Descripción

Olympéa by Rabanne is an oriental floral fragrance for women. Launched in 2015, this composition was created by Loc Dong, Anne Flipo, and Dominique Ropion. The opening unfolds with water jasmine, green mandarin, and ginger flower; the heart reveals a combination of vanilla and salt; while the base settles on cashmere wood, ambergris, and sandalwood.

I bought it for the notes and blindly, despite doubting the saltiness, and it’s precisely that note that sticks to my nose. Indeed, it’s a scent that gives me headaches, has a huge trail, and lasts forever. It smells the same when applied as when it dries; it doesn’t evolve, and I think that’s what gets old; it feels very heavy, and I can’t distinguish the notes in the top or base. I’ve tried giving it many chances, but I think I’ll have to gift it.

  • To me, Olympéa is a beautiful young oracle guarding a Greek temple surrounded by the crystal waters of the Aegean Sea. She wears a short linen chiton and a golden laurel wreath, barefoot, strolling through the temple gardens, perfumed with this fragrance. That’s what I feel every time I smell or wear it; I feel happy, as if I need her when I’m lacking something. It’s the perfume I’d choose if I had to keep just one (I also love Legend). It makes you feel like a goddess. No need to discuss performance, but it lasts over 8 hours on skin with a trail that goes from heavy to moderate depending on sprays. It’s a high-quality perfume combining sensuality and tenderness. The best in the world, in my opinion.

  • I don’t recommend buying it blindly. The salt note is very strong and not for everyone or every occasion. It feels impossible to ignore; it’s risky. But it has a great trail and longevity. I wear it at night or when I need something that lasts.

  • I first met Olympéa Blossom, which I love to death, so I imagined this, being the first in the line, would be magnificent and unmatched. Spoiler alert: it’s a letdown. Nothing stands out; it’s not unique. And forget about longevity. I think you can wear it without issues, but it’s just another one of the crowd.

  • I have conflicting feelings about Olympéa. The opening doesn’t work for me: it’s salty and a jumble of ginger and vanilla. But after an hour and a half, it softens into something sweet and floral, which is when I like it, along with its longevity. The question is whether it’s worth waiting hours just to feel good.

I never imagined giving it a spot in my collection, but tastes change. It’s sweet, salty-marine vanilla accompanied by jasmine. Welcome to create moments and memories with you.

  • solsegovia

I owned it and loved it; I’d choose it again without hesitation. It made me feel amazing every time I wore it.

  • Playas1010

It has notes I like, like vanilla, and the woody part doesn’t feel as salty. I bought it in decants and would buy it again if it were subtle enough for daily wear.

  • kath2802

It’s not a bad scent, but I don’t understand how others can stand it. I can’t tolerate it because of that sharp saltiness and its trail, which is way too invasive.

  • It was always my signature scent in high school, but my opinion has changed over the years. On my skin, it smells clean, salty, and like jasmine, but it no longer surprises me; I feel it’s missing something. I’ve made so many memories with it, both good and bad, but I’m tired of it and won’t be renewing my bottle. Although I discovered it thanks to dupes at clothing stores, I’d stick with those—I think they have more personality.

  • I love it; I feel very feminine with this perfume. In general, I like many Paco Rabanne scents, and I’ve bought this particular one three times; I think it’s the one that identifies with me the most. For me, it’s super sweet, but not too cloying. I really love it.

  • Although not declared, on my skin it smells of very marked coconut. It’s very sweet and potent, but not annoying. It’s a perfume I wear only on my skin, and it has such power that it penetrates my clothes. I always wear it in cool weather and enjoy it.

  • Olympea is an elegant white floral; I love it. In my experience, jasmine, vanilla, and amber predominate, giving it a powdery and sober touch; perhaps the ginger adds freshness and a slight kick. I don’t perceive the feared salty note because on me it develops into a sweat-like scent. It settles into a very pleasant powdery finish. It resembles others, I suppose it has been imitated. In Mexico, a decent approximation is Diamant de Zermat, a national brand that is beautiful at $30. In Olympea, nuances stand out, but Diamant doesn’t fall short. The packaging is gorgeous; I’m happy to have the first version (unreformulated) for about $50; the first thing I noticed was that the liquid is dark amber, almost identical to the current Legend. It lasts seven hours with moderate projection; it’s not overwhelming but enveloping, which I like. It’s great in rainy weather. Who will like it: lovers of versatile florals.

  • Scent: 9. Longevity: 4 (4 hours on skin). Sillage: soft for 1 hour. Requires reapplication. Price: could be cheaper. Packaging: 9.

I always walked past it in the store until I read reviews and decided to smell it. It’s super salty, but it has a creamy and vanilla hint; on my skin, I barely notice the white flowers. I find it sensual and attractive; I’ve really liked it. Perfect for summer. I see a certain resemblance to Gaultier Divine, which I already own and don’t want to duplicate. It could be a future purchase.

I always thought poorly of this perfume; I thought it would be something vintage and bad, what a pleasant surprise. It’s a very wearable and lovely scent, definitely a white floral due to the water jasmine, but creamy from the vanilla. The salt ties it all together, giving it character without losing its softness. It’s an all-rounder, a nice gift, and a good blind buy.

  • April_ethereal

This perfume leaves a terrible marine note on my skin, and I hate marine notes. I would never buy it.

  • The first time I wore Olympéa, I felt I had a magnificent perfume in my hands. A singular complexity where the notes aren’t perceived separately, a perfect aromatic synthesis. Half an hour later, oh surprise!, it loses that majesty and on my skin it smells like Pure XS: rich, with that warm caramelized sweetness, but without that initial grandeur. Goodbye to the complexity that made it THE PERFUME. Applause, but I stick with Pure XS; being abandoned by that sublime perception disappoints me.

  • I love it. I tested it in a discovery kit alongside Lady Million (which I didn’t like) and Olympea shined so much. I don’t detect the marine or salty notes; instead, it’s something sweet but not cloying like other vanillas. It’s one of my favorites. It doesn’t last long (I can’t smell it at night), but it’s worth reappling.

  • I bought it blind because I love its sibling, Olympea Legend. At first, it smelled great, but I didn’t fall in love with it. The salty note is prominent, which works well on my skin, but it’s a super strong perfume, even for someone who wears a lot of scent. It cloyed me a bit. It’s not youthful; it’s more dignified. I’ll give it more chances.

  • I used it for a long time until the social media hype made everyone wear it, which started to bother me. It’s sweet, delicate, and elegant—perfect. It lasts on the skin hour after hour.

  • Chocolate con licor

I smell too much wood, and the jasmine only intensifies it. The vanilla doesn’t soften the bitter intensity but makes it heavier. It smells like other much cheaper perfumes, like Isadora’s Nix. It’s not delicious to me, nor is it annoying; it just smells like a sober office lady. The price doesn’t seem worth it.

  • Jess Jiménez

It awakens both hatred and admiration equally. It’s unique, spectacular, and the only one people have praised me for. Salty, spicy, and powerful without being cloying. Salt, ginger, and sandalwood dominate with jasmine. It’s enveloping, elegant, and enigmatic for cool nights. It stands out on skin and clothes, lasting over six hours on skin and days on fabric. I bought it blind and have no regrets, though I recommend testing it first.

  • madeinfrance

At first, I smelled lots of ginger and mandarin, but later it smelled like talcum powder and makeup dust—very clean and light. It’s not as potent as they say, lasts about four hours, and I can’t find the vanilla. The salt gives it a soft signature. I wouldn’t buy it again, though the scent is original.

  • Padmefragrance

At first, I thought it was strong due to the citrus and salt, but now I notice more wood and vanilla. It’s elegant, feminine, and I recommend it.

  • Bought it blind and loved it. Smells elegant, sweet, salty, and woody with a citrus undertone. I don’t detect the vanilla, but it’s a great purchase at a good price for autumn, winter, and spring nights.

  • Mayitaperfums

The scent was too intense for me and gave me a headache; I couldn’t finish the bottle. It has vanilla, wood, and salt, so I recommend it for cold weather.

  • Albaloulou

Zero charm, smells generic and cheap, like something you’d buy at a discount store for two euros. It’s sweet but lacks any elegance at all; it doesn’t convince me.

  • Ara Betancourt

Smells absolutely delicious and super elegant, with jasmine, vanilla, and salt making it perfect. It lasts forever and has incredible projection.

  • florenciaprossi

I don’t get the hype. I feel there are better summer perfumes. I have it because someone gifted it to me; I wouldn’t have bought it myself. It doesn’t project much and doesn’t last; you have to be very close to perceive it. Nothing remarkable.

  • After believing my perfumes had to be sweet, this one came as a gift. I loved it… the scent is long-lasting, and the sillage is incredible. To me, it doesn’t smell like vanilla; it’s more of a woody floral. I live in a cold climate, and the scent is perfect.

  • Brenda95gg

People who say it doesn’t last well, etc. It’s clear you haven’t tried previous versions and that it has been heavily reformulated.

  • I don’t know if it’s my skin, but the opening of this perfume felt very strong and even overwhelming, like something to wear on winter nights. Later, it feels nicer, more vanilla and woody, but at the same time, I feel this fragrance has way too many dupes. I wouldn’t buy it.

  • No, one and a thousand times no. Stop wearing this perfume at 7:30 AM. For the love of God, what terrible taste to wear something so sweet in the morning or on hot days. There’s nothing wrong with the fragrance itself, except that it’s oversaturated, duped, and people just don’t know how to wear it.

  • geomeun.apyeon

Oh, I really miss smelling the original scent from those years of this fragrance. They’ve reformulated it 😪 I don’t know how many times now. It still has the Olympea vibe, but something has changed. I wouldn’t buy it because it’s become so mainstream and duped, but years ago it was one of my favorites. I stick with Olympea Aqua, which has a stronger sillage, and Olympea Solar ♡.♡

  • I love it, one of my favorite perfumes. I adore the combination of vanilla and salt. However, I don’t recommend wearing it in summer.

  • So inane, so loud, so rustic, and it gives me a migraine. It dominates the room with shameless arrogance, bullying everyone else like a high school bully. Its mere existence annoys me.

A savory dessert. It starts with a subtle yet present spiced citrus note of tangerine and ginger, setting the stage for the real star: salted vanilla. This accord smells like a modern dessert—sweet and salty at once, pleasant without being cloying. The evolution shows how that salty vanilla softens and becomes more enveloping, transforming into a creamy texture. The cashmere and sandalwood base adds warmth and neutrality, notes found in both men’s and women’s fragrances, reinforcing its unisex character. The emotion it conveys is sophistication: a contemporary fragrance suitable for any age, perfect for dates, special occasions, and cool weather. It doesn’t feel rigidly feminine or masculine, but rather an olfactory pleasure enjoyed in a couple. My rating: 9/10. A fragrance that turns salted vanilla into a modern symbol of sensuality and a bridge between the feminine and the neo-masculine.
