  Montale is usually opulent and even extravagant, so I wasn’t expecting anything so pure and direct. Fantastic Basilic is exactly that: a minimalist masterpiece. I’d been searching for a long time for a perfume that truly captures the basil note—not as an accessory, but as the star—and I ran straight into it. The opening is impressive: a basil so real it feels like you’re rubbing the plant between your fingers. Right there, the frangipani appears, adding a delicate sweetness and a creamy body that makes it more sophisticated than you’d expect. Interestingly, the other listed notes go almost unnoticed, but in this case, I don’t miss them. The magic lies in this concentrated simplicity: a scent that fills the air naturally, without shouting or artifice, just like the smell of the plant under the sun. Plus, it layers beautifully. I tried it with a few spritzes of yuzu on top, and it transformed into a fresher, cheerier salad, perfect for summer. – Projection: Moderate. It’s noticeable without being overwhelming for the first hour, then stays close to the skin. – Longevity: Moderate. Around 4-6 hours on my skin. A hymn to naturalness and a reminder that sometimes, less is more.
