Pure ecclesiastical incense. Nothing more, nothing less. I only remember one Holy Week afternoon with the thrones passing and nerves on edge at one of the most iconic events in my Málaga. Worth a sniff, but I wouldn’t wear it personally.
Magnificent perfume of excellent quality from the Dolce & Gabbana Velvet collection. Luxury packaging befitting the price, featuring a purely oriental fragrance. It revolves around incense, an ecclesiastical and ‘clean’ one, supported by a base of myrrh, amber, and vanilla that makes it much more wearable than other incense-led scents. It’s very sober and formal, purely winter-appropriate. A power perfume that requires character and leans masculine. High longevity and medium projection, with no complaints about performance. Almost mystical, highly recommended if you’re an incense lover. The only downside is the high price, which in my opinion is worth it. It would be a niche alternative to the legendary and reformulated Loewe 7.
VELVET INCENSE DOLCE & GABBANA: The best in the line for my taste. Incense is one of my favorite notes, though it can be hard for others to digest; it’s usually opulent, sometimes heavy and dark. But here, all that is perfected, with a subtle velvet softness that makes it easy to wear. It’s the most charming incense I’ve ever tried. It’s not scandalous, but beautiful, elegant, and tranquil. It conveys warm, comforting sobriety. A finesse of stillness and peace. An educated, distinguished personality. The boss’s scent. A fabulous fragrance full of richness, exuberance, and fortune. Scent: 10. Projection: moderate. Longevity: 8 hours. Recommended, though the price is high.
I searched high and low for something suitable for religious events or solemn ceremonies, and wow, I found it in Velvet Incense. The scent is quite ecclesiastical and rich, though a bit sharp for my taste. It has a decent trail and moderate projection. The longevity is around 10 hours; it’s excellent for formal occasions, ideal for dressing elegantly with that touch of authority. Worth it if you enjoy smoky and woody scents, especially if you like incense.
I’m a woman. I wore it today, and yes, it smells like church incense, but it’s missing something pagan, so to speak. Maybe it’s the perfect scent for the Priest in Fleabag. I like it on myself; I wore it on a cold Christmas day. No one told me the classic ‘you smell great,’ but I did feel comforted.
