For me, and I stress, for ME it’s a resounding NO, in fact, I’ve never had such a negative reaction to a perfume. After this experience, it’s clearer to me than ever that each person is different and tastes vary. The way each individual perceives their surroundings is unique, even sensorially speaking, so I warn again that this has been MY personal experience with the fragrance. I bought this perfume blindly because of the positive feedback I’d received from people I know and because of the huge hype it has on YouTube. I was looking for a pleasant and cheap perfume to use now in the fall, since I’m studying for a civil service exam and it doesn’t make sense to waste a Chanel to spend the day studying at home. This perfume seemed to have it all: great longevity, sillage and most importantly: a really affordable price. I don’t know if it smells similar or not to This is Her, because I haven’t had the chance to try it. But if it’s identical as many people seem to say, here are my two statements: absolute repulsion toward the Zadig&Voltaire creation and toward this Zara perfume. I imagined it would be a sweet little cozy perfume, to really enjoy on these days when it starts to get cold. I found a rancid, aged smell, a rough sweetness mixed with cigarette butts put out with water. I find it terribly annoying. I picture Miss Umbridge wearing this perfume, an intrusive scent that makes me nauseous. Snobby and overpowering to the extreme. Maybe I’m too much of a fruity-floral lover and too basic about perfumes to appreciate this supposed masterpiece, but I can’t stand it. It doesn’t seem like a safe blind buy at all and from here I want to warn those who like sweet/oriental/gourmand like me that if you can, try it in store before buying it. As things are, now is not the time to throw 15 euros in the trash.

It smells exactly the same as This is Her by Zadig & Voltaire. This is a fragrance I hadn’t bought because I find it so distinctive that it’s on the edge between liking it and not liking it but that I curiously find strangely addictive. After checking that this Zara perfume smelled exactly the same and had excellent longevity (about 8 hours on my skin) I decided to buy it since it’s in a much more affordable price range. To me it smells very special, nocturnal. After the very slight first somewhat floral and very nice moment of the opening, chestnut and whipped cream remain with a markedly… burnt? aroma which is what I find addictive but stays on the edge of dislike (the same thing that happens to me with By the Fireplace by Maison Margiela). Sandalwood appears in the background. Great value for money if you like the scent. In my case it deserved to be in my collection at least for how interesting it is to my nose. We’ll see how our relationship evolves but it’s a scent that will always remain in my olfactory memory. EDIT: Over time this perfume and I have fallen in love and now its warm, smoky and sweet scent seems essential in my collection to wear in fall-winter. When I found out this Zara version smells the same and lasts forever (about 8 hours on my skin), I decided to buy it for the price. It smells very special and nocturnal to me. After the initial floral and rich opening, the chestnut and whipped cream notes remain with a burnt touch that has me addicted but is right on the edge of disgust (just like with Maison Margiela’s By The Fireplace). Sandalwood comes through in the base. The quality-to-price ratio is brutal if you like the scent. It deserves a spot in my collection because it’s so interesting to my nose. EDIT: Over time, this perfume and I have fallen in love, and now its warm, smoky, and sweet scent is a must-have for autumn-winter. I find it very masculine despite its sweetness. I would consider it unisex. I detect a burnt tobacco-like scent that I can’t stand. Edit… I can’t stop thinking about it. I’ll give it another chance as soon as the quarantine is over. Edit 2020: I already bought it, and I don’t find at all the ashtray scent I detected when I first tried it. I don’t know if they changed the formula (I have the 2020 bottle) but it smells sweet to me, like chestnuts, with a spiciness… which I think comes from the sandalwood, which I think they toned down A LOT in the new version. I remember when I tried it it had a spiciness that felt very strong to me. Now I perceive it as light. Extremely delicious. It still seems unisex to me though no longer masculine-masculine. Simply unisex. I love that it’s a rare scent to come across.

I bought it because they said it smells exactly like Zadig & Voltaire’s This Is Her, and honestly, they’re 98% identical. On the Zara version (even though it’s not listed in the notes), I detect a sharp, acidic citrus note when it dries down that I absolutely hate, which doesn’t happen with the original. That’s why I got rid of the Zara bottle. The longevity is insane for just €16; it lasts on my skin for about 8 hours. I recommend trying it and comparing it before spending money, because even though it’s a dupe, it’s not 100% identical, and that acidic note might turn you off.

I bought it because I’d heard it smelled just like This is her by Zadig & Voltaire, and it’s true they’re 98% identical. In Zara’s (although it doesn’t show in its notes) I smell citrus notes in the drydown, I find it a bit acidic which I really dislike. You don’t get those in This is her and that’s why I got rid of it. As for longevity, it’s very good for a 16€ perfume, lasting on my skin for about 8 hours. I recommend you try it and compare before buying because it is a dupe, but as usual, they’re not 100% identical and that acidic odor might bother you.

It opens with milk caramel and vanilla, then some chestnut notes come out and it dries down on skin with woody notes. It’s sweet, sweet, sweet that it can become cloying, it’s not a fragrance to blind buy. But its performance and longevity are those of a much more expensive fragrance. It easily lasts 12 hours with sillage for the first 8. It’s been without a doubt one of my best Zara purchases.

My first Zara perfume, it surprised me so much that a few days after getting it I got a backup! I love the price-quality ratio, it lasts well and projects moderately. The scent is basically a smoky praline, it reminds me of Nina’s praline (the little apple) but without the fruity and citrusy part. I’ll keep trying Zara perfumes. Edit: I hate it haha it ended up cloying me and I completely dislike it now.

I’d say it improves after a few hours—the spices fade and it becomes sweet, like a cake or cookie, not fairground candy. It’s the tonka bean doing that. Honestly, it gets much better and lasts a long time on the skin. I’m not sure about the projection since no one mentions it and I haven’t noticed anything unless someone smells my arm, but the longevity is good at least up close.

I hate this perfume on my skin. It opens with super sweet praline and caramel notes, but then it turns into a sour, slightly citrusy, burnt scent. I really disliked how it wore on me, so I gave it to a friend who likes it and on whom it suits better than on me. A shame because I remembered liking This is Her! 🙁
