This is my favorite vanilla: very natural, with bean and seeds, nothing pastry-like or overly sweet. Citrus notes from the house dominate at first. As it dries, the neroli and jasmine blend into a soft, silky mix. The black bottle version isn’t quite the same, though they end up similar; here the notes feel more natural. In the latest reformulation, I detect a synthetic ingredient that screams in my nose, like the screaming worm from The Simpsons, and it won’t stop until after two hours. My partner wears it well in winter; it smells more woody but just as pleasant. It’s a fragrance that hugs you and surprises you in coat collars and scarves; you step out on those crisp autumn days with a big smile, smelling better than anyone else.
My favorite vanilla. It smells very natural; you can feel the pod and the seeds, it’s high quality and nothing pastry-like. Citrus from the house dominates at first. As it dries, you notice the neroli and jasmine, but the blend is soft and silky. I tried the black version and it’s not the same; eventually they resemble each other, but here the notes are more natural. In the latest reformulation, I detect a synthetic ingredient that screams in my nose, like the screaming gnat from The Simpsons, that won’t shut up until after two hours. My partner also wears it in winter and it smells more woody to him, but just as good. It’s one of those fragrances that hugs you; you’re surprised by it on the collar of a wool coat or scarf, you step out on those crisp autumn days with a big smile and smelling better than anyone else.
The ADP Vaniglia Cologne smells very natural and high-quality, just like Rizzada says. It starts with a citrusy cologne touch and a dominant vanilla from the very beginning, with white flowers (jasmine to my nose) that give it creaminess and freshness. Then it dries down and the vanilla becomes a bit ‘crunchy’ without losing its spotlight. I like it more than the new black bottle version because here vanilla is the star and doesn’t get lost among neroli, jasmine, or musk like in the EDP. I think it’s unisex, perfect for cold weather, with great longevity and projection. It’s a luxury that’s disappearing; all the colognes in this line are top-tier. I’d get it, though I prefer other vanillas like Eau Duelle by Diptyque, but it’s worth trying. Rating: 8/10.
The ADP Colonia Vaniglia smells super natural and high-quality, just like Rizzada says. It opens with a citrusy cologne note and a dominant vanilla from start to finish, accented by white flowers (jasmine to my nose) that add creaminess and freshness. As it dries down, the vanilla gets a bit ‘crunchy’ without losing its spotlight. I prefer this over the black bottle version because here vanilla is the queen, not competing with neroli, jasmine, or musk like in the EDP. I think it’s unisex, perfect for cold weather, with great longevity and projection for any occasion. It’s a shame this cologne line is disappearing because they all have killer quality. I’d consider buying it, but I prefer other vanilla scents like Diptyque’s Eau Duelle, though it’s definitely worth trying at least. Rating: 8/10
Beautiful and original vanilla. The ADP DNA goes completely unnoticed against a vanilla note that’s distinct from the generic kind found in other scents like Van Py Rhum. In the end, there’s a very prominent musk. It’s not gourmand or sexy like Babycat; here, the vanilla is velvety, supportive, and never cloying. Super versatile (as long as it’s not scorching hot) and totally unisex. I found it discontinued and it was a blind buy success. If you can get your hands on it, don’t hesitate.
Beautiful and original vanilla. The ADP DNA is very subtle, featuring a vanilla distinct from others I’ve tried (unlike Van Py Rhum, which felt generic), followed by a noticeable musk. It doesn’t smell gourmand or sexy like Babycat or RM5; instead, it’s velvety, supportive, and not cloying. I see it as super versatile (as long as it’s not extreme heat) and totally unisex. It’s discontinued, I found it, and it was a great blind buy. If you have the chance to try it, don’t hesitate.
