Tonka Cola by Mancera

As the perfume settles, its character evolves into a more complex and mature facet. The dry down reveals a soapy and spicy touch that, far from being a mere addition, gives Tonka Cola an unexpected and disconcerting air. For some, this combination may result in intrigue, an invitation to explore unconventional nuances; for others, it may feel a bit distant, like an experiment that challenges limits. In a way, Tonka Cola stands as an evolved and sophisticated version of Versace’s iconic Blue Jeans, adding depth. It’s not a perfume meant to be a daily staple, but rather an olfactory indulgence for those moments when you seek a different and memorable experience. Its longevity, hovering around six hours, makes it a perfect choice for occasional occasions where its unique personality can truly be appreciated. Its originality and complexity make it worth revisiting, although for those who prefer more discreet or versatile scents, it may feel a bit daring.

For me, this fragrance starts with a strong chemical cola and cherry smell, like washing a cheap candy with a can of Dr. Pepper. After 10 minutes, the cola fades and gives way to warm, spicy nutmeg. Almost simultaneously, a strong benzoin emerges, enveloping you in a cloud of incense that reminds me of an Orthodox church with a priest lighting incense. Over time, the aroma transports me to a place of luxury where everything smells of ‘status’. The fragrance’s life ends with the fading of the notes, supported by vanilla and tonka bean. Unfortunately, I didn’t feel the interplay of cinnamon and patchouli; for me, they simply weren’t there. P.S.: Longevity on my skin is excellent, almost 8 hours strong and another 4 hours of fading scent.

Conclusion: Oily, sweet, and sparkling—so much fun! It’s an extremely festive fragrance that invites you for a walk under the sun or to the beach to end up at a nighttime party. The cola note is realistic and exquisite, giving a resinous finish that keeps it from being cloying. I rarely write this enthusiastically about a sweet scent, but Tonka Cola has won me over.

Mancera is still good for entering the niche world, and this Tonka Cola proves they know how to create pleasant, unpretentious scents. It delivers what it promises: Coca-Cola? Indeed. I don’t notice distinct phases, but rather a sticky sensation from the start where cinnamon dominates, slightly fresh at first due to the citrus, then a non-fizzy soda aroma that isn’t for everyone. Thanks to the tonka bean and the sweet, resinous base, it becomes sweeter, with just the right strength without being cloying, although the patchouli is noticeable. Ideal for lovers of sweet and spiced scents, casual, young adults, with 7 hours of longevity, perfect for autumn and winter.

I almost bought this perfume blind, thinking it would be safe for me. What relief not to have done so! At first, it reminds me of Coca-Cola, but it smells like Coca-Cola soap if such a thing existed. Sometimes I catch a hint of cherry at the start and tobacco as it dries. It’s not sweet, but spiced. The tonka is there, but it’s not the main focus. On my skin, it has low projection and leans more masculine. I can’t judge the duration well since it was just a sample, but it wasn’t bad. Personally, I didn’t like it. Scent: 4.5/10, Longevity: N/A, Sillage: 5/10, Value: N/A, Versatility: 6/10, Packaging: 7/10. Would I buy again? No.

I like it; the opening is Ceylon or Cassia cinnamon (spicy) with Coca-Cola sweets and cherry. After the initial hit, it leaves a scent of Coca-Cola and cherry with lots of vanilla and tonka bean sweetness. It’s playful, ideal for daily wear in cool-weather climates, better for night. The downside is that the cinnamon feels synthetic, detracting from its value. Worth it. With more experience, the opening is Coca-Cola gummies, cherry, spicy cinnamon, and Sicilian lemon, but as it dries down, the cinnamon dominates, with a creamy patchouli, tonka bean, vanilla, and benzoin resin. Definitely for autumn and winter.

Unique scent. I never buy blind, but I tried this with my girlfriend and it blew our minds. At first, it was skin-close, but after two hours, it started projecting beastly; we looked at each other and said how good it smells. We kept walking and got another burst—just one spray on my forearm. The next day, I could still smell it faintly. That performance made me buy it: I was torn between this and Cedrat Boise, but two hours later, the other felt like nothing. Great purchase.

Want a cologne that people love, that stands out, and that makes them ask what it is? It’s this one. Great for night out and dates, to turn heads and please everyone. In my opinion, it doesn’t break the mold we’re used to with perfumes, but it has something sexy, like the smell of a Coca-Cola lollipop, but add cherry and cinnamon; those last two notes play an incredible role in the fragrance. For me, it’s definitely in the top 3 of Mancera.

On the other hand, I was hoping for a fresher, fizzier cola scent. Does it smell like cola? Yes, but more like cola candies (think Selz) and old-fashioned sarsaparilla. Then it carries a touch of Mancera’s Lemon Line and high doses of cinnamon. I haven’t disliked it at all. It’s a good fragrance with great performance, original and fun; I’m sure many people will love it… simply it’s not my favorite tea (or cola 😉).

I bought it blind since I love spicy perfumes and it was a total hit. Sweet cinnamon with touches of lemon sweetened by cherry, that’s all in the opening; then you feel a Coke with lemon and spicy notes, at least I can sense some fizziness. It’s delicious, long-lasting, but you have to be careful with sprays in enclosed spaces. It’s not for everyone. But if you like spicy, sweet, and unique, it might be for you.

It’s the first fragrance from the brand I know, and I absolutely love it! It literally smells like Coca-Cola sodas with cherry from the USA, with a touch of cinnamon and lemon that gives a seltz sensation. In the evolution, a spiced tonka predominates that stands out on my skin as it dries down. I already want it; I hope it arrives in my country because so far I’ve only managed to get a decant.

Spiced Coca-Cola, the cinnamon is noticeable. The cherry stays in the background. Unisex fragrance. I only spray 2 times and it works well for me. It gives the vibe of Zara’s Sand Desert. If you like this or Khamra, Tonka Cola is a blind buy. If Instans Crush is the inspiration for Baccarat Rouge, Tonka Cola is the inspiration for Ángel Share (same vibe).

What a pity this fragrance is on my skin. I bought it blind because I love Montale and Mancera perfumes; I expected a sweet, long-lasting bomb like I’m used to, but it literally smells like tomato sauce on my skin. The sillage and longevity are very poor. I hope it’s not that these brands are starting to fail in those aspects.

I gave it 2 stars because the cinnamon doesn’t bother me as much as I expected, even though I usually hate it. The Coke note is there, but it smells like it’s gone bad 😖. The only saving grace is the longevity and sillage, and wow, the oil is incredible, so spray it from a distance.

I really liked it, as the one below says, it smells like Coca-Cola candies. The only thing is that it gives the impression of being half-finished, as if it’s missing ingredients to round it out; I think it’s more of an accord than a perfume. That said, I absolutely loved it.
