It works really well. It takes elements from the regular Bloom, all the white flower theme, and a soft powdery orris base. At times, I catch a hint of that rose and patchouli blend from Nettare, reminding me of Narciso For Her, but in a smaller dose. Here, the rose takes the lead. Everything is super soft and projects little, which is standard for Morillas. Creamy orris notes tire me out a bit, but you can’t deny the quality. As usual, don’t expect great projection. If you want to stand out, these aren’t for you. I haven’t tested it much or used many sprays; maybe someone could spray 15 times and change their mind entirely, but this is my experience.
It has a subtle sweetness from the orris that wraps around the rose and jasmine. I didn’t like the opening at all, but the drydown is fantastic. The longevity is very poor on my skin, less than 5 hours.
Explosion of orris, intense and overwhelming. The opening is a roar of white flowers. The floral heart is excessive, like a strong drink. The drydown is more tense, a calm floral but with a sharp, piercing edge. It has so much potency that it doesn’t last long, which isn’t strange these days. I prefer the Bloom, with better balance and harmony.
Orris is complicated for some people, and I also get headaches with florals. I tried this by accident and was ready to pass out, but nothing happened. The scent is rich, the jasmine is wonderful. The opening is weird, like freshly cut green rose stems—herbal and creamy, with all the flowers mixed together like a huge white bouquet with stems and buds about to bloom. I bought the 100ml version and I love it. Finally, I have a Gucci Bloom without dying of a headache.
I absolutely love jasmine and orris, but with the original Bloom, it was always a love-hate relationship; some days it felt too sharp. With Ambrosia, it’s the perfect balance… it smells creamier, subtler, and happier. It has the DNA of the original but updated—a total hit. It’s a definite yes for me.
I tried it in-store and went crazy; it came as a free gift with my Gucci Flora and I was super happy. But at home, after a while, it started giving me a serious case of the sniffles—it was quite gross. It’s pure floral, like walking around with flowers on you; it’s not creamy, not intense, and lacks any nuance. The opening smells like a closed room packed with jasmine and honeysuckle, heavy and annoying. Then it softens a bit, but on my skin, the blend of orris with those white flowers takes over, not the orris alone. In the end, it becomes more bearable. At first, I thought those orris notes were gorgeous—my favorite—but then I noticed they’re raw and get hidden behind the rest. I don’t hate it, but I just don’t feel comfortable wearing it.
