Love it. Opens fresh with orange and neroli, thankfully not powdery. Then comes the classic iris-musk combo from the line; the white musk doesn’t bother me here either. In the heart, you catch a hint of juniper with that green freshness like in Nymphéa. To finish, the sweet notes take over, especially the resinous benzoin, though sometimes the balsamic softness of vanilla pops up. I love the variety of nuances: the floral-fruity orange blossom stays consistent throughout, and the iris doesn’t stand out as much as people say—it blends beautifully with the benzoin as it dries. Any guy today would wear this and ask for 200 euros. Lasts great.

I like it. Starts fresh with orange and neroli, fortunately not too powdery. Soon comes the iris-musk combo from the line; the white musk doesn’t bother me, I tolerate it well. In the middle, the typical linen shows up with that green freshness like in Nymphéa. To close, the sweet notes take over, especially the resinous benzoin, though sometimes the balsamic softness of vanilla appears. I love the nuances: the orange blossom keeps its floral-fruity feel the whole time, and the iris doesn’t stand out as much as people say—it blends well with the benzoin as it dries. Any guy today would wear this and ask for 200 euros. Lasts great.

PRADA’s INFUSION D’IRIS EDP ABSOLUE is pure French boudoir luxury, with a touch of powdered lipstick. Same class as L’INSTANT by GUERLAIN or VALENTINO UOMO INTENSE: that languid, indulgent luxury. Like in ‘Last Year at Marienbad’—marble, stucco, and opulent salons from another century. From the start, the iris invades everything without stopping as it dries. It’s warm, sweet, velvety, making me want to sniff my arm over and over. At times it’s gourmand, like a savarin in orange blossom and rose water with vanilla sugar. The sweet flowers, woody benzoin, and vanilla with tonka bean create an aura like a gauze shawl or a lace handkerchief on a gold jacket. It’s the perfume Grace Kelly wore in ‘The Swan’ or Audrey Hepburn in ‘My Fair Lady’. SCENT: exquisite, sophisticated, elegant / TRAIL: high and enveloping / LONGEVITY: high / PERFORMANCE: high / USE: evening, autumn-winter, important events.

It’s a shame this isn’t coming to Chile; I’m dying to try this iris absolute after falling in love with the classic infusions—I’m already looking for a way to import it.
