It’s a very soft, delicate, and summery fragrance. I’d wear it during the day in spring/summer; I think it would get lost in winter. It has light sillage, but you can still perceive it. Given the price in my country, I wouldn’t buy it; there are much cheaper options with similar performance. That said, if someone gifted it to me, I’d be very grateful.

  • I only explain the so many negative reviews and distinct impressions by the topic of skin pH; I suppose it’s a perfume especially sensitive to physical changes. Sur le Nil is sublime, exciting; it has the gift of transporting me to a Mediterranean garden near the sea, lush, full of nooks and crannies, with white flowers growing freely. The sunset sun illuminates the place, and the sea breeze is felt every now and then, giving a sense of cleanliness and subtly refreshing it. It’s complex but charming, changing but balanced, deep but versatile, floral but unisex, earthy but clean, woody and marine, green and white… despite seeming contradictory, strange, and changing, for me, it’s versatile, without harshness or chaos. Its notes have a very special harmony that sets it apart from the repetitive, boring, and overly sweet current trends. I want it, no matter what.

  • This perfume was love at first sniff and went straight to my wishlist. Un Jardin Sur La Lagune is a stroll along a seaside promenade planted with magnolias and lilies, dressed in a white shirt that we’ve sprayed with a white musk aroma. It smells of magnolias and lilies with a salty touch and a strongly musky base. I don’t perceive the bergamot note. The result is floral, clean, and very pleasant. I certainly perceive the detergent mentioned in other reviews, but I love it. It reminds me a lot of Hermès Twilly and a softer version of Cartier’s Baiser Vole. I have moderate sillage and, surprisingly for an EDT, it’s very long-lasting: more than 10 hours on my skin. Despite the criticism, I give a resounding yes to Christine Nagel. Scent 8.5/10, Longevity 9/10, Sillage 8/10, Value/Price 8/10, Versatility 8/10, Packaging 8/10. Would I buy it again? Not yet.

Finally, I have this beautiful perfume in my collection. I knew it the moment it launched and was amazed, just like my partner. That day, we went for a walk, hit the mall, and before sitting down for coffee, I stopped by the perfumery to test it and see its evolution. I left with that enchanting feeling that followed me all the way home. I arrived and didn’t want to shower or take it off; even after bathing, it was still on my arm. I promised myself to buy it, but over time, I relegated it to other offers until I forgot about it. A seller gifted me a mini that I kept in a drawer. A couple of years later, I took it out and relived the same feeling. I couldn’t believe why I’d forgotten it if I loved it so much, so I decided I had to have it. Today, I have my 100ml. I’m happy! I don’t agree with the bad comments about the nose that created it; for me, it’s a masterpiece and the magnolia is the best. My father cultivated that flower; I recognize it always and love its aroma. It reminds me more of a damp place, with falling leaves, dewy grass, and the shade of a huge tree. At home, we had one giant tree that refused to bloom because it was so tall, only letting some grow in the shade, and what shade it cast. Down below, humidity, cold grass… that’s what this fragrance makes me feel. Sea salt? No, nothing like that. It’s a moderate sweetness, Twilly style from the same house, nothing cloying. It’s grass, flowers, wetland. When it launched, several ‘experts’ trashed it, but luckily, I didn’t listen. I don’t follow trends or outside criticism. If you’re looking for something different, test it on your own skin.

  • What’s wrong with people? I read ‘nauseating,’ ‘mediocre,’ etc., but then after smelling it, I can only use that adjective for reviews that tear apart a perfume that radiates love and tenderness. Saying ‘I don’t like it’ is fine, but attacking it so brutally says more about the reviewer than the scent. I assume there are many broken noses: not everything is citrus and vanilla. This garden is probably the best white floral I’ve ever smelled. The burst of magnolias is delicious, accompanied by salty and woody notes that I can’t stop sniffing my arm for. Longevity? Served. Sillage? Huge. Scent? A wonderful journey to a dream landscape. What a show, what a misunderstood miracle. Too bad for those who can’t embrace the peace it brings. Outstanding, a must-have for tender dreamers.

  • It’s a potent, sharp fragrance with an intense fresh green floral vibe that settles into a powdery dry-down with very realistic, slightly acidic notes. I don’t think it’s for everyone; it can be unpleasant, but it’s special, high quality, and nothing common. Good longevity… the marine aspect, I owe that to Marino; he must be the gardener.

  • Wow! I received a mini and didn’t hesitate to try it. My first reaction was to frown; I wasn’t sure if I liked or hated it, and my partner didn’t get it either at first. The opening is rough and sharp, evoking salty sea algae on rocks at a wild beach. Suddenly, white flowers appear, especially freshly cut magnolia with a green stem scent, and that mix of flowers-green-sea persists until the end, becoming dynamic and very pleasant. Summary: start by despising it, but after a few days, it conquers you. Today, it’s an uncommon genius. Fixation is 6-7 hours with moderate sillage. I haven’t bought the full bottle yet because it’s too expensive here, but if the price drops, I’m definitely getting it.

  • A very special aquatic white floral. The magnolia stands out with a salty, sweet, and woody base. The best part is the aquatic notes that wrap everything around. It’s not flowers wet by morning dew, but flowers and woods submerged in salty water, perhaps evoking Venice. I love Ellena’s gardens for their naturalness and transparency. This one is different: floral, aquatic, woody, salty, with a sweetness that isn’t cloying. It has great presence, class, excellent performance, and everyone around me loves it.

I’ve tried the whole collection, and Un Jardin Sur La Lagune lands at #3. Followed by my king, Sur le Nil, then Mediterranee, and finally this one. Another wonderful scent; on my skin, the lily is perfectly noticeable. Ideal for summer if you want to smell fresh and clean for hours without bothering anyone. The ‘issue’ is the price: €60 for 100ml is steep, I guess you need a lot of essence to last that long. On my skin, it lasts about 5 hours.

  • Smells like a cross between any Hermès garden and Moschino’s Cheap and Chic. Rich scent, very in line with the house, but not surprising; for me, it feels a bit redundant in the collection compared to Sur le Nil. If you liked it, try the Cheap: the dry-down is almost identical and it costs much less. Plus, the Cheap has more punch and is way more fun.

  • I’ve tried all of them except the Mediterranean and the Monsoon, and this is the one I liked the most. It’s refined, elegant, perfect for summer and spring, and great for daytime. It adds elegance, lasted forever, and the trail was amazing. I fell in love with this refined, elegant, classy floral. It’s now on my wishlist.

  • At first, I said it didn’t convey much to me, but I tried it again today and changed my mind. It’s very pleasant and has quality and originality. I should try it with more sprays, but the projection seems to be the same as with other scents from this brand: the intensity. I need to give it another sniff.

  • I love its high-quality aroma. It attracts me more on the skin than on paper. Out of the entire collection, this is the one that suits me best. I always get compliments when I wear it. By the way, it feels more feminine than unisex and reminds me of the original Jour. It works great here in Buenos Aires where it gets very cold. The trail is lovely and the longevity is flawless. How wonderful is this fresh, lagoon-inspired Hermes!

  • I bought it and use it with more volume than the samples suggest. It’s fascinating; on my skin, the woods and spices settle beautifully, reminding me of frankincense smoke and white flowers in a Middle Eastern bazaar, but much finer and more refined. It sticks, lasts, smells rich, and leaves a trail. Use it in moderation, ideally in temperate or cool weather. What’s missing? Red fruits and a citrus touch to cut that nostalgic vibe. It’s not old-school; it’s oriental without being mysterious. Awesome layered with Ommia Coral, blending Christine and Morillas. A gem.

  • Un Jardin Sur La Lagune is a floral, marine, and woody blend. It smells of white flowers like magnolia, lily, or gardenia, with salty and woody nuances. The scent shifts throughout the day: sometimes the florals dominate, other times the marine or woody notes. Try it on your skin because on blotter paper it smells more floral. It’s fresh, aromatic, and perfect for daytime wear, whether you’re hanging out with friends, at the office, or going out. It’s more casual than formal, works for both men and women, and prefers warm or temperate climates. My take might vary, so give it a try yourself. Lasted 6 hours with average projection.

  • Gemasevilla

A very subtle blend of lily of the valley and woody papyrus with a creamy marine touch. It’s super personal, nothing aggressive, and everything in just the right measure. An assembly of great delicacy.

  • Magnolias and lilies with that touch of elegance only Hermès knows how to give, wrapped in neroli, jasmine, and a hint of rose. A dry down of woods, musk, and tonka bean, with citrus and mint giving it an herbal and marine air, ideal for humid days. I bought it for myself because, at my age, I deserve a perfume that makes me feel good.

  • I remember in 2019, when I went to the Hermès counter at El Corte Inglés to wash my face with Santal Massoia (don’t judge, but its price-to-longevity ratio is infamous), I noticed they had launched a new Jardin. After talking to the sales associate, they gave me a sample I tested over several days. Thank goodness Lagune doesn’t smell like a Venetian lagoon on my skin; instead, it starts as a dense yet light magnolia, then shifts to a salty-aquatic accord, and dries down to late woods. I didn’t love it, but my partner tried it too, and on his skin, it’s much more appealing: the magnolia seemed to bloom and blends perfectly with the sea salt, creating an aroma reminiscent of gardens in northern Mediterranean. The projection is soft and longevity moderate: about 6 hours. I see it as unisex leaning feminine, perfect for good weather and casual to semi-formal occasions. It was novel for being a floral-wood with brine. I don’t dislike it, but it didn’t excite me. In contrast, on my partner it’s impressively elegant, though it requires a man without inhibitions to wear it, as it doesn’t feel masculine and several friends commented on how feminine it was due to the magnolia. I disagree: the salty and woody notes balance the flower’s creaminess well. Besides, who says flowers are only for girls? Pleasant: 7/10 Interesting: 5/10 Versatile: 6/10 Original: 8/10

This fragrance really amuses me; I bought it on vacation in Guanacaste, Costa Rica. To me, it smells like a jungle beach—a floral blend with wet, fresh woods and a salty, mineral touch. I’ve never encountered another that smells the same. I love wearing it in spring and summer; it feels like putting on a floral perfume that’s been mixed with sea salt. What a delight! Its projection is moderate and lasts over 8 hours. I think it captures the (glorified) smell of a lagoon very realistically. When I first met it, it reminded me of arriving at the coast and feeling the scent of vegetation, with a slight tropical fruit aroma and the saltiness of the sea. It’s wonderful that a perfume can evoke those beautiful moments of nature. On its own, it’s delicious, but to give it that extra beachy touch, I like pairing it with a citrusy cream with some herbs and a coconut body mist. The result is heavenly.

  • Finally got my hands on this! I hesitated due to the price, but after testing it in-store, I absolutely love it for both summer and winter. It smells exquisite: marine notes, creamy lily of the valley, woods, and salty touches with a Mediterranean vibe between orange blossom and similar elements. It smells rich, rich, rich, and feels amazing to wear, especially in summer. The quality is phenomenal and lasts about 7 hours with occasional scent bursts. Every penny spent was worth it. So few ingredients yet it smells this good—that’s genius. It’s 100% feminine: delicate, sexy, elegant, and classy. A girl from Monaco would wear this without needing to flood the room to make a statement. I disagree with claims that it’s unisex or for men; this isn’t for men, let’s be clear. If a man buys it, he’ll be annoyed reading that this site says it’s for men or unisex. Better to try it in-store and clear up any doubts. As for men who want to wear it… I don’t know what they’d want, it would just attract more looks from other men. It’s like if a man wore Chanel No. 5: it doesn’t fit, but taste is subjective. Rating: 9/10.

Exquisite. I didn’t know the Gardens family until in a duty-free I blindly bought half a Jardin sur le Nil and a Jardin sur la Lagune, I say half blindly because in places like those there are already a thousand aromas in the air, my nose was super tired and my arms were atomized with many samples 😅. When I got home I could smell them calmly and I was enchanted. I gave the Nil to my mom (who loves citrus notes) and I kept the Lagune and what a good choice I made; today it is my favorite perfume and I almost consider it my signature. It’s aquatic, intoxicating, a bit salty, a bit sweet, a bit floral. It has everything I like; if you ever went to spend a weekend in a cabin outside the city, surrounded by vegetation and at night it rained torrentially and when opening the window that smell of dew mixed with all the flowers around reached you, well, this Garden smells like that. To white flowers soaked in rainwater or river water, fresh and captivating like a morning after a torrential rain. I love it ❤️

  • Olfato Matutino

This doesn’t smell like dirt, stagnant water, sweat, or other adjectives some have given. If a fragrance isn’t to my liking, and there are some (the ones with tobacco notes), I can recognize its quality without using derogatory terms based on unobjective appreciations. Or maybe there was a reformulation? I don’t know. Of the whole collection, for me it’s the most floral, and despite being unisex, it tends to lean a bit towards the feminine side. Besides the white flowers, wood and marine notes are perceived. I don’t feel the citrus notes. I must admit that of the whole collection, this was the one that brought me the least originality. By that I don’t mean it has poor performance or complexity, but Hermes has us accustomed to a higher level. It can be used day or night and in any season. Personally I don’t guide myself by hours or seasons when using perfume, it’s a personality complement, and if you feel comfortable using it (without abusing the sprays), go ahead.

  • This is one of those perfumes that makes you feel like you’re at home. Especially if you live by the coasts of Spain or on a Mediterranean island. Just smelling it transported me to the beach, with sunscreen and a fresh sea breeze. A perfect perfume for summer, I have to say it’s not for every nose or taste. Personally I love it, let me tell you, the scent relaxes me, it’s perfect. It’s my favorite among all the gardens.

  • lorzastyle

Don’t freak out… it smells good at first and then it smells a bit like pee. I have it because someone gave it to me, I have three other Hermes ones, and this is really the worst.

  • blackstone

It lasts a lot on both skin and clothes (on skin I’ve had it for over 12 hours and it smells a lot right on the skin, and I spent the night with it). Simple and fresh, perfect for summer or spring, I can’t ask for more. Let’s see how it is after maceration. Update: it’s been a month and a half and I think it has improved even more. I used it today, with over 33°C in the plateau, and people commented that it smelled very good. The truth is, I agree.

  • Veranosol12

Hahaha, it’s like the overdosed Twilly, as I read somewhere, hahaha I can’t handle this! hahaha, that’s exactly what I perceive. Strangely it gives me dizziness and nausea, but it’s not the perfume’s fault, it’s not unpleasant, it’s good, but unfortunately the marine note in my body produces that. On the contrary, Twilly (more intense) doesn’t cause this in me, I like it. Separate point: many times it’s thought that more intensity means more dizziness, but for me, on the contrary, the soft ones like Miracle by Lancôme or Dior Addict EDT make me dizzy, which is strange, but with the intense ones like Knowing by Estée Lauder, zero headache.

  • Absolutely agree with a previous review. Laguna is a projection of untamed nature. It proposes a rich-in-hues breeze after a torrential rain that awakens the wet scent of vegetation and green floral refuges on a warm spring evening. It’s a landscape, citrus, aquatic, somewhat herbal and woody; it’s not an identity, it’s a meadow, neither man nor woman, nor both at once, it’s an imagined and unreal memory of yourself living with the present. And well, as they say, Hermes didn’t think about gender when commissioning it. I think they even covered themselves in boredom thinking about courtships and conquests. Their Nilo, Toit, or Laguna are not passions, they are scenarios for memory. That’s why when testing it you can afford to romanticize and give the message a chance.

  • MarquezCastillo

Elegant and floral perfume. The opening seems weak, but it gains strength little by little until it reveals the integrity of its ingredients. If you have a Vivarium or a quality garden, it’s like extracting the essence of what’s cultivated and putting it in the bottle. It’s not for everyone; it can be very intense on sensitive skins and pleasant on others. More for older people than young ones. Gives the feeling of a weekend perfume. Excellent preparation and quality.

  • What a beautiful little perfume! I loved reading the variety of comments, haha, for some there are notes and for others they don’t exist, pure Hermetic genius. I received it at the office yesterday, we tested all of them, and it turned out different and delicious (still need to test it on a guy to see how it goes). In my country spring has started; where I am, the weather is, for now, cool and dry. On me, with these conditions, the sea salt note really stands out; after the first hour it fades and leaves a soft white floral. It lasts right on my skin for over 12 hours, I took a shower, and it’s still very soft. A colleague found it soft and floral from the start without the salt note, and another found it herbal and floral at first. With these three experiences, I think it takes different paths depending on the skin and climate. I’ve been wearing it for two days this fresh spring and I love it; still need to test it with heat, humidity, or cold. It’s nothing invasive, ideal for work, no sharp notes.

  • I’ve tried it several times and always end up with the same conclusion: it’s not for me. The opening is exquisite and sparkling, but after a few minutes the scent disappears and I have to desperately sniff my skin to find it. Then I notice a pleasant sweetness but nothing else. They say it’s the one that lasts best on skin, but it didn’t work for me; it smells very nice but doesn’t last. What a pity, because the bottle, color, and box are gorgeous.

  • I don’t know if it’s my skin pH or what, but I was hugely disappointed. To me, it basically smells like a watery Olympea; I don’t know if it’s the salt point, but on my skin, right after applying it, it’s like wearing Olympea for a few hours and having that residue left on the skin… it makes my stomach turn. This has nothing to do with a garden or a lagoon or natural or green or fresh; it’s like a cheap copy of Olympea. Money thrown in the trash. I don’t recommend buying blindly or letting yourself be led by YouTube videos.

  • A white floral where what I perceive most is magnolia and lily of the valley; it smells beautiful. However, I wouldn’t buy it because ultimately it leaves me with the sensation of wearing a very luxurious baby powder, and currently I don’t want to smell like that.

  • I have a very sensitive nose, and most perfumes overwhelm me. However, I love this one. It evolves hour after hour in its notes. It’s not for those people who like to walk into a place and have everyone smell it. It’s more for keeping this fragrance for yourself, discovering its notes throughout the day. For lovers of freshness and summer like me. For those who don’t want to be cloyed.

  • I’m having a great time reviewing Hermès’ Gardens; I think they have an excellent balance between refinement and fun. However, Un Jardin Sur la Lagune falls on the side of refinement. It frustrates me a bit because I feel it’s here to dampen the party. But well, I have to admit that, in its lack of ambition, it does its job very well. The creamy florals are perfectly balanced with the fresh green-aquatic notes. Not a single harsh flower here, and from time to time I perceive it as somewhat powdery, but it’s something perpetually on the periphery. When people talk about “lotus” in perfumery, they really mean that floral notes have been mixed with aquatic notes. They don’t declare lotus here, though they could. And it would be an indolent, sleepy, placid lotus: the lotus of the lotus-eaters.

  • Perla Vencis

Naguel never disappoints; it has exquisite taste. This eau de toilette, with a simple composition, is a white floral with marine and solar tints. Here white flowers (Chinese orange blossom, magnolia, and lily of the valley) are combined with woods; although it doesn’t declare honey, I do sense that accord in the background, it’s very light but makes the aroma more vibrant. It’s ideal for daytime use in spring and summer. It’s an eau de toilette with low sillage and 6 hours of longevity.

  • Elegant, like all Hermès, it’s my favorite of all the Gardens, although I must say it’s the softest and lacks the projection of the others. I also find quite a resemblance to one of the Twillys. They made me laugh with the definition that it’s the “twilly on steroids” hahaha because it is exactly that. Still, it remains an incredibly rich perfume.

  • This Garden didn’t catch my attention until I could get a vial. The truth is, upon spraying it, I didn’t expect such an addiction with its floral, clean, and slightly marine breeze. More than a garden, its notes evoke a complete landscape, which is what I expect from a semi-niche fragrance. It opens with floral chords reminiscent of fine old soap, which is comforting. It’s pleasant and intimate, thanks to the creaminess of the white flowers, ideal for autumn-winter and perhaps cool spring days. It has marine notes that linger on the skin and become salty as they dry, subtly and without being bothersome. This makes it deliciously unisex, it adapts well to the skin, and is very balanced. It has long-lasting longevity and moderate projection. It’s elegant, neat, and relaxing, and without being identical, it gives me a similar sensation to Cacharel’s Noa. A true joy to apply.

  • It’s the first one from the collection I tried, and it left me stunned. Not only is the longevity decent for an eau de toilette, but the masterful blend of notes that unfold gradually is incredible. At first, I felt it creamy and salty at the same time, then came a floral bomb with the magnolia, incredibly clean and sophisticated, and finally the woody touches that transport me to a forest surrounded by pristine waters. The only complaint is that when I took off the cap, there was a very strong alcohol smell, but it dissipated in seconds; on the spray, the scent was perfect, maybe it was just the packaging. Overall a 9/10, suitable for young and older women, elegant and enveloping like a white flower coat and a whisper of the sea. Highly recommended.

  • FlorPerfumito21

Fresh, unisex, marine, floral, with hints of wood and salt. It smells like a Sunday night shower, a hot day where you step out of the bathroom and get soaked instantly, hahaha. It has that salty floral vintage vibe; it smells like my grandma’s soap, haha. It’s meh, quite unique and special, but it’s not my style.

  • It has a salty floral touch, somewhat vintage—that was the very first thing I thought when I smelled it. It sounds like old makeup… it’s pleasant, but ultimately, meh.
