Aurelien Guichard, a senior perfumer at Takasago, was born and raised in Grasse, the heart of the fragrance industry. As he grew up in a family business specializing in the cultivation of roses and jasmine for the leading perfumers, he developed a passion for perfumery at an early age. Following in the footsteps of his father, who was also a perfumer, Aurelien trained at the prestigious Givaudan School of Perfumery.
After graduating, Aurelien began his career at Givaudan and worked with various companies such as Bond No. 9, Davidoff, Robert Piguet, and the niche favorite Ego Facto. His experience and knowledge of perfumery have made him an influential figure in the industry, and his creations have become known and loved around the world.
Aurelien views perfumery as a way of life and believes that the qualities of a good perfumer include a sharp sense of observation, sensitivity to others, and generosity. His inspiration comes from the people he meets; he makes an effort to listen to their stories and experiences. He believes that each of his creations reflects respect and the oral transmission of the family know-how passed down through seven generations of perfumers.
Recently, Aurelien has taken charge of the family rose-cultivation business in Grasse, continuing the family legacy and the commitment to the fragrance industry. He has also created several fragrances for Maison JUS, including Coffeeze, Ambraser, and Ultrahot. Aurelien Guichard’s contribution to the world of perfumery is a testament to his family’s heritage, dedication, and passion for creating fragrances that capture the essence of life.
In 2019, Aurelien presented his own line of perfumes, Matiere Premiere.
