Descripción
Idôle L'Intense by Lancôme is a chypre floral fragrance for women. Launched in 2020, this composition was created by Shyamala Maisondieu, Adriana Medina-Baez, and Nadege le Garlantezec. The top notes unfold the freshness of bitter orange and mandarin; the heart reveals a harmony of Turkish rose, Grasse rose, musk, Egyptian jasmine, sambac jasmine, and jasmine; while the base notes land with the warmth of patchouli, cashmere wood, Madagascar vanilla, sandalwood, acacia, and cedar.

It reminds me tremendously of Mugler’s Angel after 6 or 7 hours on skin.
It’s not a bad perfume, but Idôle Intense hasn’t impressed me. Did it increase intensity and longevity compared to the original? Yes, but it still doesn’t project excessively or surprise. It’s pleasant for daily use, soft, and slightly sweet, without being overpowering. It projects a lot with generous application, although it lost the sparkling character of the original. On my skin, the pear (an unlisted note) stands out with a woody base. The rose is only noticeable at the beginning. Trail is soft to moderate, lasting 8-9 hours. Scent 6.5/10, longevity 7/10, trail 7/10, value for money 7/10, versatility 8/10, packaging 8.5/10. Would I buy again? I didn’t.
Tested on 03/25/21 on a humid and fresh day. I was impressed by how similar it smells to Gold Fresh Couture, but without that tart-tropical note of rhubarb and passionfruit. I’ve been testing it since it arrived in my city; although I like the regular version, it’s expensive, and I’m not sure if I’d actually wear it. The Intense version decides me more: less open, a bit sweeter, and more wintery. It briefly reminds me of Gold Fresh, but then the dry down has something balsamic, like Coco Mademoiselle Intense, with vanilla and a soft dusty touch. Very attractive. Finally, I bought it on sale: it smells ‘very Lancôme’, neat and cozy, like my mom’s perfume. It doesn’t break any rules, but it’s pleasant, well-crafted, and lasts forever.
Idôle Intense took some time to win me over. At first, I felt a very acidic orange that masked the rest, but then the magic began. However, after a few hours, it disappeared from my skin. I came back weeks later, and the regular version was what I expected: better longevity (around 7 hours) and projection. It’s sweet but soft, not invasive. Pleasant for winter or spring, during the day or for casual outings. On my skin, the mix of rose and vanilla stood out, but after two hours, I got bored. I switched. Don’t recommend buying blindly.
A lovely floral and woody scent with very sharp citrus. I don’t detect the rose, and the flowers I smell aren’t the white ones that usually give me elegance and brightness; here they feel loud and wild, even if dosed. It’s a shame because I like the aroma, but that sharp note makes me uncomfortable and doesn’t fit well. I like sharp perfumes, but in this case, it just doesn’t work.
Beautiful gift, but definitely only for cold days or fresh nights. I wore it in spring and it was a bomb; the orange and vanilla never let up. No perfume is bad, you just have to know when to wear it. I’ll wait for fall or winter to try it again. On my skin, it lasts a minimum of 8 hours.
A magical perfume, vintage yet modern. It reminds me of my beloved Amarige, perhaps due to the floral notes, though they aren’t the same. There’s something special about it. It lasts forever, and I can still smell it hours later; my nose doesn’t get used to it, which is rare for potent scents. I enjoy the vanilla, the woods, and those jasmine notes. It’s versatile for cold or warm weather, day or night. Perfect for people around 20. It’s worth it: it’s commercial, everyone likes it, and it has the right amount of sweetness that’s hard to find these days.
I love it!!! It has something that makes it very attractive. I’ve read several reviews and know that taste is subjective, plus it depends a lot on pH and how the notes present themselves. On me, it has a somewhat strong opening; I thought it would be for night or autumn, but then it drops, and a lot. Its dry-down is marvelous; it doesn’t bother me at all and is addictive—I want to smell it all the time. Where it’s not as potent, I think I can wear it during the day since I don’t consider it invasive. I perceive it as sweet and fresh; I consider it a versatile perfume.
King’s Day gift, and what better way to be enchanted. It’s a classic with a modern twist, very ‘Lancôme’: sweet roses dusted with potent jasmine that sometimes takes over. Elegant, not for every outfit. The longevity is monstrous; the trail for the first three hours is brutal, then it moderates. At first, it’s a bit overwhelming. Not for summer, even though many recommend it for night. Sometimes it reminds me of Alien due to the depth of the jasmine. 10/10.
I stick with the first version; it has a more beautiful aroma. This one is very long-lasting and has lovely roses, but on my skin, the woods suffocate everything; if I could swap it for the other, I would, even if it has less intensity and longevity.
A great success and, perhaps, better than the original. This Idole L’Intense is very similar to the original EDP: the same fresh, musky rose that smells like a fresh, luminous garden full of roses. But L’Intense removes that pear and bergamot accord and introduces bitter orange in the opening, which is quite noticeable. I like the orange in Idole more than the pear. My sister also likes it; she wears Memoire Intense by Zara every day (a very accurate dupe) but never liked Idole. Besides, the jasmine is noticeable, and the patchouli adds more strength and earthiness, making it more robust. In the dry-down, it feels like a woody, clean, and fresh scent that I like more than the more vanilla-heavy dry-down of the original. I think this version is just as versatile, if not more; I see it as perfect for a fresh autumn. Overall, Idole is an innocent and delicious perfume to wear. It dresses you up, makes you feel elegant and clean. My complaint with the original was that it didn’t last long, which is solved quite a bit with the L’Intense version, so I lean towards this. Although, if you want to smell similar and not spend much, buy the Zara dupe before it runs out, because it’s identical for a fraction of the price. Either way, I like it a lot and recommend it widely.
I liked it a lot; since scents disappear from my skin, and having recently bought the Yves Saint Laurent Intense and seen fantastic results, I assumed this would be similar in longevity and intensity. Wrong. I bought it after smelling it on skin and liking it. Once I went out and walked a few blocks, I started searching for it on my wrists, and I could smell it less and less. It’s truly exquisite, but honestly, due to my pH, it doesn’t last; it disappears. I advise those who usually experience the same thing to try it and not buy it until the next day. For safety’s sake, don’t end up like me with an equivalent to a cologne water at a price that is, quite frankly, way too expensive.
I own the original, which I didn’t like at first, but I learned to love it for its versatility and clean scent. People told me it flooded the room. On me, it’s powerful and confident. That’s why I took a risk with the Intense to replenish my original (the only one I want to repeat), but I’m not sure. The Intense has an opening and heart phase that is suffocating, cloying, and overwhelming—maybe patchouli? It reminds me of Flower by Kenzo, that heavy scent I can’t tolerate. However, in the dry-down, a fresh soft vanilla emerges, making it worth getting drunk on its opening notes.
If I hadn’t gotten the original at a good price (discounted due to expiration date), I wouldn’t have bought it; it’s too traditional for me. However, wearing it helped me get used to its noble aroma. That’s when I started trying the variants, which began to multiply. I overlooked Aura but stopped at the Intense; it really concentrates the scent and becomes much more interesting and modern than the original. It’s deep, elegant, warm, and distinguished. The jasmine is present, while the roses are more subdued by white essences; the vanilla is more gourmand than in the original, where it appears more oxidized. There’s little cedar and sandalwood. On skin, it lasts quite a while and softens with sweetness and sophistication.
An improved version of the classic. It’s intense but not overpowering. It has good sillage and lasts for hours. It gives a clean sensation, reminding me of concentrated fabric softeners with essences. To be honest, it’s pleasant but lacks the personality to stand out… or perhaps, the correct way to say it is that it has the ‘Lancôme personality.’ I bought it at a promotional price just to add to my collection. I wouldn’t pay its regular price.
It has everything I look for: sweet without being overwhelming, powdery without being excessive, fresh, and great longevity. I’m not ruling out buying Idole Perfume to alternate based on the occasion. It’s won me over and earned the right to be my signature scent 🫶🏼
I fell in love with this one. Lancôme is my favorite brand across all their lines. I ordered Idole Perfume but mistakenly received the Intense version. At first, I thought it would be hard to wear in summer due to its woody and sweet opening with mandarin and orange. On the contrary, the dry-down is exquisite—sweet but not heavy, very wearable. The wood doesn’t feel thick; it maintains its body. The combination in the dry-down leaves a soft sensation of roses, vanilla, and a beautiful, calming sandalwood. Excellent for my taste. Lasts on my skin until I shower and a bit longer. I give it 10 points all around!
I’m surprised this reminds me of Hermès’ Un Jardin Sur Le Lac, but with an added rose note. It’s an ultra-feminine, intense, and super cuddly scent.
It’s a great perfume, as I read in previous reviews, it’s sweet but not cloyingly sweet. The opening is citrus-sweet; it reminds me of a ripe orange scent, a little sweet, accompanying a cheerful rose along with the jasmine. The musk gives it a clean, crisp touch, making it very wearable despite having a sweet essence; it’s not overwhelming. It’s an aroma I loved.
With this perfume, I realized I like roses and elegant sweet roses even more. It’s a repeat purchase, something I want to keep on my vanity. I really like it.
I’ll just mention the two main differences I find compared to the original: in the opening, the citrus notes feel stronger, and in the dry-down, the vanilla is more intense, which sweetens it. In everything else, the rose and patchouli remain throughout the evolution, so in that sense, it’s the same as the original.
I like it more than the original. I was reluctant to try the Idôle flankers because the original doesn’t really appeal to me. It has the pear and rose combination that already tires me out, and it’s quite powdery, which I absolutely dislike. However, all the flankers I’ve tried so far have surprised me in a good way. Regarding the Intense, what I can say at first is that the powdery note isn’t as sharp; on the contrary, it’s super wearable. The base makes it more seductive, and the fact that they swapped pears for orange/mandarin makes the opening quite more citrusy. But not a sharp citrus; that enveloping base is always present. That said, there’s something that doesn’t fully convince me; I feel a bit generic, like something I’ve heard before. But I like it much more than the original. Something else I noticed when I’ve been smelling it for a long time is a point that reminds me of a cigarette, very subtle, but it slightly unbalances me. I suppose it has to do with the bitter orange and the base. Anyway, it’s not something you feel too much; you have to pay VERY close attention. If I have to compare it to the original, which I find hyper-generic, I’ll stick with this. It feels like an aroma perfect for a bar or a club too!
So far, I hadn’t found a single Idole flanker that I liked, let alone one that lasted at least an hour; the projection was non-existent in all cases except this one. When I had already given up on ever having an Idole in my collection, I just tested it out of curiosity on the back of my hand. I liked the opening, started paying attention to the evolution of this Intense, and realized that after the first hour, beyond evolving, the scent had an exquisite rose aroma. To be more precise, I detected Turkish rose, very sensual and refined, combined with three types of jasmine. I followed the evolution, and by the time it reached the dry-down, with the base notes giving it the body the other versions lacked, it was still there. Two hours had passed, the projection was medium and a bit more. I’m someone who uses strong fragrances, even vintage ones that almost no one uses. Thinking that it would disappear by four hours didn’t happen. It easily lasted more than 8 hours. I say this because I tested it in the afternoon/evening, and by the time I went to sleep, it passed the hand-wash test and rubbing against sheets… When I woke up, I could still smell the DNA of this fragrance right against my skin. That’s what finally convinced me to add it to my collection. What I have to admit is that the price is a bit high considering the whole line comes in 75 ml and they don’t offer any gift sets with a matching cream, or sometimes they include a small 15 ml vial like in other cases. Even so, I bought it and I really like it. I think yes, in winter it had that performance; in summer, it would surely shine even more. The truth is, they should offer the same quantity of product as the rest of the Idoles that come in 100 ml with a gift set. It’s easy to deduce why it doesn’t have 100 ml: in this case, they used a higher concentration of essential oils. The truth is, I’m a huge fan of the Lancôme brand, but it seems a bit unfair that they do things like this… Anyway, I don’t think the brand cares about my opinion on this aspect. We’ll see if, for Mother’s Day, Christmas, etc., they dignify themselves by making gift sets with this variety or at least an edition of 100 ml.
It’s rich… fresh and floral, but not that Neroli or Azhar kind of floral… You barely feel the rose. It lifts your mood. But I can’t stand the patchouli; it’s in the dry-down and lingers on clothes. Honestly, it’s an ingredient they should stop using because it’s so invasive and turns into something mature.
I love it. My first Idole was Aura; they gave it to me, and luckily it was 30 ml because I absolutely hate it. This one, however… instant love at first sniff: fresh, floral, woody, with a soapy/clean touch and very elegant. It evokes the same well-being and feelings as another one of my favorites, Allure EDP by Chanel. I’m not saying they’re the same or similar, just that they make me feel equally good. I don’t appreciate its longevity on skin as much as on clothes; when I wash them, the clothes still smell great. The only thing I don’t like is that it doesn’t come in 100 ml, because it’s not very economical. But it’s worth it; it seems to be from the Maison line 👍🏻
This fragrance is roses with very woody jasmine. When you first apply it, it smells sweet, but that sensation fades, leaving behind a beautiful floral aroma with woody notes. Now I know that if you’re looking for a woody floral perfume, Idole Intense is an excellent choice. Another hit from Lancôme that I really like.
It’s the only Idole that finally won me over. That woody base makes it perfect for autumn; it smells like blooming mandarin—sweet and floral, not fruity. The patchouli is barely noticeable once it dries, which is a shame because I adore that note, though I usually look for other scents for that. It shines more during the day, but there’s something about it that makes it versatile enough for night without being too nocturnal. I’m not sure if it’s discontinued; I just wanted to restock and it was so hard to find. Perfumeries told me they haven’t had any in a while, and on the Lancôme website, they only have the 25 ml version (at least here in Spain).
I love it, and I can’t stand the original. The original had this overpowering musk or patchouli note that I never could identify. This one, on the other hand… it’s sweet roses that aren’t cloying. You can definitely smell the jasmine, and in the end, it settles into a soapy scent with a touch of roses. 😊
The best version of all Idoles. They just had it and then discontinued it. Online it’s harder to find every day, and in physical stores it disappeared since Now arrived. My theory on why they discontinued Idole Intense is: ‘Since we didn’t pull the best flanker from the line, any subsequent launches we make won’t sell because they’ll be worse. So we pull it. We care more about making noise with new launches than keeping a good one forever. That’s how it goes, we also give work to people by creating new versions.’ Whatever, there you have it.
I love this perfume, it has everything. It’s a very feminine and elegant woody rose.
This is the first time a perfume doesn’t smell like what it says. To me, it smells like strong, unpleasant soap. In fact, I don’t like any Idole. I recommend testing before buying… try any Idole first, they’re not perfumes to buy blindly.
Don’t buy it blindly. Smells strong of rose, jasmine, and musk; on my skin, the flowers dominate, I don’t detect vanilla or wood. It ends up being creamy and soapy, not recommended for summer.
It’s true it’s hard to find, but honestly, I’m not dying to buy it again. My husband loves it when I wear it, but I find it very invasive and annoying at first. Then it softens and I like it more. Lasts forever and even smells on clothes the next day. I recommend testing it on skin before buying. I recommend it, but I wouldn’t buy it again.
I love it, lasts a long time on the skin and leaves a trail wherever you go. If you wear this, people will definitely know you were there.
What I love most about this Idole is its quality: it lasts longer and leaves a stronger trail than the others. The scent is good too, though without that sweet touch of the other ones. It’s super floral and soapy, smells like laundry detergent, with jasmine and roses dominating. It’s lovely, delicate, and clean, though the flowers sometimes sting a bit. Ideal for fresh days.
From the first moment, it smells of wood, then roses, jasmine, and musk come out. Leaves a stellar, delicate, and very elegant trail. It’s a beautiful perfume; the citrus part is balanced with patchouli thanks to the vanilla and sandalwood. I wish I could always have it; I bought the 50ml and now that I know it’s being discontinued, I’m tempted to stock up. Versatile, beautiful, you can’t ask for more.
So beautiful, it has more body than regular Idole. Feels super refined and lasts a long time on my skin. I enjoy it more on cold days.
I love it! Super versatile, perfect for summer days. Sweet but elegant, not that heavy gourmand stuff. I prefer the intense version; the regular one isn’t as great. Lasts forever, you smell like yourself and everyone around you. Note: test it first because it changes a lot and features roses and patchouli. I usually don’t like roses, but I can handle them here due to the blend. Just try it!
