I only have a decant, and on the first day I wore it, I got a compliment—can’t that go wrong? Extremely sweet and incredibly long-lasting. Its trail is huge too. It’s an absolute delight!
It’s like a little piece of heaven in a gorgeous bottle, awakening the feminine craving. A magnificent gourmand, nothing invasive, not too sweet, flat, or artificial. Delicious and super easy to wear. The projection and longevity are quite good. It draws people in, giving the impression that you radiate natural sweetness, not because of the perfume. Highly recommended, an absolute must-have.
What delicious alcoholic chocolate I smell here; the note is so natural, like being inside a fine chocolate shop. In Coquin Gourmand, you get dark chocolate, nothing creamy but rather alcoholic, with soft vanilla and a hint of pink pepper in the background. I promise the chocolate scent is a delight; it makes me crazy to go out and buy chocolate to calm the craving it awakens. After 10 minutes, I start smelling the rose, which I thought wouldn’t come out on my skin. This perfume is wonderfully beautiful; one of the best things is perceiving its notes so naturally that they seem not just to be smelled, but tasted and touched. Coquin Gourmand is gorgeous, very gourmand but with a very soft, subtle sweet touch. It seems perfect for cold days or a date; surely when they smell like this, they’ll want to take a bite.
What delicious boozy chocolate I smell here; the note is extremely natural, it’s like being inside a very fine chocolate shop. In Gourmand Coquin you perceive a dark chocolate, nothing creamy, boozy, with a soft vanilla and a very subtle pink pepper in the background. I promise that the chocolate scent is a delight; I’m crazy about going out right now to find chocolate to calm the craving it has awakened. 10 minutes have passed and I start smelling the rose, which I thought wouldn’t appear on my skin. This perfume is wonderfully beautiful; one of the best things about smelling a perfume is perceiving its notes so naturally that it seems you don’t just smell them, but taste and touch them. Gourmand Coquin is precious, very gourmand, but its sweet touch is very soft, very subtle. It seems perfect for cold days or a date; surely when they smell like this they’ll want to give us a bite.
I had this perfume so idolized… It was my personal unicorn, the one I was dying to try. Well, I didn’t like it too much. It has something in the opening that I don’t like, I think it’s the mix of spices and rum. As minutes pass, it improves, that high-quality dark chocolate appears, a fine chocolate. A chocolateed rose stands out, soft with a very subtle and vanilla sweetness. I don’t perceive the pepper. I think if you’re a lover of chocolate and rose perfumes, this could be yours. For now, I’m not buying it. I understand those who love it because it’s of exceptional quality, but it hasn’t conquered me.
I had this perfume so idolized… it was my personal unicorn!!! The perfume I was dying to try… well, I didn’t like it too much. It has something in its opening that I don’t like; I think it’s the mix of spices and rum. As minutes pass, it gets better… that high-quality dark chocolate appears, a fine chocolate. A chocolateed rose stands out, soft with a very subtle and vanilla sweetness. On the other hand, I don’t perceive the pepper. Edit: The one who has a mouth is wrong. After trying it alone, I have to swallow my words. I still think I don’t like the opening, but the dry-down is so incredibly good that it has won me over. It’s like meeting someone you’re not passionate about at first but who conquers you when you talk to them. I had such high expectations that smelling it wasn’t what I expected… but you have to admit it’s a proper perfume bomb. The most elegant and refined cocoa perfume I’ve tried. I’ll have to save up to get it hahaha.
This one is going to flop this year, for sure. I got a sample with another purchase and my god: so natural, feminine, sweet, coquettish… You don’t expect that final combination when the initial sting disappears (which apparently my unsophisticated nose never quite fits). I explain myself terribly, but it’s a perfume worth noting. To understand it, just read VainillaDulce, Lito, etc. Delicious.
An elaborate and high-quality gourmand perfume, highlighting vanilla and chocolate accords. It has a slight ‘drunk’ rum note and something ‘peppery-spicy’ pink pepper. It gives a sweet and enigmatic vibe, as the Guerlain girls said. It’s not an exaggerated gourmand that smells like real food, but an artistic representation of the notes, especially vanilla and chocolate. The performance is excellent, outstanding, like other heavier Guerlain deals I’ve tried (Tonka Imperial and Spiriteuse Double Vanille). It has red wine and vanilla; simply one of the best gourmand perfumes I’ve tried.
My little treasure in my collection. I’m not saying this because of the price (which is also 🔥), but because of its wonderful aroma. Gourmand Coquin comes out strident: sugared dark chocolate, spiced, with a well-marked rum. After a few minutes, the magic begins. In the dry-down, the rum is hard to perceive; I think it’s not as evident as at first. The heart is an intense milk chocolate, in the style of Valor, with soft spices (certainly cinnamon, maybe pepper, though not much), slightly powdery, not dusty, more with the smoky aroma of tea. I suppose the vanilla makes me see it as milk chocolate instead of dark, so it has great prominence. It seems simple and at first I thought it wasn’t original, but I haven’t heard anything like it. That’s its magic: a friendly scent, for many tastes (I’d say more feminine, but who cares), and above all different: no dupes or clones. Choco Musk by Al Rehab has a vibe with that powdery and vanilla character, but this one is sweeter and has more nuances. If you try hard, you can smell the rose, which makes it more sophisticated. Yes, Gourmand Coquin is surprisingly sophisticated. I see it as sensual (more than sexy), romantic, appetizing; the perfume I’d wear on Christmas to dinner with my partner and family (in-laws included, to make a good impression 🙃), made for cold, cozy, and tender weather. This is where it differs from Choco Musk. Chocolate Greedy by Montale isn’t even comparable; while its opening pleases me (edible powdered chocolate, pleasant, informal), its dry-down on me is horrible, almost vomit-inducing. Still, Montale lacks the sophistication of Guerlain. The sillage is moderate, noticeable but not invasive. I wouldn’t mind if it were wider, although that’s also part of elegance. The longevity decided me to buy it: much better than the projection, on my skin it lasts more than 8 hours. The presentation is perfect, cared for down to the smallest detail: sober, refined bottle with height, and it’s funny that the name is on the side. I imagine a young girl, elegant, with an attractive personality and interesting tastes, a bit shy, cheerful, educated, and with character. In short, Gourmand Coquin is a masterpiece by the French house, a complex fragrance that’s easy to buy blind (I’d more recommend trying it first given the price). I absolutely adore it! P.S.: In Madrid, you can find it at El Corte Inglés on Serrano and Castellana, only in 75 ml 😉
My little treasure in my collection. And I’m not saying that just because of the price (which is also tempting 🥵), but because of its wonderful aroma. Gourmand Coquin has a striking opening with sugared dark chocolate, spiced, and a well-marked rum. After a few minutes, the magic begins. I find it hard to perceive the rum in its dry-down; I think it’s not as evident as at first. The heart is an intense milk chocolate, Valor style, with soft spices (certainly cinnamon, perhaps barely perceptible pepper), slightly powdery, not dusty, but with an aroma that leaves a smoky result from its tea note. I suppose it’s the vanilla that makes me think of milk chocolate instead of dark, so it also has a major role on my skin. It seems simple, and to my nose, it felt like it wasn’t original the first time I tried it. However, I haven’t smelled anything like it. I think that’s its magic; it’s a friendly scent, to the taste of many (more feminine, I’d say, but who cares), and above all, different: no dupes or clones. Choco Musk by Al Rehab might have an air of Gourmand Coquin due to that elegantly powdery character of a vanilla chocolate, but the latter is much sweeter and, from my point of view, has more nuances. If you try hard to find them, you might sense the rose, which makes it even more sophisticated. And yes, Gourmand Coquin is surprisingly sophisticated. I consider it sensual (more sensual than sexy), romantic, appetizing—the perfume I’d wear for Christmas dinner with my partner and their family if I had it (including in-laws to make a good impression 🙃), because besides being made for cold weather without a doubt, it also has a cozy point… and, of course, tender, charming. In this, it differs radically from Choco Musk. Chocolate Greedy by Montale isn’t even comparable to GC since, although its opening pleases me as an edible powdered chocolate, pleasant and very informal… its dry-down on me is horrible, almost vomit-inducing. Still, Montale lacks the sophistication of Guerlain’s. As for its trail, it’s moderate, noticeable but not invasive at all. I wouldn’t mind if it were wider, although that’s also part of the perfume’s elegance. Its longevity is what convinced me to buy it. Quite better than its projection; on my skin, it can last more than 8 hours. Its presentation seems simply perfect. Attention to the smallest detail; the bottle is sober, refined, tall, and I even find it funny that the name is on the side. I imagine carrying it for a young-spirited girl, elegant, with an attractive personality and very interesting tastes, a bit shy, cheerful, educated, and at the same time, with character. In short, Gourmand Coquin is a masterpiece by the French house, a complex fragrance that is easy to buy blind (I’d still recommend trying it first due to its high price). I just adore it! P.S.: In Madrid, you can find it at El Corte Inglés on Serrano and Castellana only in 75 ml format 😉
A bit disappointed. It’s a favorite of a friend and I asked for a sample. I expected a gourmand bomb, but on my skin it’s dominated by dark chocolate, cocoa, and vanilla, without being sweet. I see it as a spiced oriental scent with sweet touches, not a bomb. The sillage is very low; I have to press my nose against my wrist to remember I wore perfume. The longevity is good, about 5 hours, but for the price it had before being discontinued, it’s not worth it. Lately, chocolate perfumes have been disappointing me.
A unisex scent where the chocolate smells super natural, nothing artificial. It has a sweet rum note but it’s not overpowering. It’s a nice perfume to wear, without being excessively strong.
Not for me. It doesn’t sound elegant or pleasant to me. The cocoa smells flat, neither sweet nor deep, and after hours it reminds me of Zoologist’s Moth, a bit rancid and cheesy.
Smells like a chocolate cake that’s had a couple of drinks and started doing the worm. It’s so real it made me hungry.
