I was surprised not to see mint in the pyramid, as it was my first impression. At first, it smells very fresh and sweet, almost like toothpaste. I guess that freshness is the sea water. The ginger is different from the one in Bvlgari Man; here, everything is sweet. I feel that vanilla and musk dominate. It’s not bad, but I expected something different. Good thing there are samples.
Incredible Lily: fresh yet deep at the same time. I don’t smell water, but a very strong, refreshing white flower. I absolutely love this interpretation.
Lys Mediterranee evokes a late summer afternoon heat, a sea breeze mixed with soft, spiced lilies. Lilies have been cherished since ancient Egypt. Elegant and majestic, it conveys purity and innocence. Flechier pays a realistic and fresh tribute, almost enveloping, with a touch of sweet vanilla and a soft musk cloud for longevity. If Portrait of a Lady is baroque, this is minimal impressionism. Both spectacular. Rating: 9.
