Soft, clean, and soapy, it’s a distinct aquatic unlike the usual ones: ozonic, refined, and without any harshness, with a green coniferous touch. That freshness of wet stones gains a warm, exquisite creaminess. Ideal for those who don’t want to smell like cologne, but like a second skin. Perfect for spring, summer, the office, and unisex. Thanks be to God, it doesn’t smell like coconut or tropical. Moderate projection and medium longevity, with elegance in its cleanliness. It creates a personal bubble that captivates when you get close; the scent is beautiful and refined.
On my skin, the mineral note dominates from the start through to drydown, taking away its elegance. It reminds me of the salty, metallic scent of Mugler’s Wonairity; the other notes fade into the background, like wearing silver jewelry on a sweaty beach. The citrus and florals lose their luster, appearing dirty in an oxidized iron vase. Although the ingredients are high quality, they just don’t work on my skin. I recommend testing before buying; I have samples and won’t purchase the bottle because it smells bad on my pH, has poor longevity, and the mineral notes are always present.
Personally, I found it repulsive. Although it starts off aquatic with a fresh coconut, once it settles, it smells like a wet dog. In my opinion, it’s very unpleasant.
If you’re wondering why you can’t try it, my apologies if I offend, but it reminds me a lot of Loewe’s Paula’s Ibiza. Obviously, it has more nuances and you can feel the quality of its essences, but it makes me think of that other summer perfume that isn’t one of my favorites either. Don’t buy it blindly.
Delicious perfume that opens with a prominent salty note that lasts until drydown, accompanied by sweet citrus that blends well with the salt. I detect a delicious wet mineral note evoking sun-bathed salt stones. As it dries, notes of sweet resinous coconut appear from the terebinth resin and labdanum, with creamy white jasmine. François Demachy manages to bottle the Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc: white architecture facing the sea, with pines and palms in the background. It’s not being in the sea, but sitting on the beach eating coconut with lemon and salt. Ideal for spring, summer, and autumn, with casual or formal wear, white dresses, or romantic dinners. At the office, moderate the spray. Lasts 6 hours on skin, 8-12 on clothes, keeping the scent for days. Prominent trail in the first hour, then a lasting aura. Pleasant for mornings. Might buy the bottle, although for the price there are better options in niche or the Dior collection. Delicious, a vacation in a bottle!
Piece by piece, it’s surprising: unisex with final floral nuances, summer night flowers that make it sexy and feminine. It has an oily texture, rubs like oil, takes time to evaporate, doesn’t stain, and softens the skin. I don’t smell salt, but I do get marine reminiscences, algae, or brine. I confirm pleasant, subtle, and talcum-like mineral notes from the start. Incomplete citrus, pine wood with three nuances: resin, dry branches, and fresh leaves. Where is the coconut? I can’t find it, neither as shell nor as tanning oil. It evolves well with olive, heather, Mediterranean herbs, and subtle night flowers. Warm but not cloying. I’m surprised, I like it, and I recommend it: original, modern, and sexy. A crazy summer night.
Eden Roc is a dream fragrance for this heat. A floral embrace, fresh from citrus, slightly salty, and usable for those with allergies. Perfect for summer nights. It’s as if Montale’s Sunflower, loud and imposing, evolved into something elegant, sophisticated, and calming. Low trail but excellent longevity. If you’re looking for a summer scent outside of sunscreen and want something elegant and not overwhelming, it’s a great option. I categorized it in the Chanel vibe, although I stick with Sunflower for being saltier and more marine.
