  • Good fragrance from Zara. Imagine a Haltane by PDM (the DNA of Oud for Greatness) with a touch of citrus on top. That’s what it smells like. The opening is different; you can detect the cardamom, and it settles into the drydown described earlier. Performance is solid for a Zara scent.

  • My experience was putting it on my skin, walking around the store, and heading to the mall bathroom to wash my hands. It smelled terrible to me.

  • My experience was applying it to my skin, continuing to walk around the store, and then heading to the mall bathroom to wash my hands. It smelled terrible.

  • I’ve tried it several times and still hesitate to buy it. At first, those first 20 minutes, it smells way too aggressive: citrus, cardamom, and an oud that’s scary, bordering on unpleasant. Only expert noses can handle this original blend; I find it unbalanced. But by an hour it tames down, softens, the oud recedes, and vanilla takes over, turning creamy, woody, and mysterious. I’m not sure if I’ll keep it, but you have to applaud Zara’s audacity for stepping into niche territory. I’ve never smelled anything like this in clothing stores.

  • A characterful and quite long-lasting Zara perfume. I sprayed it at 7 PM in the store and could still smell it on my arm the next morning. It reminds me of Gucci Guilty Absolute, which I also own, but here the leather isn’t as present; it’s sweeter and more wearable. I recommend not buying blindly; it’s not for everyone.

  • Although I won’t admit it, this smells unequivocally of cypress, because ‘Elevated Oud’ is very similar to a Morillas masterpiece: Gucci Guilty Absolute. Leather, cypress, citrus, and woods. Compared to the Gucci, the power is much lower and it sweetens at the end. It lasts about 7 hours, projecting in the first two. If the Gucci is restrictive, this expands usage exponentially, serving many scenarios, better in fresh settings. P.S.: It’s already out of stock online since launch. Don’t buy blindly; many people might not like it. Test it in-store first.

  • Zara’s best perfume. Prominent oud opening; the heart and drydown remind me a lot of Haltane. Great performance, an absolute gem for the price.

  • Maybe my shortest review to describe this fragrance. Take Gucci Guilty Absolute and Bulgari Terre d’Hermès, and right in the middle is this Elevated Oud, sharing sensations from both upon application, by the same perfumer, Mr. Morillas. Longevity will be one of Zara’s best, and the first hour is quite lively. If you like the previous ones, you’ll love this; I absolutely loved it!!!

The opening green lemon is a harsh acid—ouch! How did Morillas sign off on this? It makes Club de Nuit Intense look refined. It smells like my failed lime oil experiment (in Mexico we call everything ‘lemon,’ even beer 😅): I took Gucci Guilty Absolute and added that oil. The result is this, signed by the king of citrus, Beto Morillas 🙄. It didn’t work for me; that sharp lemon lasts an hour. Then it dries gracefully, revealing a niche spiced bitterness, like saffron, before sweetening until the shrill lemon fades. Wait for a price drop; in three or four months it’ll be 50% off 😉. Excellent longevity and projection, no complaints.

A challenging fragrance, classy, sweet but not cloying, ideal for semi-formal evening events. A great alternative from Zara that follows a different path than what we’ve come to expect. Big shoutout to Alberto Morillas.

  • A characterful and very long-lasting Zara perfume. I put it on at 7 PM in the store and the next day I could still smell it on my arm. It reminds me of Gucci Guilty Absolute, which I also own, but here the leather is less present, it’s sweeter and more wearable. I recommend not buying blindly; it’s not for everyone.

  • I tested it several times in-store and I’m still undecided. In the first 20 minutes, it seems too bold: citrus and cardamom with an overwhelming oud that feels harsh and borders on unpleasant to my nose. Only experienced noses will appreciate this original blend of spiced citrus and animalic oud; I just perceive something challenging and unbalanced. After nearly an hour, it tames down, becomes pleasant, and starts to grow on me. It sweetens, the oud recedes, and vanilla takes the lead, turning creamy, woody, mysterious, and seductive. I’m not sure if I’ll buy it, but I appreciate Zara’s audacity to venture into almost-niche territory. I’ve never smelled anything like this in other stores’ sales.

  • Good value for money. Firmenich takes the Guilty Absolute accord and adds a gourmand sweetness, similar to No Limits or Black Tie. It has more nuances, but it’s refined, without harshness or overpowering accords. Performance is decent, lasting hours without being too loud. For the price, you can’t ask for more. It’s getting good reviews, though subjectively it could become tiring.

  • It doesn’t list in the notes, but it undeniably features cypress, because this Elevated Oud is very similar to an Alberto Morillas masterpiece: Gucci Guilty Absolute. Leather, cypress, citrus, and woods. Compared to Guilty, the projection drops noticeably, and it sweetens significantly in the drydown. It lasts about 7 hours with good projection for the first two. If Guilty is restrictive, this expands its versatility exponentially, adapting to many scenarios, preferably in fresh weather. P.S.: I see it’s already out of stock on Zara’s website since launch. It’s not recommended to buy blind; it might not appeal to many people. Essential to try it in-store.

  • Alberto Morillas takes his well-known base used in perfumes like Gucci Guilty Absolute, Gucci Voice of the Snake, Kilian’s Dark Lord, Jo Malone Bronze Wood & Leather, Phillip Plein, Bulgari Terrae Essence, etc., and gives it a citrus top, a sweet heart that isn’t cloying, and an amber-dusty base. I think it’s excellent; in my case, it lasted more than ten hours and projected with great force at the beginning. If you like those perfumes I mentioned, go for it. This composition is sold by a designer house and you won’t find it for less than €60, and if you go niche, they’ll charge you €200 without blinking.

  • Maybe Zara’s crown jewel. Their scents usually smell top-tier but fade in a breath, like the famous ‘Vibrant Leather’. Here the script changes: ‘Elevated Oud’ amps up the oud with citrus, and the incredible part is that it lasts and projects way more than the rest of the brand. With Alberto Morillas behind it, it couldn’t be anyone else. Repeat: possibly the best of Zara.

  • Alberto Morillas takes a base he’s already used in Gucci Guilty Absolute, Voice of the Snake, Kilian’s Dark Lord, Jo Malone, and others, and adds a citrus top, a sweet heart that doesn’t get cloying, and an ambered, dusty dry down. I think it’s excellent; in my case, it lasted over ten hours and projected strongly at the start. If you like those kinds of perfumes, buy it. It’s a designer fragrance and costs under 60 euros, whereas in niche you’d get ripped off at 200 without mercy.

  • It smells great, both in the opening and the dry down. The bad part is the longevity: I have to reapply it 20 times, and it disappears from my skin quickly, in 2-3 hours. It lasts longer on clothes but doesn’t project. It’s a shame; otherwise, I would buy two bottles.

  • Possibly the best perfume from Zara. Their fragrances always have good aromas, but the performance is low, bordering on terrible; see the case of ‘Vibrant Leather’, with an extraordinary scent but it lasts less than a TV news broadcast and has a meager sillage. Elevated Oud is another story: it elevates the Oud note through citrus. It basically smells like Oud and citrus, but the amazing part is that it lasts, performs, and projects much more than any other Zara fragrance. With Alberto Morillas as the perfumer, I didn’t expect anything else. I repeat: possibly the best perfume from Zara.

  • It’s quite different from what Zara usually releases and from current trends. But for me, being different doesn’t mean it’s good (at least in this case). I’ve tried it several times, and it’s very difficult for my nose, so it’s hard for others to perceive it and like it. The opening and heart have a note, presumably the oud, that I really dislike. Then, in the full dry down, it leaves a quite pleasant aroma. It’s a pity it’s not to my liking because it has excellent performance and notable longevity. You can tell there’s a good fixative.

If a tree could poop, it would smell like this. Anecdote: it’s irresistible to dogs, no joke, maybe because of the wood scent? Everyone approaches and looks at me with desire. I’ve gotten looks from girls, not sure if they were favorable or not. I asked trusted women and they said it smells like dusty wood. No compliments or complaints. Obviously, it’s not my taste. Test before buying if your taste matches mine. And if you do buy, watch out for the canines, in case they use you to mark their territory.

  • I bought it at a good price; it has excellent performance in projection and sillage; on my skin, it lasts more than 10 hours. Just for oud lovers.

I tried it a few months ago when it launched; among the Oud line, it was the one I liked the most, and I was surprised by the longevity… it passed the night test and almost the whole day. Today I stopped by Zara and ran into the last bottle of Elevated Oud at €12.99. Needless to say, I took it home… at that price, it would be a crime not to. A difficult fragrance for the general public… not typical ‘designer’ scents… you have to acquire a taste for this type of fragrance… and even then, they’re not everyone’s cup of tea. It’s not for blind buying. In my case, I love it… having Gucci Guilty Absolute (also by Morillas), this one is much more wearable.

  • I really liked it; it was a surprise because I was expecting something difficult, as some said. I’ve used it three times, going to Zara to apply it. The issue: I see the ridiculous price they have in Europe; here in Chile it’s around €37, so I’ll only buy it if they put it on sale.

  • First off, nothing like Oud for Greatness; I don’t smell the oud (maybe a faint trace) nor the sweetness. Second, it has a lot in common with Gucci Guilty Absolute and No Limits by PP: it’s mainly leather (even if they don’t list it), but with very prominent citrus notes. The dry down is strong leather that fades to give way to those surprising citrus notes (I expected something sweeter/woodier). These notes last a long time alongside the leather base that dominates until the final dry down. It evolves as leather-citrus (leather base)-leather. To me, it feels closer to No Limits than Guilty, but with those citrus notes taking the lead, it distances itself from both and feels original, even if they didn’t reinvent the wheel. Longevity and projection are fair right out of the box; we’ll see how it holds up over time. For the price, it’s an interesting bet from Zara.

A bold and high-quality fragrance. It opens with a powerful citrus blast and a dark oud, then transitions into a sweet phase where praline shines and the citrus remains, with a medicinal hint in the oud; it reminds me a bit of Baccarat Rouge 540. As it dries down, it becomes woody with sandalwood, patchouli, and vanilla. It’s distinct and beautiful.

The comparison with Gucci Guilty Absolute has no basis. I compared them side by side, and GGA is complex and challenging (in fact, I tested it with my family and everyone preferred the Zara scent over Gucci’s). Elevated Oud is much sweeter and less challenging; in my opinion, it’s quite versatile for cold climates, suitable for both office and formal events or dates. It’s a pity they’re pulling it, so if you get a chance, grab one before it runs out to enjoy it at least once. What a perfume!

  • By far the best thing Zara has ever done. It’s a shame we know everything at Zara has an expiration date, and this one is already history. A Morillas jewel at a ridiculous price. A masterpiece!

  • The best Zara perfume. Luckily I could buy a pack of four bottles when the price dropped, knowing it looked like it wouldn’t last long in the sale. What a pity no more perfumes like this are coming out.

  • It’s a very special perfume, not for everyone. Definitely for parties, but not casual ones, only those where you dress well. I wouldn’t wear it on a date because the scent is a bit difficult, and I don’t think anyone would want to smell it up close for long. It lasts me between 6 and 8 hours. It’s very masculine; it smells like a man with a beard and a suit.

  • Emmanuel Rojas

It’s a perfume that might not please you at first, but that doesn’t take away from its magnificence; it’s a perfume in the truest sense, evolves beautifully, the dry-down is excellent, it projects, lasts, and is liked. The patchouli makes it complex yet charming and not too easy to grab.

  • Tomorrowsdust

Update: this perfume is beastly after maturation. Over 12 hours on skin at a ridiculous price. Zara brought niche quality within everyone’s reach; undoubtedly one of the brand’s best launches in years. Although the scent doesn’t convince me for daily wear (it feels very mature, only for cold weather dates or formal events), I won’t leave this bottle for anything unless they pay me a fortune. By the way, this has nothing to do with Gucci Guilty Absolute; in fact, as an owner of both, that comparison offends me. If Morillas hadn’t created both, they wouldn’t have dared compare them. This perfume has its own path, don’t fall for the hype looking for similarities where there are none. Update: I wore it to a night event and my dad noticed it from the other room. Since then it’s his, and he’s already gone through two bottles, now he’s heartbroken. It would be great if it comes back soon.

  • I’m not sure if it’s maturated enough yet, but this lasts forever with a spectacular wood and praline scent; over 10 hours and on clothes for several days. A real masterpiece by master Morillas.

  • For me, the best Zara perfume ever. It’s off the catalog now, but the good news is I have two bottles saved.

  • Exquisite fragrance, unfortunately discontinued… a true masterpiece Alberto Morillas created with this line.

  • An explosion of oud that brings back memories of early 2000s perfumes like Black XS or Armani Code; sweet but not heavy, more warm and cozy.
