A symphony of green notes. Everything is green in this fragrance, from the mentholated neroli to the indolic jasmine to the galbanum. Perhaps the non-green element is that creamy/buttery touch of the neroli. The truth is, it smells very good, although it does seem short on intensity.
Gucci Bloom Aqua di Fiori retains the essence of the original, giving greater prominence to the green notes. It has a very rich scent from the start, but I find these notes so subdued that they haven’t had much longevity or sillage on my skin, with the aroma almost disappearing in two hours.
I felt like a little girl hidden among the herbs, soft and lost. A lovely scent that only I could smell from afar, friendly, playing with unisex vibes. It smells like a green shampoo that fades when a few drops of water fall on it, taking the coins away with the water. It makes me wonder: will an aroma artist and flashy campaigns be necessary to present a scent that lingers like a person who crosses your path and won’t let you take a photo or see a concert?
This fragrance is green. Although it has floral hints, they don’t dominate. I like it; it smells like wet herbs, with a fresh touch that doesn’t make it mossy, rather an aroma of fresh leaves and herbs. It’s not feminine; I’d categorize it as unisex, and yet it’s very rich. It reminds me of field days from my childhood by the river, wildflowers, and fresh herbs. It has great longevity; I’ve worn it for over ten hours and it hasn’t disappeared.
Honestly, I expected more longevity on my skin… When I applied it to my neck, I clearly smelled Estée Lauder’s Pleasures. Over time, it faded and I got the neroli notes; even though I don’t love neroli, I suppose with the rest of the aromas it doesn’t bother me, but I expected something more.
It’s quite similar to Gucci Bloom, but the galbanum opening is noticeable. Over time, it becomes very soft and its sillage isn’t as potent. It’s okay, but I expected a bit more.
It’s a humid forest after the rain, earthy, full of green leaves… Too bad the longevity is so light… On me, it barely lasted an hour on the skin. I loved it; very innovative in an era of sweet fragrances. Acqua di Fiori is a promise of new formulations, but due to the poor longevity, I wouldn’t buy it again.
Literally smells like you rubbed mint on your skin and then rolled around in the grass after the rain. I’m not a fan, but it’s definitely someone else’s dream made into a perfume. It’s super unisex and original.
It literally smells like you rubbed mint all over your body and then rolled around in the grass after the rain. I don’t personally like it, but it must be a dream made into perfume for others. It’s very unisex and original.
As a fan of fresh and green perfumes, this is one of my favorites.
As a lover of fresh and green scents, this smells like my number one perfume.
I tried it at least 3 or 4 times and this perfume still smells like grass, lawn, whatever you call it in your country… I prefer the original or the one I have, Nettare di fiori. Although if applied poorly it saturates and overwhelms, in itself, it’s incredibly rich.
I thought I wouldn’t like it after reading so many reviews about the wet grass smell, but quite the opposite, I loved it! It has a slightly sweet but very subtle opening, I find it too romantic and feminine. I didn’t smell any green at all, just felt the sweet but divine freesia. I received many compliments with this fragrance. For a romantic date, for daily wear, or a quiet daytime outing, it’s perfect.
Gucci built the Bloom collection around the four seasons, and SUMMER couldn’t be better represented. It is literally a summer garden: floral + fresh, with a certain grassy scent perceived as a barely bitter touch. Despite being an EDT, it’s complex: it has development and layers. At first, you feel the citrus touch, then the clean aroma (musk) and white flowers, and in the background, the green note appears from its blackcurrant, galbanum leaf, woody, and ozonic (Iso E Super) touches. Over time, what persists most is that floral and green touch. This second element makes it so DIFFERENT from the rest; without it, it would be a more floral and sweet perfume, but that note makes it COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. It’s ideal for warm climates day and night, and could even be used on an autumn day with sun. If you’re looking for a white floral perfume with a different twist, this is a good option.

How do you fit a pond into a bottle? With this scent… I absolutely love the feeling of sitting by a garden pond in Italy, with damp earth and marble slightly mossy from the fountain splashes, à la Villa d’Este. I vividly remember the smell of those waters: a pause in the middle of a storm, the garden soaked just before the rain starts again. I catch those first hours on this one; later it dries out a bit (laughs) and becomes more floral and green, but it still keeps that humidity I adore. I don’t feel like breaking it down into notes; I like to explore it as an olfactory sensation. I think that’s its quirk and what sets it apart. It doesn’t smell very much like the original Bloom to me. I see someone noted similarities with Un matin d’orage. The sensations might be related (they definitely are), but Matin feels more nostalgic to me. Bloom Acqua di Fiori is livelier. Despite a certain stillness, like calm waters, a peaceful, pulsing energy rises from within, almost like a siesta before getting back to work. It took me a while to connect with it; I have to find the right day and mood to wear it, but I’m finally finding its swing and it suits me so well… What a treat. It shouldn’t have been a limited edition… Big points for the box and bottle, a true gem!
How do you fit a small pond in a bottle? Well, with this perfume… I love how it makes me feel like I’m sitting by a garden pond in Italy, surrounded by damp earth and marble with a hint of mold from the fountain splashes, à la Villa d’Este in Tivoli. It reminds me of the scent atmosphere of those waters: a sense of pause in the middle of a storm, the garden soaked right before it rains again. I feel it well for the first hour or two on that path. Then it ‘dries’ a bit (laughs) and I sense it more floral and green, though it still keeps that very pleasant wet feeling. I don’t feel like dissecting it to distinguish notes; I like exploring it as an olfactory sensation much more. I think that’s its peculiarity. It doesn’t seem very similar to the original Bloom. It’s very unisex. I was looking for something more feminine. It is rich, yes, but the trail reminds me of a men’s perfume I can’t quite identify. It’s fresh… I didn’t feel the wet grass note they mention. At first, you get the musk, but what remains is a soft unisex scent. I’d give it a 6.
I bought it on recommendation and it turned out to be very good. From the Gucci Bloom Aqua di Fiore line, this is the one I like the most. It features a great jasmine aroma, it’s long-lasting on my skin, with a creamy scent. Its scent throw is beyond 1.5 meters. I like it for autumn and winter seasons; I don’t like it for warm weather. It’s a very good perfume, although it feels powdery, like all Gucci perfumes, with that underlying scent that identifies them.
From the new Bloom line, I bought Nettare di fiori as a gift and chose Acqua di Fiori for myself, using travel sizes. In terms of scent, this turned out to be the most interesting due to its uniqueness. The aroma is lovely, a herbal floral, easy to wear, slightly sweet, not overwhelming with flowers, and with a citrus touch. It’s well-balanced; the notes I noticed most were bergamot, lime, galbanum leaf, and lily. I noticed that within the Bloom family, there’s something in common: low longevity and projection. This could have been the exception by containing Iso E Super, a synthetic ingredient from Molecule01 used for fixation. It seemed interesting to try. Unfortunately, it only lasted me about 3 hours: it projected well at first, then faded until it disappeared. I don’t recommend investing in 100ml of these Gucci perfumes; the scents are good, but the projection and longevity aren’t that great. Scent 9/10, Projection 6/10, Longevity 5/10.
I have a very special affection for this perfume for three reasons, one of which is why I love it so much. First: my dad gifted it to me in 2018 when it launched. I was deeply depressed and starting a job I didn’t like. When we smelled it in the store, my dad said, ‘I like this; it smells like flowers from the cemetery.’ On my skin, I distinctly felt the aquatic note, though not fresh, and it reminded me of marigolds on November 2nd and all the surrounding fuss. It was my first great designer perfume. Second: it was stolen from me on a trip with my friends in 2019. They broke into our car trunk and took everything, including our suitcases, on the last day. But during that weekend away, I wore the perfume, which was my signature at the time. Although it didn’t last long, the floral notes of neroli instantly lifted my mood. When I got home, suitcaseless and with nothing else, the only thing left of its memory was the box. Third: I found it again through a wonderful swap. In 2022, with a solid collection, a more experienced nose, and active in several communities, I found this perfume in tester format that I could swap for others. When it arrived home, it was just a matter of taking out the box I’d kept for three years and placing the bottle back in its spot. A full circle. The perfume itself is precious. Green, almost vegetal, crisp. White flowers soaked by rain, petrichor, running water. It’s clean, airy, and slightly sweet. It projects spectacularly for the first hour before settling on the skin for the 3 to 4 hours it lasts. On clothes, it lasts longer, almost 7 hours. Perfect for a sunny day, for spring and summer. Although it doesn’t last long, I love this perfume so much for the memories and the synchronicities. (By the way, this is review #100,000 on the page 😉)

I took the box out of storage after three years and put it back in its place. A full circle. The perfume is gorgeous: green, almost vegetal, crisp. White flowers soaked by rain, petrichor, running water. It’s clean, airy, slightly sweet. It projects great for the first hour, then settles on the skin for 3 or 4 hours. Out of my entire collection, this is the rarest and most peculiar, without comparison. It’s a refreshing scent, slightly sweet but not cloying, herbal like freshly mowed grass with a touch of sweetness and powder. I never thought I’d like it so much. The only downside is longevity; I wish it lasted longer. It’s not worth buying in 100ml unless it completely wins you over, but I have no regrets owning it. I enjoy it a lot on hot, dry days to cool down. Ideal for spring and summer.
Acqua di Fiori is a perfume that either makes you fall in love or drives you crazy. It has a unique essence, almost like the tingle of pink pepper at first. It reminds me a lot of Petals from Mercadona, an extract that smells just as exquisite. It’s my favorite for winter: it doesn’t trail unless you get close, making it perfect for special occasions. If you want everyone asking what you’re wearing, forget this one.
