Infusion d’Iris Cèdre by Prada

Does anyone know if the current Infusion de Cedre is the same as the old Infusion de Iris Cedre? Prada’s website says they removed iris from the name and added mandarin, but perfumeries still claim it has neroli and iris. It’s so confusing—does it still have iris, or is it something else?

Wow, this is incredible! It smells like refined wood, like the kind found inside yachts and sailboats. Perfect for summer; it reminds me of the smell of the chairs at the America’s Cup.

It’s impossible to be objective; I love Prada. This is the ultimate neutral scent—it keeps you clean and crisp anywhere. Along with Amber Pour Homme and L’homme L’eau, these are the kings of clean fragrances. It makes you look put-together; you can’t go wrong. Longevity is moderate (6-8 hours). If you have the money, don’t hesitate: it’s pricey, but every penny is worth it.

Perfumiris, Prada discontinued Infusion de Iris Cedre a year ago and replaced it with Infusion de Cedre. I asked Prada if they were the same, and they said no—they are very similar but distinct. They confirmed that even though iris isn’t listed, the new version still contains it. Another difference is the absence of neroli in the new one. They also toned down the iris and boosted the cedar. Despite having tried the original only a little, I prefer the new Infusion de Cedre. Once I’ve had more time with it, I’ll write the review it deserves for this great scent.

Prada’s Infusions are masterpieces. It all started with the award-winning Infusion d’Iris, an exquisite scent where cleanliness and elegance reach new heights. Then came the discontinued Infusion d’Homme, more masculine but sharing the same soapy DNA. As its successor came Infusion d’Iris Cedre, the male twin, hard to distinguish unless you’re an expert. It’s a bit less citrusy and drier, but part of the same family. I prefer the Iris Cedre for that extra elegance the white woods bring, plus that neutrality that everyone loves, even non-perfume wearers. It’s a luxury soapy cleanliness that projects and lasts longer than it seems without being annoying, leaving a trail of high-end laundry. One of my favorites, getting more expensive and harder to find.

It’s the cleanest, most elegant, and driest men’s and women’s perfume I know. Prada’s Infusions are friendly, and here that friendliness is wrapped in sober, impeccable wood. It has a very neutral, unisex, concise, and serious aroma, ideal for settings where you want to be discreet but smell good: hospitals, meetings, exams… environments that require a low profile. It doesn’t invade, but it has presence. A calm, selective, and distinguished presence, elegant without ostentation. It’s an elegant infusion of cleanliness to dress up stylishly. I love that precise touch of feminine masculinity, like wearing a shirt and tie. Confident, self-assured elegance.

I’m tossing this from my collection if anyone in Spain is interested. It’s about 6ml short.

Smells clean, elegant, and with Italian class. Powerful citrus opening, followed by that softer iris from Prada Homme. In the trail, it creates a bubble that projects around you. Two sprays on my forearms at 7 PM, and today at 2 PM, it’s still noticeable if you get close. Pure quality. If you like Prada Homme, this is similar with that iris and clean citrus touch, like Acqua Di Parma Colonia Pura.

I’ve been wearing this as my signature since it replaced Infusion D’Homme, which I couldn’t try, and that was later swapped for Infusion de Cedre, the one currently available. It’s more complex, but to the untrained nose, the difference is minimal, and I’m glad I can keep using it. The issue is that the current Infusion de Cedre costs more and is hard to find; curious what Prada is doing lately. Both have good longevity for a clean, floral, dry scent with a subtle incense touch. Projection isn’t strong, but the scent seeks moderation. Hope they don’t discontinue it because for autumn and spring as a clean signature, there’s nothing else like it.

Since 2015, Infusion d’Iris Cèdre lost the iris from its name and box, becoming Infusion de Cedre. I suppose in this whirlwind, Prada never stops tweaking ingredients. Their website still calls it Iris Cèdre, so I deduced the EDP replaced the previous one, but Jerry Drake told me they’re different: in this Cèdre, there’s less iris. I don’t know the previous versions, but this one is clean, neat, crystalline, slightly crisp, and subtly sweet while it lasts. Nothing conveys cleanliness more. Nothing like the L’Homme line, which I don’t like; here, the scent is clean skin, evoking being between sheets on a sunny spring morning, freshly showered. I think there’s no better frame. The iris is there even if not described; I don’t notice the mandarin, but I do the cedar, soft and subtle, developing without straying from subtlety into a neat scent with tiny sweet hints from benzoin and incense. Without a doubt, the best in the Infusion collection I’ve tried, on par with Amber Pour Homme. Prada handles these clean scents better, though they should stop confusing customers with so many modifications. Medium longevity, a clean and soft scent that lightly colors the olfactory parchment as transparent as the bottle. Perhaps purists see the lack of projection as a flaw; I think it could use more punch, but moderation is the message. A signature perfume for those who want to feel at peace, clean, and pleasant, without drawing attention. Ideal for warm and temperate climates, totally daytime, for any occasion and unisex. Don’t be fooled into thinking they’re focusing on cedar now because it has a woody nuance; the notes are nuances, none dominate in this soft, well-made ensemble.

Sometimes what you want on your skin is a fresh, neutral scent. With Infusion d’Iris Cèdre, Prada offers elegant, refined cleanliness, soft and calming—a powdery floral scent that smells like laundry drying in the sun. If it were a color, it would be dazzling white, with a bright celestial aura, like sunlight through a cloud or powdery snow on a mountain. It’s a quiet, peaceful perfume containing almost icy iris at the start, like a winter wind from the east, with a bit of neroli and violet. The character is impressive and unique. These floral notes are set on a layer of cedar and benzoin that lasts quite a while, surprising because even though it’s clean, it’s deceptively strong at first. You think clean scents don’t project, but Prada proves the opposite. Although clean, it has a slight sweetness, and the incense is very measured, making it end up more floral. Not overwhelmingly floral, but it’s the closest category. It’s a simple scent with body and purity, a pleasant experience of just stepping out of the shower. If you relax, you enjoy a faint violet and sweet resins that come alive after the first minute. It’s light yet substantial; an author fragrance that impresses with its perfection.

@Demopop… From the INFUSION collection, I have the discontinued classic d’Homme, Iris CÈDRE, VETIVER, and the also discontinued Iris EDP ABSOLUE. In my case, the CÈDRE is quite long-lasting and a great scent. It lacks the brightness and freshness of the HOMME due to the missing mandarin, but it doesn’t lose points. If you want more prominence from the VETIVER, I recommend that flanker; together with the bergamot, it has excellent performance without losing neatness.

My absolute staple. I started with the original and went crazy, but for me it was too feminine, so I tried this cedar version and it’s a whole other world. It has that sweet, clean effervescence that smells like a warm, comforting bath, not a shower. It’s a huge hit; everyone loves that clean scent without it being cloying. My only gripe is the longevity; it doesn’t last past 4 hours and you have to reapply several times, but it’s irresistible.

Exquisite; I think angels should smell like this. It smells crisp and clean, but the sillage is weak for an EDP, which is a shame given the price. It’s the longest-lasting evolution of the Infusion and gives me a state of happiness and joy. It smells rich, soapy, and powdery with cedar. The best of my summer collection; I recommend it before they discontinue it.

Soapy and talcum-powder scent, crisp and clean, nothing more. If you have ‘bad skin,’ it might drift away from its main scent; bad luck. Sillage and longevity are moderate, about 6-7 hours. Ideal for daytime, the office, or relaxed moments in enclosed spaces. It usually gets a lot of love because it smells like ‘just showered.’ Its older brother, the discontinued Infusion d’Homme, is better in every aspect. 🔝
