The DSQUARED² Want is, without a doubt, one of my favorite perfumes. From the very first moment I tried it, I fell in love. It has a perfect balance between sweet and floral, with a spicy touch that gives it something unique. It’s not heavy, but it does have presence, so I like wearing it both during the day and for a special night out. What I love is that it’s not common; it has that sophisticated feel without being “too much.” Plus, it has incredible longevity, lasting all day without needing to reapply. For me, it’s the perfume I always want to wear because it makes me feel secure and elegant effortlessly. It’s a shame it’s discontinued; luckily, I have several backups.
Want is a beautiful, delicate vanilla with a lot of light; it conveys joy and comfort. It’s one of those scents you enjoy from the moment it’s released, a combination of pepper and ginger wrapped in a citrus aura. In the dry-down, a delicate, aromatic, slightly powdery floral accord emerges, as if you were sitting in a garden with diverse flowers after a rainy, humid afternoon. When it dries, that’s where I find the midnight of the scent: a deep, woody, addictive black vanilla, nothing gourmand. Its performance is acceptable for the price; about 6 hours on skin with medium-to-low sillage and projection, reaching high if applied on clothes. The bottle is insane, on another level; you have to hold it to appreciate it properly. Personally, I adore the bottle as much as the scent.
I admit that what I was looking for was the She Wood, and I confess that what actually attracted me was that bottle in all its variations, with its combinations of materials, colors, lights, angles, and textures… Life sometimes surprises you, and for whatever reason, I arrived late to the She and read the reviews for the Want, which, along with a well-tuned sales associate, led me to a gorgeous (as beautiful as its signature companion) Want bottle at home. And the bottle is no joke. You have to hold it to get an idea. But the contents are just as well-crafted in my opinion. To my surprise today, I even added it to the four I chose as “favorites” in my profile. And I’m realizing that after the Want, perfumes of the warm, spicy-vanilla type seem less appealing to me. Not that I don’t like them anymore, it’s that compared to this one, they don’t look as good because this one, besides feeling well-made, has a bit more freshness and light, making the others seem heavy, simple, etc., very easily.
The opening of this perfume is curious, with ginger and pepper on a citrus base. It feels very rich and interesting. When it dries, it’s a non-gourmand vanilla, very woody, deep, mature, and addictive. Its projection on me is unfortunately quite soft, and its longevity is about 4 hours. I can’t wait to receive a decant of Escentric Molecules 01 and try to boost it or layer it with other vanillas. For some reason, I love the bottle, however bizarre that huge cap is. Scent 8/10, Longevity 4/10, Sillage 6/10, Value for Money 5/10, Versatility 6/10, Packaging 9/10. Would I buy it again? I’m not sure.

I bought my second bottle of this beautiful perfume today. I don’t understand why they discontinued it in Argentina and you only find it by chance; thank God I managed to get two 100 ml bottles to enjoy for a long time. For me, it’s vanilla and wood with a warm spicy touch. I recommend using it in winter or very cold days; that’s the ideal time. A single drop seems to hug you tightly and refuse to leave; it has incredible longevity and quality for the price. I was very surprised and it’s my favorite for going out bundled up. I wouldn’t recommend it if you don’t like vanilla because it dominates, although it’s not a cloying sweetness; overapplying can be overwhelming. You have to use it in moderation, the right and necessary amount to feel it without getting tired. At some point, it seems to have a tobacco note that reminds me of other perfumes, though it’s not listed, perhaps it’s due to the spice combination, but it’s very subtle. It works for both men and women, it’s totally unisex.

I wouldn’t recommend it if you don’t like vanilla because it dominates a lot, although it’s not cloyingly sweet; over-applied, it can be overwhelming. It opens weird. But from the start, the present vanilla gets denser with the sillage on skin as time passes. I am absolutely obsessed with vanilla perfumes, but this… Ladies and gentlemen, it’s a different story. I love it. It has a hint of Kenzo World Intense and Gaultier 2 (they only resemble each other). I could wear it again.
DSQUARED² Want is a perfume for a doll. But for a real doll, the kind found in old, intricate, hard-to-find shops, handmade and cared for from top to bottom, with perfect hair, cold and distant crystal eyes, and custom-made clothes. This precious perfume smells like a doll you find in a lost gallery. Its opening, though spicy, isn’t enough to bother; it’s the perfect point to let out some citrus and ginger at the same time, how beautiful. It ends up leaving a sharp, non-synthetic vanilla, covered by an incredible powdery rose. A sweet, woody, powdery finish with such subtlety and softness that gives it a beautiful character, very vintage and innocent. I’m in love.
I follow you guys a lot, I bought it blindly, and I got it right. Delicious vanilla, reminds me of Tocade de Rochas; I only have one complaint, and that is that, at least on my skin, it doesn’t last long.
This is one of my perfumes, the weirdest. I think it’s the ginger that left me speechless, but then it starts to become more and more addictive and never stops improving. It’s spicy, intense, feminine, complex, and a whole lot more adjectives. I bought it because I read your comments (I won’t point fingers, but we all know who I’m talking about…), thinking at first: well, I guess I was wrong (as I was wrong), because it’s by far the most special thing I’ve ever smelled. I already have three bottles, because this little bastard has me hooked. I wear it less to work because everyone has it.
This is one of my perfumes, the rarest. I think it’s the ginger that left me speechless, but then it starts getting more and more addictive and keeps improving. It’s spicy, intense, feminine, and complex, with a ton of adjectives. I bought it based on what I read in your comments (I won’t point fingers, but we all know who I’m talking about), thinking at first I’d miss out, but I was wrong; it’s by far the most special thing I’ve ever smelled. I already have three bottles because this little rascal has me hooked. I wear it less to work because everyone there has it.

Seeing such good reviews, I definitely feel like buying it, only that they don’t talk about its longevity. I have to take advantage while they have it in Argentina and there are no varieties here; the price is more or less expensive, like everything in my country.
Intense and spicy, this fragrance has a sexy touch that makes it irresistibly attractive. It’s a storm of senses and an exquisite elixir impossible to ignore. It opens with warm vanilla and mandarin, with a hint of spice at the start, and a delicate heliotrope that brings calm. I don’t smell much ginger or rose, but those woody vanilla notes at the end are incredible. Another blind buy that made me jump for joy when I smelled it on my skin.
I tried it today and it was surprising; it fits perfectly with what was said before. It’s sweet with spicy touches, sexy, playful, and captivating. True to the youthful and eclectic spirit of the twin designers Dan and Dean Caten. I recommend it!
Total curiosity.
I couldn’t agree more! It’s impossible to go unnoticed with this. It arrived today and the moment I sprayed it, I was shocked. What a powerful opening! Here, femininity and attraction go hand in hand. Ordering another from stock in 3, 2, 1!
