. The most enchanting part is how it behaves in the air: it doesn’t invade or trample, dispersing slowly like an elegant whisper that stays without saturating. It has that enveloping quality that doesn’t fill the room but leaves a soft, constant trail, as if the leather and iris are blending with the environment. Ideal for the man who dresses with intention: a well-tailored shirt and tie, but instead of a blazer, a leather jacket. A mix of formality and contained rebellion. It doesn’t seek to please everyone, but it will charm those who understand that true power lies in subtlety. It’s not an extreme leather… it’s leather with class.

Phenomenal that Iris-Leather blend. One of my all-time favorites. Projects very well (people tell me it has great sillage, though I don’t feel it as much). Montblanc really shined with their Private line.
Blind buy that exceeded my expectations. Soft, elegant, and slightly talc-like leather; I love it.
My favorite since I got it. I was looking for leather and iris but something more versatile for the office, and I was surprised: it’s not heavy, even using it on sunny days. Grandiose, it smells like quality, and although it’s a shame it’s not popular, it suits me to avoid being as mass-market as Jean Paul Gaultier or Versace.
My favorite perfume since I bought it. I was looking for something with leather and iris but more versatile for everyday office wear, and honestly, I was quite surprised: it’s not heavy, and I even wear it in the morning even when it’s sunny. I definitely found what I had in mind. Grandiose, it smells of quality, and although it’s a shame it’s not as popular, it works for me so I don’t end up wearing something as overused as Jean Paul Gaultier or Versace that everyone uses.
Reminds me of Prada L’Homme Intense, nothing groundbreaking… after trying several leather scents, the best is Tom Ford Ombre Leather or some of its other options.
I received it today. As I read, it’s a mix of Tom Ford Ombre Leather but without DH or Prada L’Homme Intense, instead featuring Tuxedo (even its clone, Moustache EDP). Interesting because it’s the same perfumer. In the opening, it reminds me of the mentioned iris notes, but then the leather gains strength, pushing the iris to the background. Either way, it’s very rich and enjoyable.
A gem that surprised me. Montblanc created something masterful in their Private line without being too expensive. Despite the name, it’s not heavy or overwhelming; it’s soft leather and iris with incredible versatility. Ideal for any season, it doesn’t bother or overpower. The leather is clean and natural, the iris is earthy and talc-like (similar to Prada L’Homme), and as it dries, a soft animal musk emerges that invites closeness. It’s a very versatile leather and iris combo. The only downside is longevity, barely lasting past 6 hours on skin and up to 8 or 12 hours off depending on the weather. A masterpiece every man should try.
Total disappointment. A bland aroma that leaves any iris or leather from Massimo Dutti looking like it’s made of asphalt.
For everyday wear if you want to make an impression. Good projection with a clean leather scent, less intense than other brands. I recommend it for work or casual events where you want to stand out. Lasts about 6 hours.
It’s my signature now. Clean, versatile, and elegant—perfect for daytime without getting too hot. As @RobertSandovalll says, it smells like skin testosterone. Medium longevity, but 10 sprays cover it. In short: subtle, clean, and high quality.
