Pure White Linen by Estée Lauder is an aldehydic floral fragrance for women. Launched in 2006, this composition was created by Sophie Labbé and Yves Cassar. It smells clean. I tried a sample once and it made me want more.
Wow, upon smelling it, I thought it would have musk, but it doesn’t… On my skin, the florals really stand out; I barely notice the pear or freesia. Still, I love that clean, powdery citrus scent—pure and luminous. I’d wear it daily, in winter as much as summer, without being intrusive. A perfume I’ll definitely add to my collection.
PURETY AND ELEGANCE They say it lifts the mood and renews the spirit, and they’re right: the tulip gives strength and the apple confidence. All its fresh ingredients have therapeutic properties. It’s the third formulation of this type from Estée Lauder, with over 15 noticeable ingredients that are timeless. Light white florals, fresh tulips, pear, and grapefruit dominate, evoking an idyllic summer. It smells like clean sheets and fresh air, with a pure, fruity sweetness, like biting into a juicy pear. Balanced, refined, and not overpowering, yet with great longevity. Ideal for formal spring and summer events, creating a fresh but sophisticated aura. While Pleasures is romantic and Happy is urban, Pure White Linen is simple, elegant, and beautiful. USE: spring-summer, sunny and humid weather, daytime, daily and special occasions, formal to smart casual, indoor and outdoor.
Pure White Linen is pure self-care: its flowers feel alive, nothing synthetic, offering that purity its name promises. Imagine freshly washed sheets over a garden soaked by rain with soft blooms. The best part is its durability, which is spectacular; it lingers for hours right on the skin. It’s a great choice for a tender, wet floral fragrance with personality, without being generic. Another gem from Estée Lauder that surprises me again after years. Charming for any season, I’m fully convinced to buy it.
If you’re looking for something sexy and overly sweet, run away. This is the delicate, clean floral I’ve been searching for years. It smells like real flowers with a juicy, green fruity touch. While most florals fade quickly, this lasts hours on my skin, leaving a crisp and pleasant trail. No one else wears it, so it’s truly unique. I can’t wait to wear it to work this spring.
It’s a work of art, my signature scent. Powerful, clean, and floral, with an elegance that captivates. Just one drop is enough to enjoy this long-lasting beauty.
Fresh and clean with absolute longevity. In my case, I have to be careful with the amount because at night it wakes me up and keeps me awake. I prefer it in spring or summer in Canada; in tropical climates, the gardenia note comes out a bit, which isn’t my thing. It’s one of my favorites, along with Gucci Bloom. They are two distinct but connected fragrances, perhaps because of those white flowers.
After trying a sample years ago, I already own it. It’s maximum purity, soapy, like that comforting smell after a shower. It evokes a green meadow, the first rays of spring sun, tulips… It’s very pleasant, nothing cloying or intrusive. It’s not a very common scent and wears well on the skin. I recommend it for those over 35 (I’m heading toward 39). In my opinion, it’s not youthful or sexy; it smells like mom, a warm hug scent that gets engraved in memory.
I bought it blindly online after reading good reviews; I’m a fan of fresh and clean scents (though this isn’t citrusy). At first, it smells strong, almost too much for someone older, but then it becomes precious: clean, floral, and without sweetness. When applied, it reminds me a lot of Pleasures, but it’s less shy, more striking, and sophisticated. The sillage and longevity are excellent.
Exquisite and elegant, with a fresh touch. What a pity it’s not available here in Chile either.
Uffff, the famous Pure White Linen. We struggled to sell it here in Chile; they set us high targets and incentives, but it was hard to move. I’m talking about over 10 years ago (2007-2009) when I worked at LAUDER. I’m surprised to read such lovely reviews; maybe times have changed and now PWL is recognized as a beautiful fragrance. Back then, the boom of flashy gourmands from famous brands was just starting; I think now, when everyone is looking to return to simplicity and purity, this perfume fits better. I agree: it’s pure, smells clean, like a beautiful day in the countryside near the sea, a sophisticated blend. If Pleasures evokes tenderness and crystal-clear romance, PWL is sophistication and freedom with class and refinement. A fruity floral that doesn’t bother, very versatile. You can feel the finesse of the ingredients; it’s very balanced. What a pity it’s no longer sold in Chile, but believe me, we had a huge overstock, haha. If you want a flagship of cleanliness, finesse, and versatility, grab it if you see it. It’s a beautiful fragrance (its flankers Light Breeze and Pink Coral were also excellent options).
It’s a 10 for me, but I haven’t been able to find it in Chile… snif snif
I got it through a swap a few days ago, and I rate it as ‘beautiful’❤️. The floral combination is stunning🌸🌺🌷💐. It’s a fresh/sweet floral (I’m not sure if it’s without the neroli and tulips that give a sweet touch, or if it’s the sweet pear note that wraps the flowers and lingers on my skin, but I love it😍). It feels timeless, but I’d avoid using it in very hot summers or very cold winters; it’s best for spring and warm autumn days.
A exquisite scent that I believe is already discontinued. But I found its replacement at Tous Tous, the one with the silver cap; in my opinion, it’s identical.
I got this in a trade a few days ago and it’s gorgeous ❤️. The floral blend is on another level 🌸🌺🌷💐. It’s fresh and sweet; I’m not sure if the floral note disappears without the neroli and tulips, or if it’s the lingering sweet pear that clings to the skin, but I absolutely love it 😍. It’s timeless, though I avoid wearing it in scorching summers or freezing winters; better suited for spring and warm autumn days.
I just picked up PWL for the bottle and the hype, promising cleanliness and tidiness. Turns out, fresh, ethereal, and delicate scents are my weakness; the ‘clean’ vibes are just uuuuuuuffff amazing. I’m not a huge fan of super-sweet or heavy perfumes, though there are delicious exceptions. So when I tried PWL, I was sold… it’s simply perfect. It smells clean, fresh, subtle, delicate, and striking; it leaves me relaxed and comfortable. The opening is a bit potent, but as it dries down, it becomes soft, delicate, subtle, and tender. Smells like clean sheets, freshly bathed, a gentle breeze surrounded by flowers and herbs with dew on a fresh morning. I can’t explain it, I just know it’s beautiful, a world away from heavy gourmands. Pure White Linen is calm and perfection for the senses. Rating: 10/10
I recently bought PWL for the bottle and the reviews about cleanliness and neatness. Turns out, fresh and delicate scents are my weakness. I’m not a fan of super-sweet perfumes, so when I tried PWL, I was skeptical… it’s perfect! It smells clean, fresh, subtle, and striking at the same time; it relaxes me. The opening is potent, but as it dries down, it becomes soft and tender. Smells like clean sheets, just showered, a gentle breeze surrounded by flowers and dewy herbs. I can’t explain it, I just know it’s beautiful. A whole other world from heavy gourmand perfumes; Pure White Linen is calm and perfection. 10/10.
On my skin, it explodes with tangerine peel and green apple before sliding into white florals, highlighting honeysuckle and freesia. The projection is soft. The name fits perfectly: it’s super clean and feminine, ideal for warm climates. It reminds me of an extra-feminine version of Light Blue, with the same spirit but PWL amplifies the florals instead of the woods. I’d love it more if it weren’t so sweet and lasted longer than an hour. Pleasant: 7/10 Interesting: 3/10 Versatile: 6/10 Original: 3/10
