Descripción
Voile d'Ambre by Yves Rocher is an oriental woody fragrance for women. Launched in 2005, the nose behind this composition is Olivier Pescheux. The top notes unfold with cardamom, mandarin, mandarin leaves, and myrtle; the heart reveals myrrh, opoponax, and frankincense; while the base notes land with Madagascar vanilla, Australian sandalwood, and patchouli. This perfume was awarded the FiFi Award for Best Packaging in Women's Popular Appeal in 2007.

Honestly, it’s too heavy. If it were ten times more subtle, I might have tried it already.
Too bad it’s so heavy. If it were ten times more subtle, I’d probably use it gladly.
I think it works better when cold. As it dries, the incense and sandalwood appear with a very pleasant vanilla touch. It could be unisex, with moderate sillage and several hours of longevity. EDIT: It turns out to be really warm and beautiful, even sensual. I wore it in winter and got tons of compliments. I no longer detect the mandarin, only woods and vanilla. The base notes are balanced and give an addictive result. Just a hint of vanilla, not sweet—a classic, charming oriental. Plus, it’s very affordable but doesn’t smell cheap at all.
I smelled it for the first time today and it’s like the little brother of Avon’s Timeless. Unlike that one, which starts with aldehydes, this kicks off citrusy and moves into rich woods with resins, ending in that woody vanilla. Definitely a good fragrance, with moderate longevity and it ends up clinging very well to the skin.
One of the few Yves Rocher perfumes that actually lasts and has a respectable presence. I used it years ago and remember it was enveloping, warm, and slightly powdery. They highlighted vanilla, mandarin, incense, and cardamom. Sweet, suggestive, and sensual, yet informal and youthful. I think I’ll buy it again. Long-lasting with a wide sillage.
I’m not sure if they stopped selling it, but I tried an old sample and it felt like a Chanel-style oriental. I didn’t recall anything specific, but I did remember that typical powdery quality of their fragrances. It blends amber with white flowers, and now I read it has myrrh and myrtle, plus opoponax! I’d never heard of that word before. It has a heavy sillage and top-notch fixation; I showered two hours later and could still smell it. Good quality, for sure oriental lovers will adore it.
I loved Voile D’Ambre so much. It’s oriental with fresh notes at the start, very feminine and vintage-inspired. It reminds me of Avon’s Timeless, but less cold and fresher. For a bright, simple oriental, it’s worth it considering the price, which isn’t outrageous. Too bad it’s not available in Spain anymore, but you can find it in France. The sillage and longevity are excellent. It has a distinguished air—not for ladies, but with that vintage bearing that gives it a special charm. I love that nod to the past. Any lover of warm scents will appreciate it. EDIT: In its twilight, it has a brutal vanilla. This is the first one with the lettering as in the photo and the box with the sealing cord.
Just picked up a 50ml bottle and it’s amazing. Soft, with that powdery, sweet touch that suits me perfectly. I love the amber, myrrh, and sandalwood, and they’re all here, paired with a vanilla that smells like amber. The only downside is it doesn’t last as long, but it’s divine and clings beautifully to the skin.
They don’t sell it in Spain anymore and I’m dying for it! It’s the brand’s best work: sensual, oriental, and with insane longevity. I miss it so much…
They stopped selling it in Spain and it breaks my heart; it was the best of the brand: sensual, oriental, and with incredible longevity. I miss it so much…
One of those treasures Yves Rocher let slip into obscurity. Honestly, it caught me off guard since it’s not quite my style, but it has a solid, elegant construction that deserves respect. Warm and lovely, just like the whole Secrets d’Essence line. Even though it costs a bit more than the rest, the quality is luxurious and holds its own against high-end perfumes.
