Descripción
Zara's Dark Romance is an oriental vanilla fragrance for women. This creation, launched in 2024, unfolds a scent pyramid where a jasmine top note gives way to a heart of tonka bean and whipped cream, settling on a base of toffee and vanilla.

I happened to try it at Zara yesterday, and wow, another Bianco Latte.
Indeed, it’s another clear inspiration by Bianco Latte. Not as potent as the original, but it lasted over 6 hours on my skin with a moderate sillage. If you’re looking for something similar and within easy reach, here it is.
If you like caramel and sweet scents but not synthetic ones like Mercadona’s Monogotas, this is your perfume. I like it a lot for daily wear now in winter because it’s comforting; it’s good but not spectacular either.

I like this perfume but I don’t love it; it’s rich but I can’t quite decipher it, there’s something that bothers me, I don’t know, maybe I feel the vanilla is very generic, like cloying. I think I’ll give it a chance for a whole day and see how it goes.
No. I don’t feel any of the declared notes; at most, a kind of synthetic toffee that… meh, it doesn’t say anything to me. I bought it blind thinking it would be a sweet bomb, but no, it smells sweet in the worst sense of the word, artificial, bad. Besides, in the opening I notice it’s so alcoholic that it makes me wrinkle my nose. I wouldn’t buy it again.
The first thing that caught my attention was the dark amber bottle. I tested it in-store thinking it would be woody or leathery, but it was a pleasant surprise to find out it wasn’t. Personally, I think it’s a very sweet scent but not cloying at all; I even perceive a slight freshness. It also has moderate sillage and longevity (I applied it at 8 PM, and it was still noticeable until 2 AM the next day, though not as intense). I can’t distinguish the notes separately; I only detect a very intense and sweet caramel, which doesn’t bother me since I enjoy it quite a bit. I haven’t tried the BL, but I do have a dupe of this one, and indeed, they’re quite similar, but this one has something that sets it apart. I think it’s that it smells more like caramel than white chocolate. It’s appropriate for any season, but depending on the time of day (in cold weather it’s good all day, and in warm weather I think it would only be suitable for evenings).

I like it but I don’t love it, though I think it could be pleasant for most people. I recommended it to a friend who was looking for ‘that Starbucks smell.’ Smelling the bottle without spraying it, she liked it more than Zara’s Cocoa. It’s creamy but not cloying, despite having toffee notes. It’s one of those scents that sometimes I’d feel like wearing, but it wouldn’t be my signature perfume.
I tried it at Zara today, and honestly, it’s an interesting perfume. The opening didn’t like it at all; I expected something very sweet, but on my skin it was the opposite, feeling like very bitter vanilla. But the dry-down was completely different: vanilla with just the right sweetness and a definite touch of jasmine, though no other notes. It felt very similar to Supreme Vanilla because that’s the note that stands out most on my skin, but I’d like to keep testing it. If you’re looking for a milky perfume, this definitely isn’t it, but it’s still very rich.

I bought it blind, expecting a dark and sexy scent. My surprise was that on my skin it smells like menthol. No mint notes at all, but it smells like menthol, very strange. If you know Blistex lip balm, it smells exactly like that. It’s strangely fresh and sweet; if this isn’t what you’re looking for, definitely don’t buy it.
It’s a caramel latte with vanilla cream and jasmine. Sweet and sensual. I like it, though the vanilla gets a bit synthetic. Good longevity. In the dry-down, it’s like if Amber Romance and Bare Vanilla from Victoria’s Secret had a baby.
I wanted it ever since it launched, but I hesitated because I couldn’t find testers whenever I went to Zara until one day I finally grabbed one and bought it. It didn’t convince me 100% at first; I felt it was just a common gourmand. But a few weeks ago I wore it, and it turned into a delight. Like everything from the brand, it has great projection and longevity. It’s a dark gourmand fragrance as its name suggests; the notes I smell most are toffee, tonka bean, whipped cream, and vanilla, and I don’t detect any jasmine at all.

They’ve discontinued it, and I’m devastated. There’s nothing like it. I don’t care if they say it’s not an exact copy of Bianco Latte; this one was better. It was dark but very sweet, not cloying at all; everyone who got close to me loved it. It’s my favorite perfume, and I’ll never forgive Zara for betraying me. I didn’t know it was a limited edition and would disappear so quickly. In Spain, 80ml cost around 20€. I need it no matter what; I can’t live without it since I first knew about it. It’s youthful without being childish, with a slightly more mature and very elegant touch. If you’ve ever been in a very old, abandoned house with dust, the opening smells similar, then it turns into a little cake. It was truly indescribably good. I’ll treasure my last 4ml no matter what.
