Individuel by Montblanc is a woody oriental fragrance for men. Launched in 2003, this composition was created by perfumer Pierre Bourdon. The top notes unfold lavender, cinnamon, pineapple, juniper berries, mint, bergamot, rosemary, cardamom, and coriander; the heart reveals orange blossom, violet, geranium, and jasmine; while the base notes close the structure with raspberry, vanilla, sandalwood, dark chocolate, musk, amber, patchouli, vetiver, and oakmoss.

  • In my opinion, it’s good for casual use. In the heat, I find it a bit heavy, but in the cold, it works great. The trail is low, so it’s a bad option for parties or open spaces. For daily wear at the office or school, it’s fine: it’s a calm, elegant, and interesting lotion for closed spaces and mild weather.

  • Sweet and metallic vintage scent from the 80s and 90s… No doubt it’s Joop Homme. Strong and long-lasting, beast mode. For people between 30 and 100 years old.

  • I don’t see the versatility they claim; it becomes tiring and very synthetic, smelling literally of raspberry-scented floor cleaner. Plus, it gave me a slight headache. If you want to smell like a clean public restroom, go for it. 3/10.

I always had it on my wishlist and hesitated to buy it, but the wait was worth it. Here in Mexico, we had the ‘buen fin,’ like a local Black Friday, and I took advantage of the deal. It’s effervescent, metallic, herbal, and aquatic like its bottle. It smells sparkling, luminous, and intoxicating. Violet and lavender floral notes at the start, then a fruity sweetness with pineapple and cardamom, a touch of fine cinnamon, and a finish of velvety sandalwood and musk. It’s a perfect hybrid for any occasion, weather, or age. The bottle is spectacular, square, and chrome. I consider it the perfume of the future, versatile and timeless.

  • Santiago_bermu

Sweet and metallic with fruity and clean notes. I think you need to apply more for it to show up, but for the price, it’s good. 8/10.

Let me take you down… Strawberry Fields. INDIVIDUEL by Montblanc remains a hit since 2003. It’s one of the spiciest I’ve tried, a burst of cinnamon. It smells sweet, fruity, and slightly powdery. Yes, it gives that laundry softener vibe, but it also brings to mind blueberry and strawberry fields. Friendly, warm, and cozy, perfect for dressing casually on cold days.

  • I tried it as a decant and it smells a lot like Nivea deodorant. The scent isn’t bad, but it left me indifferent. It clings to clothes, it just lacks character. I’ll give it another try.

  • A very particular aroma, nothing to buy blindly. I love that mix of fruit and metal; it smells super elegant. Ideal for fall and winter. Recommended.

  • Very synthetic, metallic, and sweet scent with raspberry; the blend is sophisticated but lacks naturalness for me. Better to test before spending.

  • Curious perfume that I absolutely love. On the skin, it starts sweet, fruity, and metallic. Over time, it turns very smoky, almost like wood, but in a good way, like a dark, elegant incense. 10/10, but it’s not for everyone.

  • Joop Homme with chocolate. I don’t like this one or the regular Joop. I can’t stand the chocolate in this one and the jasmine in the other. Better to test before buying; these aren’t for everyone. But hey, it’s all about taste.

  • Rodrigo.Aguilera

Be careful, this isn’t for summer. Even though it seems fruity and fresh, it’s deceptive: it smells sweet, powdery, metallic, and heavy, with lots of synthetic strawberry like air freshener or medicine. At 23 with casual clothes, I don’t see myself wearing it; it looks like a suit fragrance. It’s elegant, mature, and sophisticated, better for winter or cold spring. Don’t buy blindly.

  • Synthetic but tolerable. Fresh, but I didn’t like it. You can’t detect all the notes and it doesn’t last long on the skin, though it holds up a bit more from a distance. Good for young people or for the gym. Lasted over 15 hours on clothes.

  • typpeorange835

I received mine today and I agree with you. I expected something potent and synthetic as they say, but it’s so light you can’t smell it from a distance. It stays right on the skin; you have to sniff it like a dog. I’m tired of these brands’ reformulations; they’re laughing at us.

  • david_david

Bought this based on good reviews, but it was a letdown. Smells very soft, bland, and doesn’t last at all. You can’t smell it after a few minutes; it just smells ‘clean’ at first and then vanishes. No personality, totally standard. I don’t get the hype. For this price, there are much better options. According to Checkfresh, it’s from September 2021. The marketing for this Individuel is brutal.

  • Beware of those who only put on a pretty face and style. There are many perfumes that are scams, whether niche or mainstream—don’t fall for it.

  • Jaguar99

Jeremy Fragrance recommends it and he’s right: it’s affordable and smells just like Creed Original Santal, but at a fraction of the price. Perfect for mild or cold weather.

  • pedropablomiro

Forget about this and those YouTubers who know nothing. Montblanc Individuel smells disgusting, synthetic, and low quality. 1/10. Batch: 08G25G144 (2016).

  • Chewbacca71

Fresh and pleasant, but it didn’t win me over. You can’t even detect all the notes, and it lasts barely any time—no sillage at all. Perfect for teens or the gym, but it’s gone in 15 minutes. Don’t waste your money; there are better options at this price.

  • It’s sweet, from the Joop Homme line but more wearable and less aggressive. They don’t smell the same, even though many compare them; they’re in the same family. Individuel is a pleasant gourmand with raspberry, vanilla, lavender, cinnamon, and dark chocolate, with an infinity of floral and sweet notes. It lasts me over 12 hours with moderate to high projection. Ideal for autumn and spring. When the bottle runs out, I won’t buy it again; I enjoyed it, but I don’t have an intrinsic need to own it always. We met, enjoyed the time together, and the memory will remain etched on my nose. Give it a chance 🙂

  • My god, what a complex perfume. I love the dry down; it’s a delicious raspberry. The other notes are strange, synthetic, and metallic, but rich for me. The projection is very weak and the longevity is moderate to low. I bought it and hated it due to poor performance, so I put it away. When I finally used it, it was a bomb; my partner was hypnotized. It’s sweet but not gourmand, more foppish, and I wear that Montblanc lavender in a super masculine way. I’m still thinking about whether to buy it again. If the performance were better, it would be a beast.

  • Polperfumeman

It smells like detergent or chemical solvent, nothing pleasant. I bought it while collecting Montblancs, and it’s the worst of the brand I’ve tried; I’ve tested most of them.

  • Individuel is complex, powdery, and sometimes misunderstood. Every time I wear it, I feel different things. Fruity and powdery notes dominate. I’ve received compliments on how different it smells. It’s worth it if you’re looking for something affordable, designer, and different for everyday wear. If you’re looking for something for special events or nights out, there are better options. The longevity is good: it projects for 2 hours and lasts 4 hours close to the skin. If you already have it, don’t discard it; try it and experiment.

  • I’ve worn this since I was 30, before YouTube and influencers took over. It’s the fragrance of my life, the one I use most and with which I merge 100%. I don’t know how many bottles I’ve bought, but since December 2023, I haven’t noticed any reformulation. It lasts me over 10 hours and smells on clothes for two days. I don’t understand the people complaining about performance.

  • I’ve been using it for two years; it was my first perfume. It’s incredible, sweet, and very versatile. When you first apply it, it smells fresh and aromatic without being cloying. It’s a compliment machine at a great price. It smells like vanilla, raspberry, and chocolate, but the lavender balances the sweetness. It has an air of Joop Homme but isn’t the same; this is more versatile and not just for cold weather. A marvel.

  • With all its aromatic ingredients, it’s very wearable and not cloying. It feels fresh and hard to get bored of.

  • Rodrigrx365

It’s a very personal fragrance; it doesn’t leave a trail and has a short lifespan, lasting around 2 to 4 hours.

  • Honestly, it felt flat and soulless, just boring. In the end, I gave it to an uncle because it didn’t do anything for me.

  • I agree with the similarity to Joop!, but without reaching the exaggeration of the other. This Individuel is a more than interesting and versatile perfume. As for trail and longevity, I have no complaints, especially considering this price.

  • naso_en_ciernes

Most of us are guilty of hype-driven purchases, and unfortunately, few of those turn out successful. Individuel is a Joop! Homme for the office and ‘talcum-powdered,’ daytime wear. Therefore, it’s sweet, plastic, fruity, floral, and spicy, which actually offers little guidance on when to wear it… basically, it’s sweet, informal, and youthful, but I think there are hundreds of better sweet options available from Montblanc and others nowadays. It’s also unisex. Anyway, I won’t continue my critique and just emphasize: try it. The moral is that perfumes are always abandoned in a growing collection; those that no longer say much and bore the nose. They aren’t bad scents; I don’t think bad perfumes exist, but they no longer inspire you to choose them as your daily fragrance, so they just sit there gathering dust. Greetings. **Performance, longevity, and projection are short or low, despite having that sweet vibe that tends to be noticeable, or at least gives the impression of being a long-lasting perfume.

  • I usually add a review after using a perfume for a long time, so here’s my take on Individuel: I bought this from a community buddy at one of our tastings for around $16. It’s an affordable fragrance with a clean soapy DNA similar to Prada Amber Pour Home. Individuel is better for daily use due to the price, of course; if you can afford bottles and bottles of Prada, that’s always the better option. Individuel starts with a very synthetic aroma, which I imagine comes from that raspberry accord, resulting in a slightly unpleasant vibe during the first few minutes. Once it dries down, it leaves a clean scent, giving you that freshly showered feeling for about 4 hours, during which you do get a moderate sillage—at least enough for the wearer to notice they’re wearing perfume. Then it fades away; I’d give it a total longevity of about 6 hours, probably a bit longer on clothes. But I’d never highlight its performance. If you’re looking for a daily office fragrance that smells clean, it’s a great option, especially given the price. It’s also a scent that works for any climate, time of day, season, or outfit, as it’s very versatile. It’s fresh but not citrusy, clean but not elegant, with a slight sweet fruity touch but not cloying. It’s an average perfume but still highly recommended. Since I already have Prada Amber Pour Home and could afford a second bottle if needed, I don’t see the point in keeping Individuel in my collection, so I gifted it to a friend after a few weeks. It can easily be a blind buy; if you can tolerate that synthetic opening, it’s still a good perfume that won’t bother or annoy anyone. And similarly, it won’t surprise or stand out in any way. Scent: 6/10 Longevity: 5/10 Price: 10/10 Projection: 6/10 Uniqueness: 4/10 Usability: 8/10

  • A nostalgic perfume for me with a rich, versatile scent; I love it. I just wouldn’t recommend it for extreme heat.

  • Quality that deceives the price: my real experience. I use it daily and confirm: its olfactory quality far surpasses other budget perfumes. This is key because its price is notably accessible. I radically disagree with reviews labeling it ‘synthetic,’ ‘poor longevity,’ or ‘disappointing.’ In my experience: – The Scent: A perfect fusion of freshness and a touch of sweetness, but nothing cloying. It’s not overly sweet; it has an elegant balance that prevents fatigue. – Projection: Anyone who smells you will notice a quality fragrance, not a cheap aroma. It conveys sophistication without pretension. – Longevity: Contrary to negative comments, it lasts well on skin and clothes (4-6 hours on me with 4-5 sprays). – Realistic Rating: Is it the best in the world? No. But for the price, it offers an olfactory experience that competes with much more expensive fragrances. If you’re looking for something versatile for daily life, with a serene but distinguished character, it’s a safe bet. Sincere Conclusion: Forget the prejudices. Try it on your skin: you’ll discover a discreet classic that delivers without fuss. Ideal for men seeking a clean, reliable essence without breaking the bank.

  • This perfume made me fall in love with Montblanc. It’s a scent that, to date (2025), I can’t find in any other fragrance; it’s unique. I would buy it again without a doubt.

  • From Montblanc’s golden era—though the house still holds strong in the market—emerges a scent that was groundbreaking in its time (even with Joop around): a balance between fresh and sweet, different from what dominated the landscape back then. The best part is that today you can wear it without looking like everyone else; on the contrary, it adds personality and distinction against the masses. It’s a masculine perfume, seductive, addictive, and timeless. At the price it usually goes for, it’s almost a gift. That said, it’s not for everyone: it connects especially with those who grew up in an era where every launch came with a clear concept and a solid creative proposal, not with the current flood of flankers dropping every few months. Its impact was so great that even Creed released its own interpretation. Yes, with higher quality, but Individuel set the standard. A classic worth trying at least once. If it fits you, you’ll rarely let it go: an undisputed gem from Montblanc.

  • JohnLecter86

It’s one of the few fragrances in my collection that I’m completely indifferent toward. While it’s not a bothersome scent, it feels very sweet and goes largely unnoticed. Perhaps in its day it was good, but I believe this formula is now quite forgotten. That said, I think I can keep it in my collection for very occasional use. In short, not every blind buy works out.

  • Individuel by Montblanc is a fascinating fragrance that blends sweet and fruity notes with a unique aromatic character. Its lavender and cinnamon add a warm, spicy touch, while the woody, talcum-powdered, and vanilla base gives it a very distinctive softness. Despite this complex mix of fresh and spicy notes, it comes across as a very clean ‘blue’ style scent that is extremely pleasant to anyone nearby. Professional Profile: I love wearing this solely for the office. It feels very elegant and professional; its great advantage is that it doesn’t overwhelm the environment, making it ideal for enclosed spaces where you want to smell good without being intrusive. Performance & Seasons: It has excellent longevity and lasts a long time on the skin. It’s so balanced that it suits any season. However, one thing to note is that in summer, the trail isn’t as noticeable, as the heat seems to hold back its projection slightly. Verdict: It’s the perfect choice if you’re looking to project a neat, sophisticated, and reliable image during your workday.

  • Every time I smell the cap, I’m reminded of the classic pink radioactive Joop! That alone tells you this is perfume from another generation. For today’s times (2026), this Montblanc feels very old-school. The opening hits with a lavender blast (think floor cleaner), and as it dries down, you get mint and vanilla that recall the DNA of Jean Paul Gaultier. It’s a pleasant fragrance, perfect for someone in their 40s—a good aromatic-sweet scent for the office because it’s not heavy and is very well balanced. I’m in my 30s, so I’ll pass on this one. (Though it doesn’t seem like a bad choice for an adult). P.S.: I find this Montblanc version infinitely more wearable than the Joop! one.
