Descripción
Precious Oud by Mancera is an oriental vanilla fragrance for men and women. Launched in 2019, this olfactory composition was created by perfumer Pierre Montale. The top notes unfold with whisky, Laotian oud, leather, and bergamot; the heart reveals a bouquet of tiramisu, rose, violet, patchouli leaves, and magnolia; while the base notes settle on vanilla, amber, sandalwood, oakmoss, and cedar.

I bought a decant and at first, it was a strong, heavy scent I didn’t like… but after a few minutes, as it settled on my skin, the magic appeared. On my skin, it smells sweet but not gourmand, woody, leaning masculine, and very sensual. I need to wear it more; once it’s on my skin, I can’t stop smelling it. I think I’ll get the full bottle.
Precious Oud has a boozy, smoky opening that shifts in minutes to a sweet, sexy aroma. It’s not a gourmand sweet, but a citrusy one, making it unisex, and that’s where the magic lies: it attracts a lot of attention if a man wears it, and if a woman wears it, it’s mega sexy without being heavy. The oud gives it the precise touch of elegance needed to work perfectly for both genders. A Mancera that’s definitely worth checking out.
Right out of the bottle, a very pleasant whiskey, nothing invasive or with that K.O. punch like Unique’s Kutay. It has great longevity and dries down into a sweet tiramisu note. The floral and woody notes aren’t very prominent. From start to finish, it’s a great perfume: very evolving, pleasant, and friendly. It’s a blast to wear. One of my favorite Mancera scents. I recommend buying it blind if you can handle the whiskey and the sweetness. Best for fall and winter wear.
Sometimes I try a perfume and end up disagreeing with previous reviews, which is why I appreciate decants to avoid blind buys. This happens often with Mancera. I expected something different: a boozy twist on Bentley, a Ferragamo Uomo-style tiramisu, and a classic house oud. Nowhere near the reality. It’s a confusing, synthetic composition without structural clarity; the chords blend without finesse. The rose, moss, and oud are noticeable at first, but the tiramisu doesn’t even reach a tenth of what’s in Uomo. With a generally disappointing scent, the trail and longevity don’t inspire confidence. I don’t get the hype over a ‘hidden gem’; for me, it’s one of Mancera’s poorest efforts to date.
I don’t detect the tiramisu, but the whiskey hits hard right out of the bottle, making me feel tipsy. Once it dries down, it’s a blurred sweetness wrapping around a pleasant, wearable oud with an animalic touch. Moderate trail and lasts 7-8 hours. It reminds me of Crazy for Oud, though I prefer that one less than Precious Oud; the latter is sweeter, but the oud in the other smells cleaner and more balanced. I’ve layered it with Lataffa’s Oud Mood and with Crazy for Oud itself; both combos add depth and make it feel less incomplete. With Lataffa, it gains sweetness and distinction, while with Mancera, the animalic side comes through more. Neither has won me over; they’re fragrances for relaxing at home or layering, and I don’t justify owning them just for that at this price. Once I finish my travel sizes, I won’t repurchase. Scent 5/10, longevity 7.5/10, trail 7/10, value 4/10, versatility 5/10, packaging 7/10. Not buying again.
