  • I’m not sure if it’s my skin, but Hypnose smells like body cream with too much vanilla. It’s not sweet, but it feels overwhelming to me. I had high expectations, but I don’t sense any note other than vanilla. That said, it doesn’t smell like other perfumes. Even though it’s not to my liking, I think it could work for someone who loves creamy, enveloping scents. For its longevity and trail, I see it as ideal for cold weather. Pleasant: 4/10 Interesting: 7/10 Versatile: 6/10 Original: 8/10

  • Beautiful perfume thanks to the vanilla and passion flower. I never thought I’d like something so sweet yet elegant, without being outdated. Every time I wear it, I feel sexy and empowered. It’s excellent for winter; in enclosed spaces, with more than two sprays, you can really notice its trail.

  • As a man, I love it; it seduces me. There are fragrances that enchant both sexes. Maybe it won’t kill for a lady, but as a man, I say the dance of its notes is delicious and sexy. It hasn’t held my interest as much in recent years and deserves a second act. Although it’s not for every climate, it always has that sensuality, class, and cheekiness. 10/10.

  • I’m sorry, sweet, spicy, fruity, and floral. Ideal for a romantic dinner or a night out. It’s a mysterious and addictive scent.

Its name describes it perfectly: it’s like trying to figure someone out. At first, it seems like it’s telling you everything, but then there’s a depth that obsesses and hypnotizes you..<3

  • One of my favorite perfumes; I wear it on bad days and it relaxes me so much 💕. The vanilla is on full blast, I even use it to sleep. I can’t imagine my life without this scent. I bought a mini version a few years ago when I was 20, and today at 25, it’s still the best for me 💕.

I can’t stand this fragrance; literally gives me headaches and nausea for hours. It lasts forever on skin and clothes, which is a plus, but it’s just not worth it. I loved vanilla and thought I’d adore it, but it’s a resounding no.

  • Valeriapc

Delicious, period. ❤️❤️🥰🥰 I bought it blind and loved it from the first spray.

  • I agree that Hypnose is timeless and maintains its own identity, an essential requirement for a fragrance.

Since I first smelled it, love at first sniff, it became my personal signature: sensual, elegant, sweet yet fresh at the same time. For me, it’s the perfect combination of clean and sweet; I’ve never found anything like it. It relaxes me and makes me feel authentic.

I consider it a classic with a vanilla distinct from current trends. Personally, we just didn’t click; I remember getting huge migraines trying to get used to its aroma, all in vain, and I switched. However, it has very prolonged longevity, nice bottles, and I think those looking to step out of the gourmand vanilla or the coconut-vanilla duo should try it. It’s a distinct, non-massified, singular scent.

  • I’ve tried and worn it; it’s a classic scent, a bit stately, but it depends on who wears it. It reminds me of vintage makeup or a doll, a pretty perfume. What I notice most is a very fine powdery vanilla, making me think of a Renaissance princess. Edit: I agree, but it’s definitely not for me. After spraying it, I had a trip and the experience was unbearable: cloying, too powdery, smelled like grandma, dusty vanilla that gave me a headache. Once I got home, I just wanted to shower. I wouldn’t recommend it for someone like me who prefers fresh, clean scents.

  • Dama Incognita

Elegant and feminine fragrance, very sweet but not a gourmand where the sweetness overpowers everything like the trendy ones. The flowers are blended so well it’s hard to distinguish them, but they pair great with the vanilla, which might be the key. In the dry down, it’s powdery, sweet, and floral. Just be careful with the sprays as it can be overwhelming; it has powerful projection and long-lasting performance.

I don’t know what to make of the scent because reviews say it doesn’t smell old. I got my first bottle in 2014 at 18 and felt rich wearing it. It ran out, but since it’s Lancôme, it’s always in stores, so I’d try it from time to time. Now at 27, I bought it again. I love the opening: very sweet and sparkling, almost like a tropical fruit (which is why I don’t get the negative reviews). Yes, then the vanilla comes out, but that fruity sweetness lingers. The longevity is wonderful, and I’ve gotten many compliments. For me, it’s the best of Lancôme. P.S.: I just looked up that passionflower is the flower of the passion fruit. Now it makes sense; it basically smells like that fruit. Yum.

  • I’ve loved this for years. It lives up to its name ‘Hypnose’ because the moment you smell it, you’re hypnotized by how good it smells. It’s been my favorite since I discovered it at 18, and I’m still wearing it at 30. I like trying new things, but this is always in my closet as a signature. It has presence but remains soft and delicate. For me, it’s the perfect balance of sweet, floral, fruity, and powdery. It lasts quite a while, though I wish it lasted longer on my skin. Plus, the bottle and color are gorgeous. I’ll always have this.

  • I’ve worn this since I was 25, and now I’m 34. Every time it runs out, I buy it again. It doesn’t smell old to me; it’s sophisticated and spectacular. It has amazing sillage and longevity, I’ve received countless compliments, and nothing compares. I love it and will keep repurchasing it over and over.

Without a doubt, the most different vanilla in my entire collection. I perceive a super-sweet vanilla, like nectar, with a tropical touch. I have nothing like it; it seems very unique and original. It might be overwhelming in hot weather, but it’s great for summer nights. Perfect for the rest of the year.

  • It’s a unique scent; I haven’t felt it in any other fragrance. Since I smelled it on my skin, my nose got hooked. My daughter says it smells like medicine, but I love it; it captivates me, and every time I wear it, I’m sniffing it without stopping. Some perfumeries told me it’s discontinued; can anyone confirm if that’s true? 😞

  • Abgvanessafernandez

I loved it to death. Despite its vanilla base, it’s not heavy; it’s fresh… I could smell it all day while wearing it. Perfect for daytime. It’s not invasive and doesn’t bother others. I’d buy it a thousand times over.

  • Lady Wallis

I’m going to be ‘tough’ on this fragrance. Watch out! I like it and owned it when I was young, so there’s no doubt it smells good, sweet, and feminine, but to me, it smells like cheap perfume… it reminds me so much of those mini bottles given away at Christmas at my neighborhood pharmacy with purchases. Identical. Now, aside from that, it’s a perfume with great longevity and a sillage that, in my opinion, is excessive… if you wear it, people know and notice it immediately.

  • Sweet floral, and it doesn’t give me a headache despite its sweetness. You can detect the passion fruit at first, but after half an hour, the jasmine and gardenia take over, keeping the sweetness slightly softer with vanilla. To me, it’s an elegant feminine fragrance, far from other younger, sparkly scents. My take: an aroma for 40+ perhaps.

I was 8 when it launched, and in the Cable magazine (so vintage, wow) it came with a sample in a metal envelope with full-page ads. Does anyone remember? What times those were. I just recall the liquid was blue and the scent… I still get a faint memory of it. I haven’t smelled it again, but it was elegant and distinct. Always a little mischievous; I opened it and doused my neck completely, haha. I don’t know if anyone noticed, but it was a lovely fragrance. It’s pricey, but sometimes I crave buying it to relive that summer of 2005. I don’t remember the scent clearly, just a vague olfactory memory. If they reformulated it, I don’t think I’d notice. Almost 20 years have passed.

  • Coni Macarena Miel

It’s strange because passion fruit is my favorite, but I hate this scent. It’s not a bad perfume, but it sounds very vintage and powdery. Even though the vanilla is nice and different, it just doesn’t work for me. Plus, it gives me nausea and headaches. Everything is wrong, including the price.

  • I’d seen the bottle in ads but it never caught my eye until I tried it. It’s gorgeous. I don’t get any vanilla notes; it feels fresh and light, perfect for work. I simply love it.

  • I absolutely love it, and by God, the longevity is insane! I wore it to work early, stayed for my 8-hour shift, then went to the gym (about 10 hours later). A girl even told me, ‘I love that perfume, the longevity is incredible.’

  • Elizabethshelby

Weird, it doesn’t have declared fruits but I smell orange to me, a caramelized orange. Every nose is a different world.

  • Hypnôse is pretty, feminine, and has an original touch uncommon in the gourmand family thanks to its tropical passionflower note and the vetiver that balances the sweetness of the vanilla base. Vetiver, an Indian grass with green, wet, and smoky notes, prevents the sweet touches from being cloying. It’s ideal for autumn and winter and versatile for any time of day. Longevity and sillage are moderate on my skin, a good option for work. I don’t find it powdery or vintage as I’ve read. When the fruity opening fades, it leaves a charming blend of jasmine and vanilla. As its name suggests, it can result in a hypnotic effect at close range, something like a cold and calculated seduction.

  • Hypnose was my first designer perfume. It captivated me, although I still don’t know how to describe it. Around 2009 it evoked a bubblegum scent for me, but with many nuances, very elaborate, although I’ve never smelled bubblegum like that, it’s what comes to mind. Maybe because of its sweetness or vanilla, I don’t know. What I do know is that it’s very pretty, sweet without being cloying, vanilla-infused, slightly fresh, easy to wear, nothing loud, no vintage touches, smells like fine candy. I really like it a lot and it has good sillage and longevity; it’s one of the ones that project the most on my skin. I see it as versatile (taking care of the sprays depending on the occasion), versatile in age, timeless and easy to like (except for those who don’t like sweet scents). Now I have another bottle I rushed to get because it’s sadly discontinued. What a pity, it’s an uncommon fragrance, but I understand why they discontinued it. Generally, when you smell a perfume you think: it smells clean, fresh, like a dessert, sexy, strong… Hypnose doesn’t fit into categories. If someone asks me what it evokes, I’d say: pretty. It smells pretty, but it’s not easy to categorize, neither in notes nor in feelings, which can make it hard to use due to lack of identification. However, I think this makes it unique and worth having or knowing before it disappears. Something curious: smelling Chloé Nomade Nuit D’Egypte, its opening is very similar to Hypnose (at least for me and on blotter paper); then Chloé follows another path, but they have a slight resemblance.

  • At first I didn’t dislike it, I noticed more the combination of flowers and vanilla, but as it dries down, only that tropical touch remains, which is now the only thing I smell. No, I don’t like it; I think the passionflower isn’t for me. All the Lancôme fragrances I’ve tried have a common base note that I don’t like, I don’t know if I’ll try many more…

  • I tried it at a duty-free and loved it; my 12-hour flight lasted and the scent remained. I think it’s sexy without being annoying or bothersome. I want to buy it, I think it’s money well spent.

  • Perfumadict

Clean and soapy. I don’t feel it’s fresh, but rather floral and creamy. Very nice, timeless, for any age and occasion. To smell clean and refined without trying.

  • Estela0919

I love it, I wore it in my 20s back around 2010. But, is it going to be discontinued? It’s been hard to find in stores (I’m from Chile).

  • anamaestracorreo

Buaaaa… It’s the most unique vanilla in my collection. I don’t know why I don’t wear it more, but I hope they keep selling it. You don’t smell like a bunch of people, so if they ask, don’t say anything! I bought the bottle three years ago and it has gotten so much sweeter.

  • Yeli parfum

Passionflower to the max with a sweet and woody base… Elegant, I see it for special occasions. Super feminine.
