Finally got my hands on it! For me, the coconut is quite subtle, but it’s undeniably rich and stays true to the Angel spirit. It’s one of the most wearable options for summer; on my skin, the pineapple, patchouli, and a hint of vanilla really stand out. The trail is potent at first but softens within the first hour. It lasts for hours on me, and others can still smell it at least 6 hours later without it being overwhelming. If you’re an Angel fan, I highly recommend it, and the bottle is gorgeous.

I saw it by chance today, and after the surprises Mugler has brought me this year, I couldn’t resist testing it. I liked it quite a bit because it seems fun, cozy, and summery, though it didn’t blow my mind. It opens fresh, very fresh, like refreshing coconut water with a very syrupy pineapple, nothing cloying. Soon its vanilla comes out, and it starts feeling very creamy and sexy with tiny earthy touches. Although it doesn’t smell like sunscreen (big plus) and I prefer other more interesting coconut fragrances, it deserves credit for being very wearable on these late summer and night evenings. If you like beachy coconut and are a lover of festive, summery, and formal aromas, you will love this. And for another plus, although I didn’t test it on skin, I feel it has good longevity, as I could smell it all day on my dry skin. Its bottle is very beautiful.

  • While I like it, the truth is I don’t love Angel Iced Star. There are other Angel stars I prefer over this version. Reading the notes, I thought it would be a piña colada, and I was surprised that on my skin, the pineapple stands out much more, along with the praline and patchouli, more than the coconut. This note comes out later, in its dry-down, always subtle. It varies from person to person, as the coconut develops differently depending on the pH. To be a piña colada, it lacked the liquor and lactonic touch. Its performance is decent, moderate longevity like an EDT. The trail is moderate; I wouldn’t mind wearing it even in hot seasons. It’s a very fresh, fruity tropical scent, almost vacation-like. It’s quite good, I like it, I insist, but it doesn’t break the mold; it’s not innovative or out of the ordinary. In short: it didn’t seem extraordinary to me, but it is a scent very much to my taste because I adore pineapple with praline touches and earthy green airs (patchouli). Rating 6/10.

  • It’s a perfume that smells very good; what I smell most is coconut, it lasts quite a while, and its trail goes beyond the arm. The only thing is that it’s quite expensive, but otherwise I recommend it, better for summer and for daytime.

So here, Mugler is like taking any summer Escada fragrance and refilling it into an Angel star. It smells neither like Angel nor like Mugler. It smells like a tropical body mist. Unpleasant? No. Rich? Yes. Would you buy it? No. It’s neither novel, nor has character, nor fixation, nor trail… the only thing that caught my attention was its bottle, which is indeed divine.

  • I like it, but I don’t love Angel Iced Star. There are other stars in the line I prefer. Reading the notes, I thought of a piña colada, but on my skin, the pineapple, praline, and patchouli dominate over the coconut, especially as it dries down. It’s always subtle, though it varies depending on individual pH. It lacks that liquorish and milky touch to be a true piña colada. Performance is decent with moderate longevity and sillage, similar to an EDT. It’s fresh, fruity, and vacational, but it doesn’t break the mold or feel innovative. In short: not extraordinary, but I like it for those notes of pineapple, praline, and green patchouli. Rating: 6/10.

Mugler, now that it’s not Thierry Mugler, could perfectly launch new lines with other names and leave Angel with what it has. To summarize (my experience, nose, and skin pH): it’s a piña colada body mist. To me, it smells like piña colada, period. Nothing more. As an EDT, you can’t expect more from its longevity and trail: 4 to 6 hours, projecting well for the first two and then at very close range. The bottle is divine, but the habit doesn’t make the monk. It’s focused on summer, but on very hot days, it can give you a sugar rush. Conclusion: it doesn’t smell bad, but don’t categorize it as Angel because Angel isn’t it. If I were blindfolded and tested it, I’d say it’s an Escada fruity-chouli or a Victoria’s Secret body mist. I wouldn’t even consider putting it under Mugler. Never.

Agreeing with others, this new Angel star is nothing novel and resembles a summer Escada perfume more than a Mugler. At first, it smells like piña colada, but after 10 minutes, only strong coconut remains. For summer? Yes, but I recommend it more for night or cloudy days; the coconut note is quite heavy and can be overwhelming on very hot days. It reminds me a lot of Yves Rocher’s Coconut Nut.

  • To start, it only has the name ‘ANGEL’, so if you don’t like that DNA, don’t worry. For me, this perfume is incredibly rich, cheerful, totally summery, tropical, and very sweet. It’s not innovative at all, true, but it’s still a good scent. Its opening is a powerful bomb of a piña colada cocktail, where the pineapple is more noticeable than the coconut. After some time, it settles into a more subtle, very creamy coconut scent, nothing like typical sunscreen. I don’t find any resemblance to ‘Angel’ or the typical ‘Mugler DNA’ of patchouli. The performance isn’t like classic Muglers either, but it’s an EDT and performs well as such. It doesn’t seem polarizing; I think it’s made to please many. Would I buy it? At the original price, no, it’s not special enough. Do I like it? Yes, of course. In summary: it’s good in aroma and performance, but I feel Mugler is slowly losing its edge, and it hurts to see.

  • To start, it only shares the name with ‘Angel,’ so if you don’t like that DNA, don’t worry. For me, it’s delicious, cheerful, totally summery, tropical, and sweet. It’s not innovative, but it remains a good scent. The opening is a piña colada bomb where I perceive more pineapple than coconut. Over time, it settles into a subtle creamy coconut scent, nothing like sunscreen. I don’t detect the Angel DNA or the typical Mugler patchouli. Performance isn’t the usual house standard, but as an EDT, it performs well. It’s not polarizing; I think it’s made to please many. Would I buy it? At the original price, no, it’s not special enough. But I admit I like it. It’s good in scent and performance, but I feel Mugler is blurring its identity a bit.

  • Angel died with Thierry Mugler! Mugler is not even a shadow of what it used to be. The perfume isn’t bad; it’s rich, sweet, and very novel, but it’s not an Angel—it’s a new fragrance that only uses the Angel bottle.

  • It is by far the most fruity fragrance I’ve ever smelled. I love it for any summer occasion. The downside is that after 10 minutes, you can’t even smell it on yourself due to olfactory fatigue, but if someone gets close, it’s noticeable for about two more hours.

  • I love this new generation of Mugler, though it’s unfair that it carries the name ‘Angel’ if it has nothing to do with the original, save perhaps a hint of patchouli. I tested it with a single drop, and after two hours, what stands out most is that sweet, tropical piña colada; the patchouli has softened almost completely. The coconut is very light, no sunscreen smell at all, and the pineapple rules. It reminds me of Escada’s Mango and Fig Cruisier, but this is like a Cruisier in Piña Colada. The projection is incredible—you can smell it from a meter away—and the longevity depends on your skin and the weather. I loved it so much I already bought the refill. By the way, it smells a lot like Escada’s summer editions, which are simple but enjoyable. Will L’Oréal’s plan be to release simple aromas disguised as special ‘Angel’ editions? A single spray projects more than a meter and lasts 3 to 4 hours, then stays close to the skin until the shower (more than 8 hours).

  • For now, it’s one of my favorite perfumes, mainly for spring and summer; it’s very fruity, sweet, and fresh. Really, when I smell it, it transports me to the beach; I imagine myself sitting on the sand enjoying a delicious coconut and a piña colada, the heat, and the sea breeze. I love it because it brings me happiness and tranquility. It’s very feminine, changing throughout the day, with its opening being what I like the most, which is the most fruity part. I would definitely buy it again.

  • Many people smell a piña colada in this perfume, but I think it lacks that refreshing icy touch you get when drinking it. Instead, it smells like a glass left in the sun, where the ice has melted and the heat has warmed it up too much. It’s like saying you enjoyed a beer in the middle of the heat and that it makes no sense; it just doesn’t fit.

  • Many people smell a piña colada in this perfume, but I think it lacks that touch of freshness, like when you take it and the ice gives you that refreshing sensation that tastes amazing in the middle of summer on the beach. In itself, it’s a glass of piña colada at the same time or left in the sun for a few hours; the ice has disappeared and the sunlight has heated it beyond the point of return to enjoy it. And because of that, it doesn’t fit for me; it’s like drinking a beer at the same time, saying you enjoyed it in the middle of the heat wave is impossible.

  • Today I finally got this fragrance I’ve been eyeing since last year. It’s delicious and pretty, but I find a huge similarity among all these annual releases. Iced Star reminds me a lot of Eau Croisière (2019); they just swapped the grapefruit and mango for pineapple and coconut. A slight shift in nuance. Pretty, yes, rich, and summery. If you like Mugler, you’ll probably love this, but I have to say it with regret: lately, they’re doing the same thing, meaning ‘Angel with a different fruity note every year.’ They should aim for more uniqueness. As for longevity, it’s an EDT and I must be honest: it’s quite weak. And the price isn’t either, especially if you buy it out of season and it sells out quickly, turning it into a collector’s piece.

  • Today I finally got this fragrance that I knew about last year without buying it… until today. It’s delicious, very pretty, but I find a great similarity among all these annual flankers. Iced Star resembles Eau Croisière (2019) quite a bit. They swapped the grapefruit and mango from the 2019 version for pineapple and coconut in this 2021 one… a slight shift in nuance. Pretty? Yes, it’s very rich and summery. If you like Mugler fragrances, like me, you’ll surely like it, but I have to say, much to my regret, because I’m a huge fan of Mugler’s Angels (today sadly owned by L’Oréal, and if I don’t say it, I’ll explode)… what they’re doing lately is just the same: “Angel with a different fruity note each year.” It would be great to make these special editions a bit more special and not so similar. As for longevity… it’s an EDT. I must be honest and say, with as much pain as it causes me, that the longevity is scarce. And the price of this scarce version isn’t exactly cheap, especially if you buy it out of season, as it sells out from year to year and becomes a collector’s item.

  • This perfume transports me to the beach. A bit hard to find, but totally worth it. It smells like a sweet piña colada: a fruity opening with lots of sweet coconut and pineapple. As it dries down, those notes remain, but praline and vanilla gain presence. The patchouli is almost imperceptible on my skin. It’s linear, very fruity and sweet, but not cloying; it’s refreshing. Many expect the Angel DNA, but this doesn’t have it; it could belong to another line. It reminds me of a day at the beach or a Caribbean vacation. Sillage is medium-high for the first 2 hours, drops to medium until hour 5, and lasts close to the skin for 8 hours. Perfect for summer or hot days.

  • This perfume transports me to the beach. A bit hard to get, but the wait was worth it. It smells like a sweet piña colada. Its opening is fruity, with a lot of coconut and a sweet pineapple. As it dries down, these notes remain, but on my skin, praline and vanilla start to stand out more. I barely feel the patchouli. It’s a linear, very fruity and sweet perfume, not cloying for me, but refreshing. I’ve read that many expect to detect something from the traditional Mugler Angel, but this doesn’t have the Angel DNA; it could easily belong to another line. It reminds me of a day sitting on the beach, a vacation in the Caribbean. It has a medium-high sillage for the first two hours, then drops to medium until five hours, and lasts 8 hours close to the skin. Perfect for summer or hot days.

  • Wow, what it’s like to not smell a perfume on skin. I smelled it and didn’t want to give it a chance because it smelled like mint to me, and sometimes Mugler pulls those stunts. But I wore it because I was gifted a sample, and definitely, it’s not mint: it opens with a very natural pineapple and immediately coconut, which, for obvious reasons, smells like a piña colada (a drink I know too well), although the pineapple stands out over the coconut. Then comes the vanilla, like someone made you a piña colada in a hotel with whipped cream on top, and you can’t miss the Mugler touch in the patchouli, which isn’t strong but is felt. It’s an excellent fruity perfume.

I bought it blind just a few days ago because I was surprised to find it in a physical store at a good price. What a lovely summer cocktail to be the first Angel in my collection; I have no regrets!

  • hysteria88

A Malibu and pineapple cocktail. Do I like it? Yes, but this doesn’t deserve the name Mugler. If I smelled it blind, I’d bet it was an Escada…

  • What a beautiful perfume for lovers of gourmet sweet scents. It feels edible, as some say, reminiscent of Escada, but it’s very different: it smells less synthetic and more like an expensive, desirable body mist. It’s such a pleasant summer scent that it screams beach. It’s hard to find, but it’s absolutely worth it; it lasts 8 hours on my skin and clothes until washed. It has an incredibly strong sillage. Of Mugler’s Angels, this is the one I’ve loved the most.

  • Sadly discontinued, but it smells very similar to Angel Fantasm. This bottle fit that tropical, summery vibe much better. It’s a cocktail of coconut milk, pineapple, and a patchouli base that recalls the older brother, Angel EDP. I love it, but I only use it in summer. It has nothing to do with Croisière de Mango, though both are fruity cocktails perfect for the heat. I really like this summer line from Angel. While it can be compared to Escada for being fruity, that touch of patchouli makes it much more special. Plus, the bottles are worth collecting.

  • locadelosperfumes76

I tried it and went absolutely crazy; I regret not grabbing three more bottles. It was a summer madness, literally a piña colada in a bottle. If you’re out of it, Angel Phantasm has similarities, though it’s not quite as summery, but the resemblance is noticeable.
