  • I tried it years ago without knowing its name and it was a total hit at the party. It’s super long-lasting, full of character, and intense. At first, it smells like rose, then grapefruit and blood orange, nothing sugary; it reminds me of Aqua di Parma. I heard others say it smells like cat urine, but it doesn’t happen to me for the life of me; it must be a matter of taste.

I love it: it’s delicious, fresh, and lasts all day. Top-tier ingredients, medium sillage but brutal longevity, perfect for the heat.

Either my sense of smell is broken or I don’t know what, but to me, it’s delicious. It’s like an orange juice with plenty of sugar. A very original concept, and look, I’ve tried hundreds of orange citrus fragrances… It also has quite scandalous herbal notes, very present. A 100% unisex fragrance.

Did I break my nose or what? To me, it’s pure bliss. It smells like orange juice with a ton of sugar—a really original concept. I’ve tried hundreds of orangey citrus scents, and this one stands out. Plus, it has some pretty bold herbal notes that are very present. 100% unisex.

  • The first time I smelled it from the bottle, I hated it, but it doesn’t smell like cat urine as someone on the forum claimed. After applying it… I LOVED IT! I ADORED IT! It’s delicious, spectacular on my skin, and lasts all day. That happens with most Guerlain fragrances: they don’t smell good from the bottle, but once applied and reacting with my skin’s pH, they transform into something different and delicious that lingers. I’m a Guerlain lover.

  • The first time I smelled it straight from the bottle, I hated it, but it doesn’t smell like cat urine like someone said. After applying it… I LOVED IT! I ADORED IT! It’s delicious, spectacular on my skin, and lasts all day. With Guerlain, this always happens to me: I don’t like it from the bottle, but on my skin it turns into something delicious and long-lasting. I love Guerlain.

I’m terrible with colognes; they last less than a cake left by the school gate. I had to reapply constantly until my trusted perfumer finally had the Aqua Allegoria on sale. Obsessed with Guerlain, I wanted to try them all, but I only picked up two: Granita de Pera and Pamplelune. I liked the pear, but Pamplelune was like seeing the open sky. I reconciled with citrus and fell in love with the petit grain and bergamota. It also picks up vanilla over time. On my skin, it has potent longevity; I applied it five hours ago and I can still smell it. As Bogart said: ‘This is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.’ To go with it, Shakespeare: ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ and ‘Much Ado About Nothing’.

  • Starts with a blast of bergamot and grapefruit that dominates the entire journey. No flowers, barely any neroli, but the cassia adds a fresh green touch. Over time it sweetens into a grapefruit mousse, though the woody patchouli keeps it from being gourmand. A powdery musk note finishes it off. Fresh and perfect for heat or sports, it’s unisex. Lasting power is decent for a citrus, but if you’re looking for something complex and full-bodied, look elsewhere. Rating: 6/10

Over time it sweetens into a grapefruit mousse, though the woody patchouli and vanilla keep it from being gourmand. A subtle musk adds a powdery vibe. Fresh and cool, perfect for heat or sports, it’s unisex with medium longevity. If you’re looking for something complex and full-bodied, forget Pamplemousse. Rating: 6/10

Smelling like Aqua Allegoria is like being in a lemon field; the grapefruit takes charge. I tried it in autumn and loved it—it’s intense and long-lasting. What a pity I didn’t buy it sooner. The price is high, but Guerlain justifies it. Not very unisex, it smells like pure freshness.

  • Pamplelune is another world. It mixes citrus and gourmands but is unique. I bought it blind and fell in love. It starts optimistic like fireworks: real fresh grapefruit, no syrup, with a green touch like basil. Then it evolves beautifully: sometimes acidic, sometimes bitter, and finally sweet with vanilla and a dirty base. It promises innocence but delivers depth. It’s marvelous and almost perverse; you either love it or hate it. Try it before buying. It lasts a long time on the skin, watch out with the dosage. It’s not just for summer, it’s chameleon-like and very unisex, for people with personality.

  • Pamplelune is something else, another world. It shares with citrus and gourmands, being totally different. Decided and with a lot of character. The moment I smelled it, I fell in love and bought it on impulse, something I don’t usually do. The opening is optimistic, like fireworks. First, real grapefruit, freshly cut, nothing of candy or syrup, something hard to find. Immediately it mixes with a green note I remember as basil and mint. What I discovered later and pleasantly surprised me is how it evolves. It’s not an easy citrus nor a cloying gourmand; it has brilliant complexity. It becomes acidic, bitter, and finally sweet with vanilla and a dirty base. The opening promises something innocent and easy, but its evolution has depth. A wonderful and almost perverse scent. I think it’s a fragrance that you either love or hate. I recommend trying it well before buying, because what was a pleasant surprise for me might not be for others. It lasts a long time on skin, much for a citrus and you have to be careful with the dose. They usually say it’s refreshing for summer. I don’t agree, by its changing character it’s very chameleon-like. I also don’t see it as feminine, I see it as very unisex. A fragrance for people with a lot of character and personality.

  • AQUA ALLEGORIA PAMPLELUNE DE GUERLAIN is a beautiful citrus fragrance of exquisite quality but with poor performance. Its name is curious. PAMPLELUNE is PAMPLONA in French. Guerlain didn’t think of the City of San Fermín. I think it’s PAMPLEMOUSSE (grapefruit) and LUNE (moon), meaning: GRAPEFRUIT MOON or MOON GRAPEFRUIT who knows?. Its accord is linear and uncomplicated. The grapefruit is reduced in bitterness, making bergamot more noticeable. The orange notes of petit grain and neroli are more perceptible, producing a friendlier and more cordial smell than the original grapefruit. I don’t detect patchouli or vanilla, but I do detect an undeclared note with great prominence: VETIVER. It’s so much so that it could well be a flanker of GUERLAIN’S VETIVER, although with less body. Unfortunately, its performance doesn’t match the price; it’s an exquisite quality cologne for the whole family. The AQUA ALLEGORIA line usually suffers from this defect, forcing hyper-dosification and reapplication during the day.

  • My curiosity about Aqua Allegoria led me to buy it blind. Strong citrus power at the beginning that doesn’t lose force. Grapefruit and something like orange and lemon juice are its bases. Here, bergamot and Neroli must be mixed in. It’s not sweet, it moves between rough and bitter fruit. Not very linear. As it dries down, it arrives without obvious patchouli, rather due to the decrease in orange notes. No single note overpowers the others. On my skin, the vanilla doesn’t reveal itself, it keeps its secret. Over-application is discouraged. It might seem like a summer scent, although for those purposes, I would choose colognes (Imperial, Du Coq…). It’s a “allegory” of citrus cologne water, toning or refreshing, although its deep meaning makes it suitable for seasons beyond summer. The bottle must be about ten years old.

This perfume has a terrible cat urine smell. At the start, there’s a grapefruit that makes you think of something fresh and refined, and within a minute, the terrible cat urine smell appears, with which you beg not to run into anyone on the street because it’s so persistent!!

  • It’s the most failed perfume I’ve ever bought, it’s horrible. I bought it blind second-hand and thought the cat urine and rancid smell was because it was old… I went to try it in a store and it smelled just as bad! I don’t understand the discrepancy, some people find it good. For my nose, nothing pleasant.

  • This is the most failed perfume I’ve ever bought. It’s awful. I picked it up secondhand blindfolded and thought the smell of cat urine and rancidity was because it was old, but when I tested it in-store, it smelled just as bad. I don’t get the conflicting reviews; others love it, but for my nose, it’s just unpleasant.

  • I never thought I’d read reviews saying it smells like cat urine!!! I thought I was the one going crazy smelling that strong scent of dry urine (I have cats, I know their smells 😂). I showed it to my husband to see if I was crazy, and he also smelled it after it dried down. I don’t know which note makes it smell like that, I think it’s the grapefruit 🤔, it feels acidic and bitter. But my real review is that I love it!!! I love the citrus-bitter and acidic vibe. Its woody note makes it last longer on the skin and doesn’t feel like a common citrus cologne water. I bought the 120ml with about 20ml left, so I apply very little (minimum 7 sprays) and it lasts quite a bit! At least 4 hours, enough for a light perfume. As it dries down, sometimes I still smell the urine scent haha but what of it! I don’t care much 😂 because no one will believe how I got it… The person who sold it to me didn’t know what it was. I got it for almost $3 at a dollar fair, used junk and knick-knacks. A girl had a red cloth with used toys, selling them cheap; next to her, I saw the Guerlain bottle, I rushed to smell the cap thinking it was empty. My impression was huge seeing it still had 25ml. I asked if she refilled it, she said yes, a lady (home advisor) gifted it to her, but she didn’t know what perfume it was and it was running low… She was surprised when I told her it wasn’t cheap and hard to find in Chile. I was dislocated asking about the price 😱. That’s the story haha, Guerlain’s Pamplelune is with me among my treasures, I gave it the place it deserves 🤩. But if you ask me if I’d buy it again? No 🤷🏻♀️😂🍋🍊

Who says it smells like cat urine, what urine must they have smelled? I have cats and I wish their pee smelled like this 😂😂. To me, it’s a fresh, delicious perfume that lasts the longest in its range.

  • It’s citrusy with neroli and petit grain. At first, it smells good… but gradually, YES, it reminds me of cat urine. With sweat, it’s surely worse.

  • Supernova1.1

I have a kitten, I live in an apartment, and I wish her pee smelled like this haha. At first, it smells super citrusy; halfway through, the neroli kicks in, and finally, the vanilla. I want it, I need it, it’s mine! Hahaha.

  • Haha, smells like domestic cat urine! I don’t get why some women hate it; I think it’s just the grapefruit and vanilla confusing the brain if you already have that association. There are real animalic and fecal perfumes out there, but this doesn’t even come close. Setting the hate aside, it’s excellent for everyday wear—fresh and great for hot weather. To me, it’s unisex: soft, clean, citrusy, aquatic, and powdery. The listed notes are sublime: an intense opening of juicy, fresh grapefruit with a dusty, floral, and sweet touch. As it dries down, it keeps neroli, petit grain, and real vanilla enhancing the citrus with floral notes. Grapefruit or mandarin dominates, and patchouli gives it body so it doesn’t feel like a cheap cologne.
