I really like it. Right after spraying, it smells like intense vanilla, but not high-end perfumer vanilla like Dior’s; it’s more like the toasted vanilla or cream we use in the kitchen. Not a negative thing—I love it! Since I flavor my homemade sweets with vanilla, this perfume reminds me a lot of that. The opening is very intense and then softens, leaving that initial sensation. It’s sweet but not excessively so; maybe other notes balance the sweetness. That’s a plus because, although some say sweet perfumes are only for winter, this one works in summer and during the day. It’s not elegant by my standards, but it’s very pleasant, creamy, and warm. If the name ‘Noir’ implies something deep, it’s not here. Pleasant, creamy, and sweet, but nothing more. Like all from the brand, it doesn’t last long or leave a trail, but it’s not overwhelming or too sweet.
Fresh and pleasant: vanilla, mandarin, and cedar. Nothing groundbreaking or overly sophisticated, but far from bad. Many people think it’s the cheap version of Dior’s Hypnotic Poison, but it smells less chemical on me. The original Dior smells like solvent on my skin, and my partner rejects it, so the red bottle stays in the closet. This Yves Rocher one is more natural, not very sensual, but the vanilla is acceptable for casual occasions. Moderately sweet aroma, medium longevity, and a very light sillage.
It caught me off guard—what a gem! I used to hate Yves Rocher colognes for that harsh alcohol scent, but I needed warm vanilla for everyday wear, nothing cloying. The in-store testers were just cloths that evaporated the scent in 10 minutes, but when I tried it on my skin, it felt fresh and sweet, with a hint of blackberry. No fake synthetic vanilla like usual. The downside is it doesn’t last long; it stays right on the skin. Still, that blend of three vanillas is cheerful and feminine. I just wish it had that freshly baked dessert note I was looking for.
Dark and warm elegance, nothing gourmand, more mysterious and autumnal. A calm, spicy, and spiced vanilla without overdoing it, unisex and skin-close like a good glass of brandy.
Vanille Noire is gorgeous… fresh, elegant, and sweet. What a beautiful perfume that goes unnoticed among so many that pretend to be better but aren’t. Its sweetness is totally natural, right to the bone. Although it’s called Vanilla, I swear it carries coconut pulp, the good kind, and some sandalwood. It has a lovely fresh opening, perfect for summer, like a breeze with vanilla, drops of coconut, and a hint of flowers. Nothing heavy; perfect for anyone looking for something beautiful, different, and without pretension. A wonderful discovery today that’s going straight into my wardrobe. 50 ml for 30 euros; they don’t give it away, but they have more imagination than many in their segment. The trail is medium (you smell it more on yourself) and the longevity is decent, over 5 hours. Worth it. But the Vanille Bourbon from the same house lasts longer and is cheaper; though the scent isn’t the same, one is a cookie and the other is exotic summer vanilla. By price, the other performs better. EDIT: The opening is a bit alcoholic but fades quickly.
Good perfume, good performance. A different kind of vanilla—nothing like supermarket pudding. It doesn’t smell like vanilla bean, but in my opinion, the quality-to-price ratio is excellent.
Good perfume and good performance. A different kind of vanilla, nothing like supermarket custard. It doesn’t smell like vanilla bean either, but in my opinion, it has a great cost-to-quality ratio.
A mature, woody vanilla. I like it, though I feel it could use more sillage, but for the price, it’s a great value.
My all-time favorite. I bought it without even smelling it when it launched in late 2010, and it’s been with me ever since. It lasts all day and into the next on my skin. Wearable any time of day or night. It’s sexy and mature, nothing like the cloying artificial scents; ideal for a mysterious, elegant woman who knows how to seduce.
A serious, elegant, and deep vanilla that stands out from those cloying and boring blends; definitely worth a try.
One of the best vanilla scents I’ve ever smelled in a perfume. I love it; what a shame it’s discontinued. If it’s still available in any country, go buy it directly; you won’t be disappointed.
One of the best vanilla perfumes I’ve ever smelled; I absolutely love it. What a pity it’s discontinued. If it’s still available in any country, go buy it directly—you won’t be disappointed.
Discontinued in Spain. I used it as a substitute for Voile d’Ambre by the same brand, my favorite for years until it vanished. It’s a vanilla and sensual scent, though not as long-lasting as the original. Better suited for autumn and winter.
One of the best vanillas I’ve tried—elegant, sober, and sweet without being cloying. A marvel with excellent longevity. I bought it because it reminded me of the smell of L’Occitane’s bourbon vanilla butter, which was also discontinued. If you find something similar, please let me know.
One of the best vanillas I’ve ever tested: elegant, sober, sweet without being cloying. A real gem with great longevity. I bought it because it reminded me of a L’Occitane bourbon vanilla butter scent that also disappeared. If you find a similar one, please let me know 😉
I’m still using the last drops of what I bought when it was discontinued. It’s gorgeous, one of the best adult vanillas I’ve ever tried—slightly boozy, far from the sugary stuff younger folks love. I started with it because it reminded me of Dior’s Hypnotic Poison, which used to be way too expensive, but now that Dior has ruined that scent, Vanille Noire seems superior. It’s such a shame it’s gone (I can’t stand how Yves Rocher so casually delists products). The good news is that My Soul Soirée from Mercadona has an almost identical dry-down and an unbeatable price.
