It’s a masterpiece, a top-tier fragrance. Sweet but not cloying, almost edible, with a natural, intense rose. It starts with a pleasant liquor note, then after 30 minutes it’s all rose, caramel, and vanilla, finishing beautifully with benzoin and vanilla. Perfect for mild or cold weather and suitable for daytime wear. It makes you feel sexy and elegant. Good longevity, around 8 hours, with a nice sillage. Would I buy it again? Definitely, yes 🙂

  • Once again, a fragrance dominated by the rose note that, to me, who always thought I didn’t like that note, I absolutely love. I’ll have to rethink my stance. It smells like sweetened roses, very sexy and carnal. For some reason, I feel super comfortable when I wear it. Over time, it becomes sweeter on my skin. It’s very similar to Oud Satin Mood and was also created by Francis Kurkdjian. The first few hours have great projection; after 4-5 hours, it stays closer to the skin, where it lasts up to 10 hours. Scent 9.5/10, Longevity 9/10, Projection 8/10, Value/Price 9/10, Versatility 8/10, Packaging 10/10. Would I buy it again? A thousand times yes.

  • Another fragrance where the rose takes the lead, and I, who always thought I didn’t like roses, absolutely love it. I’ll have to rethink everything. A lucky blind buy with exceptional quality from the great Francis Kurkdjian. It opens with a powerful, sweet rose and a light alcohol touch, followed by pink pepper, patchouli, and musk for warmth, before vanilla embraces everything, leaving a sweet, feminine, and elegant trail. Projection is exceptional with over 8 hours of longevity. If you like roses, this must be in your collection. After two hours on the skin, the rose, benzoin, and vanilla dominate; it reminds me of Mancera’s Roses Vanilla but without so much sugar. L’Extase Rose Absolue is perfect. Beautiful and practical bottle. Recommended: yes. Would I buy it again: yes.

A lucky blind buy; it’s a very high-quality fragrance created by the great Francis Kurkdjian. The scent opens with a potent, sweet natural rose, with a slight alcoholic touch; then pink pepper with patchouli and musk appear, providing warmth, until the vanilla embraces the whole combination, making it sweet, feminine, and elegant. It has exceptional projection and longevity over 8 hours. If you like roses, you must have it in your collection. After 2 hours on skin, the scent of rose with benzoin and vanilla takes over; here it reminds me a bit of Mancera’s Roses Vanilla but without that excessive sugar touch. On the contrary, L’Extase Rose Absolue is perfectly balanced. Also, the bottle is beautiful and practical. Recommended: Yes, I would buy it again: Yes.

  • Smells like olive, olive oil… I don’t like it. Very heavy and unpleasant aroma. I don’t smell the rose anywhere. They compare it to Roses Musk and Roses Vanille… nothing could be further from the truth, it’s the worst of the L’Extase line.

I bought it hoping for a pleasant rose scent in a blind buy based on references… a blunder. DO NOT buy if you are looking for a true fresh rose scent. I smelled it like a dupe of those Lancome perfumes, style LVR and company. The projection is initially high, but drops after 3 hours. If you want something cheaper than Lancome, maybe it’s an option, but if you want rich roses, go for a Parisienne by YSL. Even better, to feel a fresh rose, buy Rose by L’Occitane (rose with musk, soft but rich) or Rosa Aqua by Perfumo de Lerbolario (artisanal fresh rose, 100% garden rose smell). Unfortunately, rose perfumes as we knew them are slowly disappearing.

I bought it hoping for a pleasant rose scent after blind-buying based on recommendations… a huge mistake. DO NOT BUY this if you’re looking for a fresh, real rose. I smelled it like a Lancome dupe, in the style of LVR and company. The initial trail is high, but it drops significantly after 3 hours. If you want something cheaper than Lancome, this might be an option, but if you’re seeking rich roses, go for YSL Parisienne. If you want a fresh rose, try Loccitane Rose (rose with musk, soft but rich) or Lerbolario Perfumo Rosa Aqua (artisanal fresh roses, 100% garden scent). Unfortunately, perfumes like roses used to be are disappearing…

  • I loved it; it’s a sexy, woody, sweet rose without being cloying. As soon as I tested it, it seemed familiar; yes, I have Alexandre J.’s Rose Alba, and testing them side by side, they are very similar with similar performance. It seems like a jewel and the best I’ve smelled from Nina Ricci alongside Rose Extase and L’Extase, delicious!

  • This fragrance projects like a beast for the first 2-3 hours; I was impressed. In its development, what I feel most is the rose, the vanilla, and a very measured patchouli, and in the dry down, the pepper stands out perfectly. In its dry down (the following 6-7 hours), it becomes very similar to Zara’s Rose Gourmand, which came out as a clone of Mancera’s Roses Vanille (which I haven’t smelled). There’s that data point in case you can’t get this, as it’s already discontinued.

What a beauty! It wasn’t easy to find, but it was done. Overall, I love the L’Extase line, and this is the queen for me. I find a certain similarity to Shaghaf Oud by Swiss Arabian (they aren’t identical or dupes, but they follow a similar line; if you like one, you’ll like the other). It’s a dark, velvety, sweet, and sensual rose with very well-balanced spices and a base that smells like oud, even without that note. It has great similarity to Oud Satin Mood, but less resinous and more wearable. I don’t notice that sharp opening that many mention; to me, it smells delicious from start to finish, plus it has excellent performance.

  • Projects like a beast for the first 2-3 hours; I was seriously impressed. In the development, I detect rose, vanilla, and a very measured patchouli, while the pepper notes stand out perfectly at the end. During the dry-down (the following 6-7 hours), it becomes very similar to Zara’s Rose Gourmand, which is a clone of Mancera’s Roses Vanille (which I haven’t heard of), but since that one is discontinued and might be hard to find, here’s the tip.

What a beauty! It wasn’t easy to find, but I managed to get it. I love the L’Extase line, and this is the king of the bunch. I see some resemblance (they aren’t the same or dupes, but they follow a similar vibe, so if you like one, you’ll likely like the other) to Swiss Arabian’s Shagaf Oud. It’s a dark, velvety, sweet, and sensual rose with well-balanced spices and a base that smells like oud, even though it doesn’t actually have that note. It has a strong similarity to Oud Satin Mood but is less resinous and much more wearable. I don’t notice that sharp opening many people mention; to me, it smells delicious from start to finish. Plus, it has excellent performance.

  • I bought it blind expecting fresh roses from the first spray, but initially, I only noticed a strange and unpleasantly sour smell (some say olive, I feel sour). I was about to sell it, but I gave it another chance. Although it still has that sour touch, it’s a bomb of velvety, mature, and sweet red roses. I have dozens of rose perfumes, including the full L’Extase line, and while most aim for soft roses, here the rose is strong and mature, accompanied by a vanilla sweetness reminiscent of ‘La Nuit’, though those last ones lose the rose for me and become cloying. The vanilla sweetness of L’Extase is very pleasant and sensual. I’m glad to have the complete collection, especially since the same perfumer created all five perfumes in the line.

  • I understand some might detect a balsamic or olive note at first, but it’s part of the resins and pepper. It almost disappears after 20 minutes, leaving behind the benzoin, which is pleasant, and a base of nearly caramelized vanilla without being cloying, paired with a rose that smells like very red, dried petals with a slightly powdery violet. A delight.

Wow, what a bombshell! It’s dark, sexy, and opulent, with projection and longevity that are unmatched. Although I’ve never been a fan of overpowering roses, I absolutely love oriental and spicy fragrances, and this fits perfectly. It’s seductive, demanding personality and confidence; it’s a battle fragrance for dates or for seduction. For the price, it’s a pleasant surprise from Nina Ricci, 100% recommended.
