  Starting from the classic oud and rose combo we know from Mancera and Montale, this is definitely an adaptation. Gold Aoud takes a different direction with an amber and sweet touch; there’s a brief citrus burst at the start, but overall it shifts the medicinal interpretation of its oud into a sweeter, floral version. I’d say it’s the equivalent of MFK’s Oud Satin Mood, but made by Mancera. Performance exceeds 12 hours. Totally unisex, perfect for fall/winter. P.S.: I wouldn’t buy it since other oud/rose combos already cover that ground. It’s not innovative enough. That said, it’s niche-quality, has spectacular performance, and smells pleasant to those not used to oud.

  It’s a very good fragrance, but I’d lean more toward the Aoud Line I already own. It’s much richer and more potent. I think adding the Gold Aoud would be redundant. It bears no resemblance or similarity to Mancera Black Prestige, nor does it remind me of the special edition of D&G The One.

  To be completely honest, it smells like the luxury hotel bathroom air fresheners I’ve encountered; I almost bought it blindly, but that synthetic, citrusy opening reminds me of a first-class public restroom, and that’s exactly what I don’t like.
