  • Spectacular, relaxing, green citrus vetiver; the touch of ambroxan is just right… so rich, such a great discovery, I love it!!!

It’s a woody opening that later turns into a light version of Encre Noire but without the projection or longevity. If you like the Encre Noire scent, this is the best option.

Green Wood by DSQUARED2 is a citrus-aromatic herbal scent. Pleasant citrus opening with slightly spicy and herbal notes, very similar to Adolfo Domínguez’s Citrus Cedro in the initial phase. In the dry-down, it becomes more aromatic with a base of woods and ambroxan. Due to its fresh notes, it’s for daytime use, casual outings, or school.

  • Fitting name: it’s fresh, green, and dark where cedar, cypriol, and resins dominate. The opening is potent, barely citrusy but with noticeable pepper. I smell it like a mix of Loewe 7 and Classic Pine but more modern. It’s sober, well-masculine, and for everyday wear. Maybe the ambroxan and musk give it that versatile profile. The best part is the dry-down: dark wood with a slight sweet and relaxing tone. Good fixation, medium projection, and acceptable longevity. An option for those who like woods and green aromas. Update: over time, I like the scent more; the dry-down is great. At first, the opening was strong and shocking; the cypriol and pepper gave me a headache on the neck (maybe lack of habit). Solved by applying it behind the ears, at the nape, or on the chest to avoid the immediate impact xD. P.S.: Bottle design, magnetic cap with wood, and velvet box are a bonus.

  • They say Versace Eau Fraiche is similar to Light Blue for women. If Green Wood is similar to Eau Fraiche, then it has a resemblance to Light Blue EDT Women but greener and woodier. I’m not going to talk about sillage and longevity yet, but regarding notes, I think it has quite a bit of ambroxan, which makes me hesitate a little. I’ll test it more to give a concrete opinion.

  • My go-to daytime scent. It doesn’t smell like Dior Homme Cologne or Citrus Cedrat to me; I think they take different paths. The green notes are very prominent here—I’m not sure if it’s the cedar, the coumarin, or both—but it definitely lives up to its name, Green Wood. The citrus fades quickly. It’s much more woody than citrusy: a green, damp, mossy wood. The dry-down is perfect for standing out from the crowd. It has a lot of personality without being overpowering, with acceptable performance for an EDT; on my skin, it lasts about 6 hours and is quite linear from the start. Projection stays around a meter for 1-2 hours. I’m not being impartial here because I wear it almost every day, and it’s a scent that defines me. The velvet box is top-notch, and the bottle is heavy and well-made, featuring a magnetic wooden cap with a maple leaf symbol on both the lid and the atomizer (fitting for such good Canadians). I recommend you give it a try.

  • It’s my daytime signature scent, much more diurnal than nocturnal. I don’t smell it like a Dior Homme Cologne or a Citrus Cedro; they go down different paths. Here, it smells very green; I don’t know if it’s the cedar, the cypriol, or both, but it lives up to its name. The citrus fades quickly; it’s more woody, a wet green wood and mossy vibe. The dry-down is ideal so you don’t smell the same as everyone else. It has personality without being overbearing, with acceptable performance for an EDT: on my skin, about 6 hours, quite linear once the green notes settle. Projection is 1 to 2 hours at arm’s length. I’m not impartial; I wear it almost daily and it represents me. Velvet box, top-tier bottle, heavy and good quality with a magnetic wood cap and a maple leaf symbol (like proper Canadians). Recommend trying it.

Caught Green Wood by DSQUARED2. Call me crazy if you want. It reminds me a bit of the middle phase of Cartier’s Declaration but without that heavy French spice load. It opens with a strong citrus, that acidic lime has a very subtle soapy touch. After 30 minutes, the cedar and vetiver take over with that woody protagonist while the ambroxan pushes everything toward the dry-down. It’s true that it loses a bit in originality by resembling ENS and others, but it takes the best of each and the result is interesting. For the heat, it’s a gem: it doesn’t bother anyone, has a classy elegance, and the bottle is simple but beautiful. Performance is average, about 8 hours with moderate projection at the start. Ideal for spring and summer, office or casual outings. Informal or semi-formal, perfect with a white shirt. Excellent quality/price and it generates compliments. JGS

  • I fell in love with the fragrance. I went to the store and the only tester was broken and wouldn’t spray. I put a drop on my hand and went crazy, but I had to press my nose to smell it. I started walking around the mall checking if it lasted. I decided to buy it for my personal enjoyment; even though it’s flat, I fell in love. What a surprise when I got home: I showered and applied it with 4 sprays. Moderate sillage for the first two hours. On skin, about 7 hours, and closer to the skin, more than 12. On clothes, I don’t know why they last so long… I have a used t-shirt from a week ago and it still smells perfect, even though I’m a smoker. Perfect for spring and autumn, good for summer. I’d use it in winter if it’s not too cold. I paid about $60 for the 100ml along with a shower gel. A week later I found the same set on sale for $45 and bought 3 more bottles since it seems they don’t make it anymore or it’s not on their site. I have a modest collection of about 40 perfumes and I think none of them gave me so much for so little money… and its fragrance, although flat, made me fall in love. It was what I was looking for: a green scent that steps out of the ordinary and the blue. If I find it on sale again, I’ll buy more so I don’t regret it in a few years.

Pleasant and clean scent, but with low longevity. I stopped using it right after my shower.

  • A mossy forest at dawn after a fresh rain, with massive cedars and mist between the trunks. That’s how Green Wood smells. A very green and very woody fragrance, who would have thought, huh? Well, this might sound silly, but it’s not. In short: ‘Cloudy morning in a coniferous forest in Canada.’ Ideal occasion: going to IKEA while single. Alternative: Encre Noire Sport. Blind buy? Yes. Rating: 3 stars.

Although it’s not a Chypre, it reminded me of some. I agree with previous reviews, especially adryens’: ‘A mossy forest at dawn after rain, with huge cedars and mist between the trunks,’ exactly as described. It’s very possible this will be one of my next purchases… it fits my personal fragrance style perfectly. Of course, you should evaluate its performance (I only tested this on blotter paper this time).

I’m just discovering this brand. While waiting for the original Wood, I started with this Green Wood. Here’s my take: packaging, bottle, and atomizer are unmatched in quality—velvet green box with gold embossed letters… magnetic cap bottle and an impressive atomizer… without going on too long about the scent itself, it’s fresh, green, and woody… a simple smell but with great taste and nuances… the opening is sharp with that fresh green pepper note… the scent quickly softens to a very light trail, giving the impression that after half an hour it’s gone… but that faint scent lasts its full 6 hours, and I keep noticing that subtle, delicious aroma more and more each day… it doesn’t feel synthetic or flat like most perfumes in this price range. For 50€ for 100ml, you get a truly quality fragrance in every aspect, including the presentation… I won’t accept AliExpress boxes or mediocre designer knockoffs for niche perfumes.

  • Humbert_1980

A very rich fragrance. Personally, I picked up the 50ml for 19€ at the duty-free in Barcelona airport; I saw them online for 70€ for 100ml, and honestly, at that price, it’s not worth it. On my skin, it smells similar to Dior Homme Cologne, but it didn’t last long; I had to reapply generously about 20 times. It lingers on clothes after hours, but not much on the skin. It’s very rich, but only if you can get it at a good price.

  • Adago7784

I haven’t had a chance to try it yet, but I’m curious why some say it resembles Extreme Polo Sport. If anyone can confirm if that’s true, I’d really appreciate it, as I’ve been searching for a substitute for that discontinued gem for years. Can anyone answer this question or recommend something similar to Extreme Polo?

  • Got a compliment right out of the gate. In short, it’s a woody fragrance with green and aquatic notes. Lasts over 7 hours, has a decent sillage, and the price is unbeatable. The quality is excellent for what you pay. However, there’s one note that sometimes makes me hesitate to wear it, but it has everything to become a ‘classic’ due to its style. It’s much better than Encre Noire Sport. Safe buy if you like woody scents. 9/10.

  • Cooltemporaneos

A different kind of perfume. Very green, best for days that aren’t too hot. I bought it blind based on comparisons to Encre Noir, but I’m glad I chose this one; it’s definitely worth it. Also great for late afternoons in spring or summer.

  • A super citrusy and green lotion, perfect for everyday wear or the gym. Highly recommended.
