A light among dark perfumes. I don’t understand the bad press they get. A few days ago, at a work meeting, a 60-year-old man, elegant and well-dressed, presented himself as a potential investor. He was heard by no one. I recognized the oud and leather. After agreeing on a deal, I asked straight out what perfume he was using. He said it was from Louis Vuitton, didn’t remember the name, or maybe didn’t want to tell me. I asked if it was a dark brown bottle and deduced it was Ombre Nomade. In Argentina, spring with 30 degrees, and believe me, this cold/winter perfume worked perfectly in the heat, without being overwhelming, projecting and leaving an incredible trail. Here I separate the wheat from the chaff: a fresh perfume can be pleasant even without top ingredients. But a dark perfume with low-cost ingredients, like cheap Arab imitations, tends to be nose-breakers. That’s the difference. It’s not the same as LV Ombre Nomade versus Maison Alhambra Jean Lowe Ombre/Noir. There will always be a better world, but unfortunately, it’s more expensive.

It’s a declaration to perfumery: I’m not saying you have to like it, but you have to know how to appreciate it. It’s dark, strong, warm, and the definition of beast mode, with an enormous trail and over 12 hours of longevity. It’s not easy to wear; its incense, oud, and roses are potent but of the highest quality. You have to be in the mood, because if you don’t feel confident, it can be uncomfortable; it’s invasive (I don’t recommend more than 3 sprays). I’ve felt the best in cold weather, at night, and at formal or semi-formal outdoor events. It’s my girlfriend’s favorite in my collection. It shouldn’t be bought blindly, but it’s worth trying a decant. Its best performance kicks in around 30 minutes, because at first the incense can be overwhelming. You’ll use it rarely, but it’s worth the price for the longevity and component quality. You’re going to make a mark; impossible not to have people turn around to look.

What an amazing perfume, Holy Mother of God. If you like oud, then this is great. It’s a mature, masculine fragrance but not old-man-ish; it’s like a sensitive man using retinol—dark yet colorful, contradictory, and that’s what makes it brilliant. It smells primarily of oud, luxurious wood, and then the rose appears (more so than the raspberry, which I don’t detect) as a perfect contrast, with smoky, ambered incense that balances everything. It’s an intoxicating marvel that lasts long: at first, you can smell it from Shanghai, then it settles, but with beastly projection. It smells like a multi-millionaire Arab heading to Prada to buy bags for his 13 wives. Better definition than the RAE. Age: 35+, unisex leaning masculine. Cold, exclusive winter scent (unless you live in Lapland). Scent: 9/10, Longevity: 9.5/10, Duration: 10-12h, Projection: 9.5/10, Versatility: 4/10. Price: €3.60/ml. Final Score: 9.33/10.

This fragrance is pure rock and roll. Imagine a Johnny Depp ad with his guitar; this is the scent that truly captures that attitude. It’s extremely masculine and wild. As a man, I absolutely love it, though only some women like it. I tried it on my girlfriend and she hated it, but I’m obsessed. It evokes power, luxury, and savagery. It’s a heavy scent, so I don’t recommend it for extreme heat, enclosed spaces without AC, or the gym. It’s ideal for nighttime events, formal or semi-formal occasions. It can also work for informal settings if you want to channel that rock and roll vibe with a leather jacket and a sharp look. The main note is Oud—not animalic, but strong. It also smells like gasoline. It’s a potent, dry, and hard aroma. BRUTAL. For me, 11/10.

The best perfume of all time, in caps, the best in my collection. It’s the scent that fascinates me, and I hope it’s always there; mine is an absolute beast. The only downside is that many people buy it just because it’s LV without understanding niche perfumery, and every time I go out at night, I smell it everywhere nearby 😪. Still, I don’t hate it. I had put it away, but I used it again last week: I sprayed it on my jacket, a week later it still smells, overpowering everything else. I’m a woman and Arab, and I love that dark, sensual aroma. The notes I notice most are incense and oud, with a sweet touch of saffron and a fruity hint of raspberry; the rose isn’t very prominent. QUE DECLIA. MAGIC IN A BOTTLE 🥰🥰

Challenging Oud: what can I say, it’s very challenging. The oud has an intense personality, summarized here in rose and woods with a super potent opening. If you want to stand out in a room, you achieve it, but be careful: it’s not necessarily a compliment-getter. The oud is for expert and brave noses, not for everyone. While many call it ‘elegant,’ I can’t see myself wearing it to special events. It’s a fragrance that puts you center stage because it’s strong and different, and not always for the right reasons. My rating: 5/10. Yes, it’s a friendlier oud than others, but I wouldn’t pay the price to be the focus of uncomfortable stares.

What a good and different scent from everything I’ve tried. Hard-to-pinpoint notes: it says oud but it’s something else, says leather but it’s creamy. Resins, spices, and a smoky base. The rose is concentrated. There’s no single standout note, but the blend has its own light. Dark, resinous, spicy, smoky, with oud and rose. It’s not definitive, but I’m very drawn to it. Ideal for formal nights and special occasions. Masculine and for cold weather. Insane performance but doesn’t project as much. As always, the price is the downside. Too bad I’m not rich; I’d own it.

I’ve already tried it in a decant, and it lasts forever, but honestly, when it first came out, it was a winter beast—explosive and novel. Now that clones are popping up everywhere and smell the same instantly, for me, it’s dropped a level. What matters is exclusivity; with all the hype around LV perfumes, everyone is copying, so it no longer surprises when someone smells it. I notice this because I know about perfumery, and if I’m being fooled by a clone, it’s no longer that unique perfume that makes you stand out.

Very strong aroma, don’t buy blindly. It’s serious and meant for formal or special outdoor occasions. I wore it to a wedding and it was excellent. Good projection, not too overwhelming thanks to the cold outdoor weather. Note: I brought a decant for the wedding to avoid saturating the church, and it broke at the end :/. My girlfriend is one of the few in my collection who likes it. OVERALL 9/10 in my opinion, it lacked a bit of projection, but without a doubt it’s one of the best on the market.

I was gifted two samples at LV, and after testing it on skin and clothes, I can confirm it’s a beast of a perfume—very masculine and formal. It’s not identical but seems like a sibling to Tom Ford’s Tuscan Leather; they smell very similar, with that leather and raspberry vibe that dominates TL. They share a similar energy. I wouldn’t recommend it for young people heading to parties or trying to pick someone up; it’s absolutely for formal situations. It’s a treasure I’ll buy as soon as I can.

I tried it in a 5ml decant I’d been hoarding for years. It’s potent, dense, and invasive, perfect for mature people and moments that demand presence. The oud, saffron, and incense stand out, softened by a rose and a creamy dark leather. High projection that fills rooms, lasts 12 hours consistently. Not my daily style; it’s too intense for me, though I acknowledge its quality and longevity. Ideal for fall/winter if you want something distinctive. Rating: 5.5 (great quality, just not for me).

In 2017, I got to try an LV perfume at Plaza de Hierro in Guadalajara; they gave me a sample that I wasted without really appreciating it, but when I returned to Culiacán, I finally understood the value of that treasure. The problem is I don’t remember exactly which one it was, only that it was from 2017, unisex, and refillable. A few months ago, I smelled an Arabic perfume, Al Qiam Silver, that reminded me of it for some note. Does this help you figure out which LV perfume it was? 🙏🏻

A relative has it, and the moment he walks in, he makes himself noticed in the whole room. Woody and smoky with a very attractive floral rose touch. Definitely my favorite perfume. I don’t know if it’s unisex; I’ve never worn it or smelled it on a woman, but I suppose it would work well. There’s a lot of diversity of opinions, and I love that; I adore that it’s not a perfume everyone likes. That makes it very exclusive. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
jesuslp6056
Extremely masculine aroma, ideal for formal wear and evening events. With just a few sprays, you stand out, projecting respect, seriousness, and sophistication. Don’t expect compliments from women; it’s not versatile, but it’s a treasure: a sweet tobacco with raspberry hints and a clean oud with smoky touches. It’s not for everyone, but it’s worth owning, even if the price is high and doesn’t justify every cent. Definitely not a blind buy.

I was lucky enough to try this fragrance and it meets expectations. The blend of oud, rose, raspberry, incense, and leather creates a dark, highly personal aroma. The quality is excellent, niche level. The performance is brutal: it projects and lasts a long time, leaving a deep trail. The price is high, but so is the quality. Not my personal favorite, but I totally recommend it for those looking for something intense and sophisticated.

I returned to Louis Vuitton on Canalejas to try it again after some time, and something strange happened. I sprayed it and was blown away; it didn’t resemble the Ombre Nomade decant I had before at all—it literally smells like tobacco leaf. I was floored. I mentioned it to the sales associate, but he didn’t know much about perfumery. I’m not sure if it’s a very recent batch, but it was absolutely mind-blowing.

Finally tried it! It’s a masterpiece, one of the best commercial ouds I’ve ever smelled: dense yet balanced by the rose. It has a slightly dirty, gasoline-like touch, but nothing animalic; perfect for cold weather with a leather jacket and an IDGAF attitude. Reminds me of James Bond on his night adventures. Top quality, though pricey. It’s not a compliment perfume, but a very distinguished statement piece.
Itshectr
You can only call it ‘Nomad’: a mix of Oud-like woods, leather, and floral notes that make you picture someone on a horse or tending a campfire before bed. The trail is brutal and lasts 8 to 10 hours on my skin (it’s winter and raining where I live). It’s not for everyone, of course, but to be honest, the compliments far outnumber the people who don’t like the scent.

Ombre Nomade by LV is a tribute to lovers of luxury raw materials, from the aesthetes of the Near East to those who appreciate exceptional perfumery. With top notes of raspberry, saffron, and geranium, a heart of incense, oud, and rose, and a base of benzoin, amber, and smoked birch, it captures that irrational essence that made it so extraordinary.
JumbledDoor
I’m absolutely crazy about this Ombre Nomade. I picked it for my cousin’s wedding, and I barely arrived before people started complimenting me; the groom was wearing it too and mentioned he gets comments every time he uses it (he lives in England). If he chose it for the most important day of his life, it’s because it’s genuinely good.

Not for everyone; if you don’t have a refined sense of smell, it can sound like paint or old furniture. To me, it smells like smoky, dry agarwood with a sweet base that’s not cloying. As it dries down, the rose and raspberry take over without being feminine, but rather addictive, leading into warm amberwood. Only for cold nights.
Santuccie
A work of art. I get a vibe very similar to Nuit de Feu and Nouveau Monde, almost like siblings. It’s a sweet, ambered oud with elegant leather that envelops you. It smells like absolute luxury, like a private jet. Intense yet refined, perfect for marking territory and rubbing off on rich kids.
Giorgiano
As Angelard says, it smells terrible. A coworker used it, and I asked him what it was; he said ‘Nomad,’ and I told him to stay away because it smells bad, like smoky amber with too much incense. What a mess. I’d rather go with Imagination or L’Immensité; I prefer fresh, crisp fragrances.
Jupasoto7
I think this is the best I’ve ever smelled. Many think it’s perfume for older people, but that’s a lie; what matters is dressing well. I heard it in a school cafeteria in the USA, and an 11-year-old was wearing it. The fragrance filled the place for hours and it’s massive.
sicarx-x
It’s serious and not for everyone; rather, it’s for an elegant, classy gentleman. It has that strange new shoe leather opening typical of niche fragrances, but as it dries down, the rose and oud become noticeable. To me, it’s unique—the absolute best in dark fragrances.
lonami25
I was gifted a sample; on paper it seemed normal, but on my skin it’s something else: super good, sweet but not dessert-like, with leather and woods. I love it, only that it’s very expensive.
Juan66
To each their own. It smells like furniture polish to me, mosquito repellent to my sister, and car oil to my nephew. The only thing that united us is that the scent lasts almost forever.
sicarx-x
Just saying, it’s not for everyone: it’s invasive, classy, and top-tier quality. Whoever wears it will smell like a millionaire. Recommended for niche perfume fans.
xavi40rios
At first, it smells like burnt incense, but on the skin, it’s wow. It’s the best winter perfume, lasting over 12 hours on skin and 15 on clothes. I give it 10/10.
Fernando Dihern
It smells weird but good—a blend of fine woods and class. If you want to turn heads and have the money for it, this is yours, and yes, it is actually expensive.
