Descripción

Crazy For Oud by Mancera is an oriental floral fragrance for men and women. Launched in 2019, this composition is signed by perfumer Pierre Montale. The olfactory pyramid opens with top notes of Laotian oud, leather, and bergamot; the heart reveals a blend of tiramisu, Bulgarian rose, violet, patchouli, and white magnolia; and the base settles on vanilla, woody notes, white musk, amber, and oakmoss.

  • Little discussed, but it’s one of Mancera’s sexiest and most provocative ouds. It opens citrusy with leather and a friendly, astringent, herbaceous oud, blending with a balanced Tiramisu that simulates a dessert with an amaretto liqueur character. It teases the gourmand side without being cloying, with moderate sillage and good longevity. Rose, patchouli, amber, and woods close the seduction party with elegance and mystery. Wearing it is knowing what you want: a silent pretension. A hidden gem; maybe others bet on its sister Precious Ooud for the whiskey note, but otherwise, they are very similar. Try it and give this crazy oud a chance; it’s not as crazy as it sounds.

A delicate and soft oud, nothing pretentious, with a feminine twist where the rose and the Tiramisu sweetness dominate without falling into excessive sweetness or chocolatey, but rather floral. If you’re looking for something less feminine, you’re better off going for Precious Ooud, which is less floral and lets the Tiramisu shine with its whiskey note, resulting in a more unisex and masculine vibe.

  • I completely agree with the two previous reviews regarding the differences and similarities to PRECIOUS OUD…. Both are worn without issues by men or women, although you might subtly notice slight feminine/masculine inclinations in one or the other. To my nose, this CFO has certain reminiscences of INSTANT CRUSH, AMBER FEVER, and ROSES VANILLA by MANCERA, as well as INTENSE CAFÉ by MONTALE, but I should test them side by side. Also INTENSE CAFE RISTRETTO. These last two by CAFE seem identical to me, but I should test them side by side to identify perceptible differences.

  • Very rich aroma. It’s a soft, vanilla, and almondized oud. Unisex, but quite masculine for me. It’s not especially potent. It has a delicious sexy touch. Quite addictive on the skin, even if it’s not particularly original in itself.

  • It’s a very fine aromatic oud with an almost imperceptible sweetness. I notice it mixed with leather and rose, though I don’t feel the other notes. Maybe the sweetness comes from the Tiramisu, but I don’t identify it clearly. It doesn’t smell like that typical rose-oud combo; here, the woody and leather notes dominate, with the rose just in the background. Although similar, the oud is less sweet than in Precious Oud and feels much cleaner, without that stable touch that sometimes appears and is only subtly noticeable at first. Being an oud and leather scent, with bold notes that are usually difficult for me, it seemed very wearable, but it doesn’t speak to me much, and I wouldn’t buy the full bottle. When I think of oud perfumes, I’m looking for something more complex. It has moderate sillage and lasts 6-7 hours on my skin. Even though I like it more than Precious Oud, it feels weak in projection, so I use it for layering. One mix I tried was with Dubai by Zara, which gives it an ideal sweet spot because it’s too dry for me. Alongside Precious Oud, it’s my favorite combo; they complement each other perfectly. Although I enjoy it, like with Precious Oud, it has ended up being a layering fragrance for me, which doesn’t convince me to keep it in my collection at that price, so I won’t repurchase. Scent 5.5/10, Longevity 6.5/10, Sillage 6/10, Value 4/10, Versatility 5/10, Packaging 7/10. Would I buy again? No.

  • It’s the cleanest, most wearable oud I’ve ever tried. Forget the Tiramisu sweetness; here you get soft leather, pear-like fruity notes, and pure oud. It’s delicious to the max, it hugs you, and lasts 4-6 hours. It has a stable touch that gives it character. It doesn’t have much sillage, and it doesn’t need to. Is it feminine? Maybe, but the perfume doesn’t carry it all; you have to contribute if you want to dress it up. Like it? Go for it. Edit: It’s perfect for layering, mixes with almost anything, and adds a sweet, fruity, and animalic oud touch to EVERYTHING. It’s beastly with Fahrenheit, Aventus, Anonymous, or citrus. Also goes great with serious leathers like Cuiris, Halfetis, or Tom Ford. This way, you ensure no one smells like you. The brown is when you explain to the neighbor on the stairs what you’re wearing and they want to buy it too.

  • It’s the easiest and cleanest oud I’ve heard of. I don’t notice the Tiramisu sweetness, just soft leather, floral, pear-like fruity notes, and a very clean, pleasant oud. It’s delicious to the max, it hugs you, and accompanies you for 4 to 6 hours. It has a stable touch that gives it a lot of interest. It doesn’t have great sillage, but it doesn’t need to. Is it feminine? Maybe, but the perfume doesn’t have to do everything; you also have to put in your part to dress it up however you want, besides, who cares if it’s posh? You like it, so go for it. Edit: It’s perfect for layering, mixing with almost anything, and adding a sweet, fruity, and animalic oud touch to EVERYTHING. It’s beastly with Fahrenheit, with Aventus, with Anonymous, with citrus… I happened to wear it with a shirt soaked in Naxos and I was blown away. Also with serious leathers like Cuiris, Halfetis, or Tom Ford. This way, you ensure no one smells like you. The brown is explaining to the neighbor on the stairs what you’re wearing because they want to buy it too.
