Descripción

Very Irresistible by Givenchy is a fruity floral fragrance for women. Launched in 2003, this composition was created by Dominique Ropion, Sophie Labbé, and Carlos Benaïm. The top notes feature cassia accompanied by citron, lemon balm, sweet verbena, and star anise. The heart reveals a floral harmony with rose, peony, and magnolia, while the base closes with a sensual touch of Taif rose, musk, vanilla, and patchouli.

I’m lucky enough to go to a well-known French perfumery that only sells French and exclusive international brands, mostly French. The best recommendation they give you is: apply the fragrance directly to your wrist, don’t rub it. Wait fifteen or twenty minutes, better thirty, while looking at other things. That way you’ll see how the scent settles; that’s the one that will remain, depending on your pH or if you have dry or oily skin. That’s why, if you’re going to buy an L’Eau de Parfum or toilette, the best thing is to go straight out of the shower, test it on your wrist, and see the results. It never fails. Cheers.

It smells like stationery paper… like the decorated ones you used to find in bookstores.

  • Elisabettha

Feminine, elegant, sexy… It’s that perfume that ‘dresses’ you. It has a trail that draws a lot of attention. I easily recognize it on any woman who wears it; it’s one of my favorites.

  • I’m wearing the EDT today. I have a miniature I don’t know how old it is, but it smells good and strong. At first, I notice lemon myrtle, which is my favorite; it gives it a herbal touch. I had that plant in my garden as a kid and loved its smell and taste; we drank it as tea. I also notice a very subtle, integrated anise. Then the roses with the flowers, all mixed together, pleasant, clean, fresh, yet deep. I find it attractive and balanced, and I think it’s easy to dose because with the second or third application, the trail and intensity increase.

  • It has an incredible fixative. I like citrus, but I tried it by chance in the morning. By night it still smelled, and I didn’t dislike it; it’s a soft, deep rose, like smelling… on a t-shirt, it still smelled the next day. I bought it and have no regrets; it’s very special.

A beautiful fragrance. Super sexy yet elegant, perfect for a special night. It’s been on the market for years and never goes out of style. It’s an unmatched jewel. Very well thought out to feature Liv Tyler; she exudes sensuality and elegance just like the perfume.

  • It’s pure rose, elegant. It’s not subtle, but it doesn’t have too much personality either; I see it as super versatile for day or night, hot or cold. I love it; it’s one of the few I’ve worn more than twice.

  • Natalylopez

It’s a super elegant and soft floral rose with a very noticeable anise. It reminds me of a sophisticated anise infusion, sweet pastries, and a vase of roses. It made me think of Ralph Lauren’s Style.

Hey, according to the description, where’s the fruity note? It sounds more floral-green to me, right?

  • I love rose perfumes and was looking for one for summer. The opening didn’t sit well with me due to the herbal ingredients; I sensed an almost bitter touch. Within minutes, the roses, anise, bergamot, and magnolia become noticeable. After hours, only the flowers remain: fresh, flirty, sexy, and feminine. It could work at the office with light application, but I see it more as a nighttime summer or spring outing, suitable for a date or event. They chose Liv Tyler as the model perfectly; I can imagine her in a lovely dress, painted lips, and a flirty attitude.

  • Updating my previous review: I love rose perfumes, and here, rose is the star. There’s no traditional olfactory pyramid; it’s split into two parts: at first, a spicy herbal scent, almost bitter, with anise, bergamot, and cassia filling the air. Then, after ten or twenty minutes, the flowers arrive—a beautiful bouquet of roses, super feminine, flirty, and chic. It’s a modern floral. I bought it for summer, but the trail shines better in autumn or spring; at higher temperatures, it can be too much. Since it’s not as trendy anymore, you can wear it without smelling like everyone else, just be careful during the day. Perfect for dates or events, paired with something flirty. I still think Liv Tyler embodies its spirit perfectly: feminine, flirty, and sensual.

  • I remember the madness surrounding this fragrance; everyone wore it, and the streets smelled of ‘Very Irresistible’. It’s versatile, fresh, long-lasting, and intriguing—magnetic to both young and older people. Marketing and Liv Tyler catapulted it to success. Today, it still speaks for itself through its variants. The original 2003 EDT opens with a sweet rose enriched with anise. The rose structure isn’t heavy or metallic; it’s like a spring breeze, aquatic and fresh yet intense. The musk and verbena give that vibe, while vanilla pulses from the depths, emerging over time. A flexible floral that doesn’t lose its character and lasts quite a bit for an EDT. An excellent move by Givenchy.

  • It’s my all-time best purchase. I can’t seem to have a signature scent because I always switch fragrances and rarely repeat. I even have old bottles I never finished. But without a doubt, ‘Very Irresistible’ is the closest I’ve come. I’ve had it since 2003, use it occasionally to avoid getting tired of it, and it’s the only one I keep coming back to that still smells as good as the first day. I’ve tried other editions, but none of them convinced me. I love its sophisticated floral scent—it’s not overpowering. It’s elegant and sexy at the same time, versatile for any time of day or season. I also own the body cream, which leaves the fragrance lingering on the skin with a subtle sheen.

  • Delicious, floral, and fruity, but it lacks longevity and projection. I’ve been wearing it for two hours and can barely smell it on my skin. Longevity: 4/10, Sillage: 3/10.

  • Denee Von Chamberlain

One of my favorites. It’s intense but not overpowering, sweet but not cloying. It lasts long enough and suits both young and older people. It’s a very feminine perfume that never goes out of style.

  • catavelasco

I’m not a fragrance expert, but I’ll share that I’ve recently taken up blind perfume buying; that adrenaline rush of smelling it for the first time is priceless. This was on my wishlist, and it was a great decision. It’s a must-have in any collection; it opened my mind to scents I might never have tried. To me, it’s floral, but a beautiful, feminine, and sexy floral. I loved it.

  • Perfumaniaca 23

I was obsessed with this perfume as a teenager because Liv Tyler was in the ads, and since I’m a Lord of the Rings fan, I had to own it. I really enjoyed it; it felt refined and elegant. It’s a rose dance from start to finish, though sometimes it got a bit much for me. I finished the bottle—it’s excellent for the office or school. The longevity is great, lasting about 6-7 hours.

  • I’ve never been able to make myself like it. It smells incredibly sweet, the king of sweet perfumes. If you’re looking for that, go for it! It has great longevity, nothing about it fading after two hours. It’s made the old-school way. Just not for me; wear it at night, in winter, for a date. Not for daily use, not because of a bad smell, but you could practically give someone diabetes with how sweet it is.

  • Cosmicgirl

Lots of people confuse this with Givenchy’s ‘Irresistible,’ but the ‘Very’ version is bolder and sweeter; this one is the version without ‘Very,’ very similar but with a touch more sweetness. The notes blend so well it’s hard to tell them apart. If you’re looking for something unisex, try ‘Irresistible’—it lasts longer. Watch out when buying: the pink bottle is Eau de Toilette (sweeter, more feminine, shorter longevity) and the purple one is Eau de Parfum. Don’t buy the purple thinking it lasts longer; they smell different, and I returned mine because I couldn’t stand it. It smells like Le Sancy rose soap—simple yet incredible. Sometimes our senses get carried away by the basics.

  • Kathro B.

Since I was a little girl, I’ve been drawn to spices, and this smells like delicious anise; I know it doesn’t have mint, but it seems to have a hint of it. It’s brutally feminine, cheerful, clean, spring-like, and attractive; 100% in line with its name.

  • My favorite fragrance forever. Fresh, feminine, and incredible. It was an absolute sensation and today it’s a Givenchy classic.

  • locadelosperfumes

I love this perfume. First I notice the rose, then the sweetness takes over this beautiful scent. I had two bottles and I’d buy it a thousand times over.

  • I’m buying it for the second time and I can’t live without it; I’m totally in love and it’s one of my must-haves. It lasts about 6 hours on skin and forever on clothes until I wash them. It’s elegant, classy, sensual, and addictive. Yes, I’d buy it again.

  • It smells like medicine to me, and I hate it. Maybe it just doesn’t suit my skin, but I find it heavy, artificial, like a disinfectant.

  • Citrusy roses that are absolutely divine. It’s a spectacular fragrance with an elegant and gorgeous bottle.

  • Andrea1984

I bought it blind in 2013, hesitating because of the rose, but what a great creation. It’s feminine, floral, beautiful, and spring-like—truly stunning! Perfect for sunny days.

  • abriluchiperfumistica

A soft and calm fragrance, nothing too potent but very feminine. The rose is very noticeable; it’s floral and elegant. The lasting power is good, staying light on the skin. It’s pretty, not my favorite, but definitely pretty.

  • zmjuanpablo

A scent not for young people, but one that projects elegance thanks to its roses, which is what I notice the most. The longevity is good; two sprays are enough. Although it’s not expensive, it feels more luxurious. Recommended for those over 30.

  • I got this as a gift at 17 and it was my signature scent; everyone loved it and made me feel sexy and grown-up. Even though I liked it, over time my nose got tired of that intense sweetness, and I don’t know what happened, but now when I smell it in stores, I don’t care if I like it or hate it. I thought about trying Irresistible since it’s similar, but I’m still unsure.

  • A blind buy that turned out well; it smells delicious. My husband loved it from the start. People always ask what it is or compliment me. On very hot days it intoxicates me, so I save it for spring or cold days.

  • I bought it back in 2005 and fell in love so hard that I’m still buying it today. To me, it’s very romantic; the soft rose note makes it delicate. It would be ideal for a first date.

  • Vivafraganticayyo66

Floral, feminine, and delicate—what a beauty. It gives me confidence, and I wear it to feel elegant and powerful. I get complimented constantly; it’s almost my signature scent. Super feminine, sexy, and incredibly irresistible.

  • Pepperina

I don’t like roses, but this is one of the least boring ones I’ve tried. Probably the anise gives it freshness without losing the sweetness. I’ve had similar things before, and several friends said it smells just like other ones they owned. It must have been so popular that many good clones came out. It’s not irresistible for me, not at all.

  • It’s gorgeous, feminine, and sexy. People always compliment it. It gives a youthful, floral vibe. I wear it mostly in cooler weather or autumn; it’s not my summer pick, but I always keep it in mind.

  • Heavy and sticky. I took years to finish it just because I was embarrassed to have spent money on it.

  • I had high hopes and was totally disappointed. It’s that rose nobody smells anymore and it adds nothing. The longevity is short. What a pity.

  • I bought it out of nostalgia; I loved it when it first launched, but now it gives me nausea. I feel very weighed down. The opening is fresh, but as it dries, anise takes over and stays there. The longevity is insane; two sprays last hours. Maybe it’s oxidized—the batch is from 2017—and I don’t smell the rose, just a vintage floral vibe. I should have tried the Irresistible ‘without the Very’; those flankers are a delight.

  • Laura Guerra

Roses on overdrive, perfect for the office in my opinion. Sophisticated and sexy. It suits me perfectly.

  • I love it, but watch out: if you don’t like roses, you’ll hate this too. The flower takes center stage, not a background note. It’s fresh, powerful, and full of character without being heavy. The rose feels alive, feminine, and projects well. The longevity is brutal; my clothes still smell like it the next day. It delivers on both fixity and presence—floral but with tons of personality.
