La Vie est Belle L'Elixir by Lancôme is a floral-fruited gourmand fragrance for women. Launched in 2024, this creation was designed by Antoine Maisondieu and Christophe Raynaud. Its opening unfolds with raspberry, liqueur, and Calabrian bergamot; the heart reveals violet leaf and rose; while the base settles on leather, cocoa butter, and cedar.

I picked it up early this year at the airport, and it transported me to a happy time in the 90s at a convent school at six years old, receiving violet candies every time the nun did her chores… very happy times. I bought it on sale and sprayed it on a doll three hours ago. I can’t stand strong perfumes in summer; normally I prefer soaps, creams, and clean citrus body mists. I took a risk trying it while sweaty, stressed, and in humid weather: I didn’t feel like vomiting, and nothing was unbearable (unlike the Guerlain Allegoria Pear Granita I received last week, which is something else entirely). To me, it smells like violet candies, though the raspberry is camouflaged and, along with the bergamot, gives it a citrusy touch. The rose is also hidden but helps enhance the violet, and the cocoa butter and liquor give it a gourmet feel. It’s a marvel. Now everyone buys perfumes, and many smell the same or are so strong I can’t adapt, but finding this gem was a great success and gave me a boost of joy. pd: I haven’t heard any other Vie Est Belle so I can’t compare.

  • First impressions on paper and skin: the sillage is incredible, but the scent didn’t meet expectations; it smells like powdery raspberry jelly. I liked it, but it didn’t win me over; I wouldn’t buy it, though it seemed more intense than usual. Just to say, its longevity and sillage are impressive.

  • I’m number one hater of La Vie Est Belle, but this Elixir version is something else. It’s a mix of fruits with violets, a very present raspberry, and citrusy grapefruit touches that wrap everything around. I even detect a hint of vanilla that sweetens the whole fruit mix without being annoying. I never thought I’d say this about any La Vie Est Belle, but it was love at first sight.

La Vie Est Belle L’Elixir is my dream fragrance. A wonderful scent. Before owning it, I used three bottles of Dolce & Gabbana Queen, which is somewhat similar but softer. But this perfume, La Vie Est Belle L’Elixir, is the most exquisite thing my body has received in perfumes. I recommend it as a life experience.

I picked it up out of curiosity and to say it smells good. I saw it was similar to others I own and thought, ‘brinca, qué alto’, without thinking. Turns out it smells just like my Insolence, which I adore, and a lot like Celeste by Guerlain. At first, it’s heavy on violet and lasts all day with a fruity touch. Halfway through, the raspberry with liquor comes out, followed by a note I can’t identify that I didn’t like, I think leather, though I sometimes like it. The raspberry returns until it fades. Lasts 5-7 hours, you put it on and carry it with you in clear waves. Smells good, it’s pretty, feminine, and potent, but… it’s too similar to other violet perfumes and that confuses me. Maybe I’ll fall in love with it later.

  • Gross. Smells sweet, old, and overpowering. I only detect raspberry and violet, and it gave me a brutal headache. It smells like Dove shampoo.

  • Just super-sweet violets, didn’t hook me. Wish you’d try a sample before spending; reviews praise it, but I don’t see it that way. Glad I grabbed a decant!

  • I tested it yesterday at a perfumery; it’s rich and very different from any La Vie Est B. I like it, but the problem is that its longevity on me was only 20 minutes, then it faded to skin scent, and from there on, for two hours, it felt like a very cheap perfume. It might be my skin, I don’t know; I tested Vanilla Nude and that one lasted a long time, but I don’t like it. I’ll test it again another day to see what happens. I’d love for it to work well and last. We’ll see…

  • I’m not a fan of LVEB, but I love this one; I wouldn’t even include it in the line. The boozy raspberry opening is exceptional, with great projection and longevity; the leather stays with me all day and feels well-feminine. Still, like any fragrance, I suggest not buying it blind, as the notes might not appeal to everyone.

  • Just saying, I tested it today at Perfumerías Rouge (Buenos Aires) and didn’t like it at all, so I can’t evaluate persistence or projection. I almost bought it online, but luckily I went and tested it first.

  • Eugenia Argentina

I bought it blind because of the reviews and the brand. The quality is excellent, and the projection and longevity on skin are huge, just as I expected. It’s a warm perfume that reminds me of the adults from my childhood because of that dominant violet note, but it’s not vintage or old-fashioned; it has personality. It’s not for teenagers, and my husband loves it. If I had tested it, maybe I wouldn’t have chosen it because it’s very different from what I usually wear, but it makes me feel empowered and I love it.

  • One of the perfumes that follows me the most since I first smelled it. The violet notes are super noticeable; if you’re not looking for something sweet, this isn’t for you. The longevity and projection are typical of Lancôme, although I know people who can’t smell it after a couple of hours.

  • I bought it after testing it in-store, where it smelled like fresh, rich raspberry, but on my skin, it just smells like vanilla raspberry. It’s too strong and sweet; it even gives me nausea. It bothers me because the scent is nice, but it’s overly cloying.

  • Just saying: don’t buy without testing. I have a decant, and maybe it won’t work on my skin since I disliked it.

  • I bought it blind based on good reviews, but honestly… it didn’t work for me. It feels like a mix of Insolence and LPRN by Guerlain. I only tried it once, and the longevity is moderate; I’ll have to test it more to see how it projects. For now, I’m giving it a 6/10. Not what I expected. Don’t buy it blind.

  • AlessiaGomez

It smells like lipstick, thanks to the prominent cocoa butter note. On me, it has zero projection. It might last a while, but the scent is very low-key and hard to detect.

  • I just bought it and am testing it now, so I can’t comment on sillage or longevity yet. What I can say is that I absolutely love it. The standout note is the raspberry, which is very different from the one in my signature scent, Angel Nova. This one feels more sophisticated and creamy. The liqueur is intoxicating, and there’s a creamy caress in the dry down that makes it enjoyable. I’ll update my review once I see how it evolves. So far, a very positive surprise.

  • It’s an elegant and long-lasting perfume. I tested it in-store and fell in love. Perfumes don’t usually last on me, but this one stuck for about 8 hours. It’s very pricey in Argentina, but I’ll buy it if there’s a sale.

I think this is the best flanker to Vie Est Belle. I never bought the original because it felt too familiar and worn out, though I admit it’s nice. It’s a fruity gourmand fragrance; what I notice most is the raspberry liqueur, leather, and cocoa butter. It feels very original; I couldn’t find anything like it before. It’s versatile, great for daytime in spring, and for day and night in autumn and winter. Longevity and projection are excellent. We love Lancôme perfumes.

  • SpicyBastard

Tastes good—the best description is the smell of a cherry lollipop right when you take it out of the wrapper. It has great sillage; when my wife wears it, I can smell it from afar, and it always makes my mouth water just by sniffing it.

  • FlorPerfumito21

What a crazy perfume! The sweet raspberry, violets, and cocoa really stand out. The longevity is beast mode; it lasted 14 hours on me. The projection is incredible; one spray on my wrist and everyone could smell it. Very feminine, fruity, and sweet without being cloying. I wouldn’t wear it much in summer, but it’s definitely recommended.

  • This is the first designer perfume I’ve ever bought. I stumbled upon it and was blown away. On my skin, it smells like raspberry liqueur, but around me, you can detect the powdery touch of violet leaves. At first, I thought I’d wasted my money, but I admit it’s worth every euro.

  • Starting with the fact that my skin eats up perfumes and it’s hard for me to get compliments on any of them, this is a bomb. Every time I wear it, I get showered with compliments. It’s a mix of La Vie est Belle Intense (another highly praised one) and Insolence by Guerlain. A few days ago I wore it and went to visit my cousin who works in cosmetics and perfumery, she couldn’t believe it was a La Vie est Belle. I like Insolence but sometimes I notice it’s too ‘mature’ due to the amount of powdery violet, and there comes an age when one wants to feel younger. L’Elixir has that raspberry point that makes the violet seem young.

  • If you’re looking for something with attitude, this is the best find. Smells like super sweet raspberry gummies. Everyone will notice you, stare, and ask about it. It has serious punch, feels feminine, sexy, and radiant.

  • I’m not a fan of LVEB and never imagined buying one. Today I went out for a perfume tasting and honestly, it was love at first sniff. I’m obsessed with fruity notes and always look for dark perfumes that aren’t too childish fruits. This one has everything I’m looking for. As its name suggests, it’s an elixir, so if you can’t handle strong perfumes, stay away. The best description would be dark raspberry, like with a touch of liquor, and surprisingly the raspberry remains present throughout the entire duration. Plus, the fact that it’s refillable is a huge bonus, and if you catch it at a good price, it’s a win-win. I don’t know why this flanker isn’t talked about more. In short, I’m proud of my purchase.

  • I love it with all my ❤️, I didn’t like La Vie est Belle until I found it, it has a violet that reminds me of a candy from the 90s, and combined with raspberry it gives the perfume a reinvention that makes it younger.

  • Perfumepassion

I’m retracting my previous thought. My boyfriend gifted it to me yesterday and I could smell it better. It’s a beauty. Spicy red fruits, fine, delicate. Great sillage. Today in Buenos Aires the weather is beautiful, 28 degrees, and it goes perfectly. They’ve already complimented me!

  • Gaby Pedroza

Elixir has been the best flanker the brand has to date, it’s hard for me to admit it dethroned my beloved Intense, since Elixir possesses the performance qualities of the classic EDP with a much younger and versatile scent. While the touch of violets and raspberries reminds me quite a bit of Insolence, Elixir has an almost buttery creaminess to the nose and a boozy touch that is very sexy. Without a doubt, my best perfume of 2025.

  • I went to the JC Penney store here in Puerto Rico and sprayed some on my wrist since the perfume was on the Lancôme counter and I liked it, my boyfriend loved it… it’s on my wishlist!! ❤️

  • vikstrasza

I was looking for a good cherry perfume and tried this to see how it went on me, since I discovered that in the luteal phase of my cycle I smell super sophisticated and it has excellent projection. The sales associate recommended it to me (she also mentioned Fame in Love by Rabanne, which I didn’t like, I already have a review). It pleasantly surprised me. It has a sweet and powdery opening that reminds me of the classic La Vie est Belle that I already owned and used up, but much sexier, perfect for the night. It settled beautifully on my skin and I enjoy sniffing my arm so much. I’ll see what happens as it dries down over time… Okay, the longevity is over 10 hours on my skin, it’s like I tattooed it on myself 😂 it must be the leather, which fixes it wonderfully. I’m not sure if I’d buy it because it doesn’t drive me crazy, I want to keep exploring, maybe I’ll listen to the sales associate about the peach ones, I’ll go try them.

  • MelinaCereza

It’s 100% different from the original. It’s boozy raspberry with real leather, a beauty in terms of longevity. I’d wear it all day, even though I’m not usually into intense fragrances. It’s powerful and perfect for night, ideal for winter and autumn. If you want to smell different, this is the way to go. WARNING: don’t buy it blind, test it first first ♥

  • Perfumadict

Raspberry is the star all the time, I like the green touch, the woods, and the liquor. All the declared notes are present except for the cocoa butter. The performance is the same as the rest of the line. While it’s the youngest flanker, I don’t see it for under 25, nor for casual or hot daytime outings… it’s a perfume leaning towards dark that shines more on cool nights. As it evolves, the sweetness (vanilla) becomes more prominent.
