Coco Vanille by Mancera

Mancera Coco Vanille EDP: gearing up for summer. It’s coconut, vanilla, and tiaré in industrial quantities. At first, the coconut grabs your attention, but on my skin, the vanilla takes over. The blend is delicious, sweet, and creamy, with little evolution. It smells like suntan lotion but with way more sugar. It’s my perfect option for summer evenings (though it can be overwhelming in extreme heat). The performance surprises me: it lasts over 10 hours with constant projection, always there with every movement. The trail is fantastic, for your own enjoyment and to make others notice. The presentation is smart: 60 or 120 ml, no half-measures. The magnetic cap and silver pouch protect the clear bottle. I use it to see how much is left because when it’s gone, I’ll replace it. Who doesn’t want to relive a summer love?

I only smell coconut and white florals; I expected more vanilla than coconut. Honestly, it smells like an old lady’s coconut perfume; it’s not a good blend, I’ll probably end up selling it. I think the Victoria’s Secret Coconut Passion body splash tastes better to me.

It’s very nice, with an air of Olympia Solar, super summery, perfect for hot days. I see it as versatile; it has a very marked floral side. Delicate, simple accords, but it delivers.

A perfume without complications or stories: coconut, vanilla, and tiaré flower. No evolution, no poetry, no refinements. Mancera is that house for smelling good for many hours without spending much, with proposals for almost everyone. That’s all I can say. If you want a feminine, beachy, and tropical fragrance, not excessively sweet or synthetic, this might work for you. But if I had to stick with one in that profile, I’d choose Borabora by Giardini di Toscana.

Elegant, subtle… This perfume is as delicate as it gets and, for me, one of the sweetest vanillas I’ve tried. It seems soft, perfect for special occasions. I was looking for a perfume where vanilla would dominate, and I think I got it right. Although the opening is dominated by coconut, the dry down and what remains is pure vanilla. It’s a comforting scent.

I like it, but it’s not what I expected. On my skin, it’s not that sweet, creamy coconut bathed in vanilla I was looking for; nothing gourmand. But I was pleasantly surprised: on my skin, it’s white and yellow flowers bathed in the sun, happy and bright. When I first spray it, yes, that coconut cream note with sweet peaches comes out, but it fades quickly and the ylang-ylang takes over. They are grand, fragrant, and shine without being aggressive; they carry their presence with restraint, letting the coconut or vanilla take turns shining. They are the queens of the party. It’s not formal, elegant, or complex, but it is radiant, happy, luminous, and simply lovely. I get the beach vibe, and I understand why some girls might not like it if they’re looking for something super sweet; this is more floral. Ideal for summer and hot days, don’t overuse it because it can be too much. Lasts 8-9 hours with strong to moderate projection.

I had sky-high expectations for the coconut, vanilla, and tiare, but it disappointed me. It’s not a bad perfume, but it smells common, like many body mists. It’s ultra-sweet, and as a gourmand fan, it overwhelms me. I wore it in summer and it gets tiring; I’d use it more on cold days and maybe switch it up. It seems very similar (with better quality and performance) to Vainille Monoi by Les Petits Plaisirs, which is much cheaper. I’m sticking with other coconut and vanilla perfumes, though these stand out for longevity and quality.

I liked it, but it doesn’t kill me. Not worth buying the full bottle unless it’s your life fragrance. It’s the typical coconut with vanilla (both very gourmand and sharp), cloying. The only thing that sets it apart is its oily consistency and exquisite floral base (creamy white flowers). It smells high-quality, but it doesn’t escape being common. Anyway, a 10ml decant is more than enough.

Reminds me of Victoria’s Secret’s Coconut Passion, but here you can actually smell the floral notes. It’s a great scent—like a pastry but on another level.

Re-edit: This will always be in my top Mancera list. It was my second Mancera after Roses Vanille and surpasses everything else I own in scent and performance; it’s a gem. It can cause olfactory fatigue because it’s sweeter than caramel. If it doesn’t last more than 3 hours, don’t consider it sweet or think it’s like the Coconut Passion from VS (which I also own), because I’m speaking from experience. It has a serious skin chemistry issue: it depends on taste or skin pH, but ignore those comments. It’s a coconut and vanilla bomb almost equally at the start. Once it dries down (which takes a while), it’s one of the best white floral-vanilla scents I’ve tried. If you add to that the fact that it projects like a VS splash, you haven’t tried it enough. It has only brought me joy and stays in my top. Moderate price if you look for deals, but brutal performance. I have the one with the screw cap, luckily. With Velvet Vanille, you can tell it doesn’t last or project, and having this one, I’m grateful.

Hi. I’m new to colognes; a knowledgeable friend recommended this, so I bought the dupe clone of Divain since she had the original and the replica. On my skin, I smell more coconut than vanilla, with the flowers very in the background.

Just because this combination is overused doesn’t mean it’s ineffective for summer. I like the type of scent, but in this case, it hasn’t won me over. Montale’s Coco Vanille comes out as a creamy coconut with vanilla, rich and with fruity nuances, but then it softens a lot, almost overshadowed by the vanilla during the dry down, leaving it very linear. Although it has good projection and longevity, I don’t find as many nuances as others in the style; for example, I don’t perceive the floral facet. I know cheaper options with the same structure (similar to VS’s Coconut Passion after the initial alcohol hit, which lacks the pleasant fruity opening of the Mancera). Personally, I prefer Montale’s Intense Tiaré, signed by the same perfumer and at a similar price, but prettier and more complex. Among budget options, I love Nuxe Le Prodigieux: less creamy, more floral and intense, with good projection and 8-9 hours of longevity. I wouldn’t include this in my collection and would opt for a more original Mancera. Scent 6.5/10, Longevity 8.5/10, Trail 7/10, Value 5/10, Versatility 4/10, Packaging 7/10. Would I buy again? I didn’t buy it.

I tried it today and it reminds me a lot of VS’s Coconut Passion. I wouldn’t spend that much money on a scent like that since I already have that one, but it’s a rich coconut with vanilla. Edit 4/15/23: After almost a year with this perfume in my collection (yes, I finally managed to buy a tester), I completely retract what I said. You have to test a fragrance well before judging, otherwise, it’s not real. Comparing this to VS’s Coconut Passion is like comparing a Casio to a Rolex 😉; obviously, both tell the time, but the machinery (the nuances), what they make you feel and enjoy, are worlds apart. The creaminess of this Mancera, the white floral dry down, the longevity, the trail, and the compliments are on another level. I’m in love with this scent and will definitely repurchase when I finish it.

It has become my favorite Mancera perfume, dethroning my beloved Velvet Vanille. Vanilla and coconut are my top notes, plus Tiare is one of my favorite flowers, so this perfume seems made for me. The opening is very fruity; the coconut appears with the peach giving it a creamy touch, and as it dries down, the Tiare flower and jasmine emerge. The vanilla is so prominent and sweet that it covers the floral part, which stays very in the background. Coco Vanille is a refined and sweet perfume that brings me happiness and calm. A BOTTLED JEWEL WITH A MAGICAL EVOLUTION. I put this on and think of summer, an afternoon outing after spending the whole day at the beach, because it’s a very sunny perfume. I see it as feminine unisex. Acceptable longevity and low trail. My signature scent for the hot months, I can’t stop wearing it ❣️
