La Vie est Belle L’Elixir by Lancôme

Raspberry is the star all the time, I like the green touch, the woods, and the liquor. All the declared notes are present except for the cocoa butter. The performance is the same as the rest of the line. While it’s the youngest flanker, I don’t see it for under 25, nor for casual or hot daytime outings… it’s a perfume leaning towards dark that shines more on cool nights. As it evolves, the sweetness (vanilla) becomes more prominent.

I was looking for a good cherry perfume and tried this to see how it went on me, since I discovered that in the luteal phase of my cycle I smell super sophisticated and it has excellent projection. The sales associate recommended it to me (she also mentioned Fame in Love by Rabanne, which I didn’t like, I already have a review). It pleasantly surprised me. It has a sweet and powdery opening that reminds me of the classic La Vie est Belle that I already owned and used up, but much sexier, perfect for the night. It settled beautifully on my skin and I enjoy sniffing my arm so much. I’ll see what happens as it dries down over time… Okay, the longevity is over 10 hours on my skin, it’s like I tattooed it on myself 😂 it must be the leather, which fixes it wonderfully. I’m not sure if I’d buy it because it doesn’t drive me crazy, I want to keep exploring, maybe I’ll listen to the sales associate about the peach ones, I’ll go try them.

I went to the JC Penney store here in Puerto Rico and sprayed some on my wrist since the perfume was on the Lancôme counter and I liked it, my boyfriend loved it… it’s on my wishlist!! ❤️

I’m retracting my previous thought. My boyfriend gifted it to me yesterday and I could smell it better. It’s a beauty. Spicy red fruits, fine, delicate. Great sillage. Today in Buenos Aires the weather is beautiful, 28 degrees, and it goes perfectly. They’ve already complimented me!

I’m not a fan of LVEB and never imagined buying one. Today I went out for a perfume tasting and honestly, it was love at first sniff. I’m obsessed with fruity notes and always look for dark perfumes that aren’t too childish fruits. This one has everything I’m looking for. As its name suggests, it’s an elixir, so if you can’t handle strong perfumes, stay away. The best description would be dark raspberry, like with a touch of liquor, and surprisingly the raspberry remains present throughout the entire duration. Plus, the fact that it’s refillable is a huge bonus, and if you catch it at a good price, it’s a win-win. I don’t know why this flanker isn’t talked about more. In short, I’m proud of my purchase.

Starting with the fact that my skin eats up perfumes and it’s hard for me to get compliments on any of them, this is a bomb. Every time I wear it, I get showered with compliments. It’s a mix of La Vie est Belle Intense (another highly praised one) and Insolence by Guerlain. A few days ago I wore it and went to visit my cousin who works in cosmetics and perfumery, she couldn’t believe it was a La Vie est Belle. I like Insolence but sometimes I notice it’s too ‘mature’ due to the amount of powdery violet, and there comes an age when one wants to feel younger. L’Elixir has that raspberry point that makes the violet seem young.

What a crazy perfume! The sweet raspberry, violets, and cocoa really stand out. The longevity is beast mode; it lasted 14 hours on me. The projection is incredible; one spray on my wrist and everyone could smell it. Very feminine, fruity, and sweet without being cloying. I wouldn’t wear it much in summer, but it’s definitely recommended.

I think this is the best flanker to Vie Est Belle. I never bought the original because it felt too familiar and worn out, though I admit it’s nice. It’s a fruity gourmand fragrance; what I notice most is the raspberry liqueur, leather, and cocoa butter. It feels very original; I couldn’t find anything like it before. It’s versatile, great for daytime in spring, and for day and night in autumn and winter. Longevity and projection are excellent. We love Lancôme perfumes.

It’s an elegant and long-lasting perfume. I tested it in-store and fell in love. Perfumes don’t usually last on me, but this one stuck for about 8 hours. It’s very pricey in Argentina, but I’ll buy it if there’s a sale.

It smells like lipstick, thanks to the prominent cocoa butter note. On me, it has zero projection. It might last a while, but the scent is very low-key and hard to detect.

Just saying: don’t buy without testing. I have a decant, and maybe it won’t work on my skin since I disliked it.

I bought it blind because of the reviews and the brand. The quality is excellent, and the projection and longevity on skin are huge, just as I expected. It’s a warm perfume that reminds me of the adults from my childhood because of that dominant violet note, but it’s not vintage or old-fashioned; it has personality. It’s not for teenagers, and my husband loves it. If I had tested it, maybe I wouldn’t have chosen it because it’s very different from what I usually wear, but it makes me feel empowered and I love it.

I’m not a fan of LVEB, but I love this one; I wouldn’t even include it in the line. The boozy raspberry opening is exceptional, with great projection and longevity; the leather stays with me all day and feels well-feminine. Still, like any fragrance, I suggest not buying it blind, as the notes might not appeal to everyone.
