A name that sounds like an elf city from Lord of the Rings but actually means ‘Dew of Essaouira,’ a coastal city in Morocco. It reminds me a lot of L’eau d’Issey and has little bits of Creed’s Millesime Imperial (maybe due to the salty touch). It’s fresh, aquatic, salty, spicy, and has a slight musk. I see it as perfect for tropical and hot climates. Highly recommended!
Another aquatic aromatic fragrance that came in the brand’s free samples. At first, sea water with spices and balsamic touches. After three hours, it’s still the same. After seven hours, I start noticing the sandalwood. By twelve hours, it’s sandalwood and musk. The trail was moderate and lasted 12 hours on me, using almost the entire sample. It suits me more for summer or spring, during the day, though it holds up at night thanks to the spices and sandalwood. It’s more interesting than marine fougères, but it didn’t excite me too much, haha.
Bought a decant looking for something like Kenzo EDTI without the olfactory fatigue, and yes, it has that vibe but with more seriousness and realism. I’ve never smelled so much spice; it leaves me torn: on one hand, the cumin smells like animal sweat, on the other, like Oriental cuisine. The marine notes (soapy and clean) create a great contrast. I imagine a desert by the sea, but I struggle to separate it from the sweat smell (and it’s alien, because my own doesn’t smell like that). The drydown is lovely: the spices fade, sandalwood emerges, and the marine notes gain a dry, earthy accent. The experience is grand, but I’m still not sure to wear it; the fear is that people will mistake me for someone dirty. I don’t know if it will project heavy cumin or the beautiful base. I’ll give it more thought; it’s a love-hate relationship, a challenging scent that will eventually grow on me.
