  1. JavierSantana

Brutal citrus opening, whether natural or luxury synthetic. The drydown hits with such powerful oakmoss that it reminded me of the vintage Paco Rabanne Pour Homme formula; this one absolutely crushes it. Floral notes and well-soapy musk, with a spicy and sweet touch, like there’s hidden honey. It’s exquisite: basically PRPH with a modern twist—cleaner but with a more aggressive drydown similar to the original. I thought about selling it, but I’m left with a great taste in my mouth XD

Incredible perfume with a point similar to Neroli Portofino, but here the neroli sits a bit further back. In this one, the neroli feels distinctly masculine and very rich

The opening took me straight back to my childhood: the scent of colognes given out at birthdays. In Argentina, Colonia Pibes and Paco were common; it instantly reminded me of one of them, I’m not sure which. It’s a very strong citrus, I imagine lemon or bergamot. Then the drydown changes completely and the neroli appears; I like it more there because it stops smelling like cheap kid’s cologne. It has one downside: longevity. I don’t think it lasted more than two hours

Citrus and neroli opening, slightly green. Reminded me of the distant past with Puig’s Quorum, that rich, vintage, earthy/mossy, and green facet. However, it’s well-balanced; it doesn’t feel old or heavy like Quorum, just a slight nostalgic echo in the drydown. The drydown is less sparkling than the opening and feels more balanced; the neroli fades and the citrus settles way below. It feels soapy but classic. It’s rich and delicious, though the green notes might deter some younger folks, it’s timeless or for everyone. Basically a rich, clean white soapy/floral scent, but I’d prefer the neroli to be the dominant note over jasmine. For now, I’d stick with Wood Neroli by Bvlgari, despite its zero longevity

  5. Summer cologne. It’s not long-lasting or projecty, but it delivers 100%. You have to get to know it and understand it; judging it based on a quick sniff in a perfumery or from a decant will lead you astray. It needs continuous wear to reveal its true magic. A citrus opening that doesn’t overwhelm (I hate excessive citrus), with a floral dry-down and a very close, soapy finish that leaves you smelling fresh and clean. Anyone can wear it, but it leans serious. In this extreme heat, it’s a perfect fit. Addictive.

I’m 35 and have had a significant collection for 8 years; for me, ADP Essenza is a classic among classics. I think Essenza and Colonia Pura are my favorites

  7. Azor84

I own about 40 perfumes, mixing niche and designer; this might just be my favorite. Every time I spray Aqua di Parma Essenza, it hits me hard. Maybe it’s the one that evokes the most feelings. How can something be this good? Elegant, mature, discreet, polished, neutral, gentlemanly, neat, perfect. The notes are incredibly natural and high-quality. After the initial citrus and Mediterranean floral opening, it settles into a soapy dry-down that I can only describe as exquisite. It’s impossible for anyone to dislike this or not feel good wearing it. An adult scent. It rules the office. Ideal for making a great first impression. Great for good weather, but works indoors year-round. Lasts about six hours. You can use 10 sprays without bothering anyone. Good longevity on clothes. It’s a joy to reapply. This is a perfume I’ll keep buying. To conclude, once you start appreciating scents like ADP Essenza, you start seeing ‘beast mode’ perfumes differently (maybe even as pretentious) because their presence completely overshadows everything.

Essenza di Colonia by Acqua di Parma was my first niche fragrance, and I couldn’t have chosen better to start this olfactory journey. From the start, I felt something different: it doesn’t try to impress with power, but with class, balance, and refinement. The opening is bright: vibrant, clean Italian citrus with an energy that conveys natural elegance. As it settles, woody notes emerge, along with a slightly musky base that gives it body without losing freshness. It’s like wearing a perfectly ironed white shirt or walking into a classic tailor shop: sober, confident, impeccable. Regarding performance, I was pleasantly surprised. It’s not a beast mode, but its clean, distinguished trail lasts for hours, especially in warm climates where it shines. Essenza has that aura of a ‘contemporary gentleman,’ ideal for those who value discretion with class. It opened the door to niche for me, and even after trying many others, it still holds a special place. A fragrance that never goes out of style.

  9. This Essenza loses the very essence of the house. It’s a fragrance of undeniable quality that I understand most will like. However, in my opinion, it strays from the usual lightness of Italian colognes. It’s more substantial, formal, and mature than what I look for in an Acqua di Parma cologne. In short, it’s more of a perfume than a cologne. For sunny summer days, certainly, my body craves another fragrance.

To put it simply, it smells like a well-made cologne: elegant, refined, not aggressive, with a decent longevity. A marvel.

  11. Bought it for my collection and it bears a striking resemblance to Tom Ford’s Neroli Portofino. It’s a citrus bomb, and that’s what I notice immediately. The neroli is present from start to finish. I’ve heard many ‘reviewers’ talk about ingredient quality; I didn’t care much, thinking they were pretentious… but to be fair, when I put it on my skin, it brought back very real memories of my grandmother’s citrus tree scent. It was identical—very fresh and authentic (now I understand what quality means). Wonderful. The bottle is gorgeous and elegant, though I was surprised by how small the 100ml packaging is. If my budget allows, I’ll keep exploring Acqua di Parma. Longevity and sillage are average: about 1 hour of sillage and 4-6 hours of wear. Definitely for daily use. Note: don’t buy blind; at first sniff, it can smell like floor cleaner, so I recommend getting a decant first.

Unlike its sibling Acqua di Parma Colonia, this one is more my taste, both because of its higher citrus load and because that soapy note that clashes so much isn’t noticeable here. Good cologne, though I think there are better options at a fairer price.

  13. I bought it blind based on good reviews. They described it as a mature fragrance for a neat, reliable man. I went for it and failed. It seemed quite floral with a strong alcohol scent. I perceive it as an average cologne, similar to what my grandfathers used to refresh themselves. Nothing special.

  14. In perfumery, there are archetypes that follow fixed patterns. Colonies are one of them. This Acqua di Parma Essenza could be the pinnacle, simply the best fragrance of this type. A citrus aroma combined with neroli as it should be. Vivid, sparkling but not piercing citrus notes, rounded off by an extraordinary musk that polishes the edges and gives it substance. The rest of the notes are appreciated and complemented masterfully. Although the scent description doesn’t define everything, its quality is extraordinary. What stands out most are the sensations and presence: it brings vigor and joy with the citrus, but also calm and serenity with the neroli. It’s a joy to wear on any occasion, and with the right outfit, it denotes great elegance. It lifts your mood and makes you feel good, ideal for making a good impression without trying to be the center of attention, projecting neutrality but closeness. There are few aromas of such quality with such pleasant sensations. A very special perfume; in my case, a must-have. Regards.

The mentioned notes are real. It smells very masculine and with great presence, with floral and citrus notes that make it smell like a vintage school barbershop. Longevity: excellent 9/10. Projection: good 7/10. Scent: excellent, an elegant and fine smell totally masculine 10/10.

It’s a scent that requires a specific attitude and attire, not just a certain age. I’m 24 and bought it because I love smelling fresh and woody. I notice it’s citrusy, as if I were carrying a bag of citrus fruits, and everyone who tried it loved it. It’s like walking near the beach, feeling that fresh scent, and enjoying a lemonade. Over time, it changes and seems to transport me to a garden. Sincerely, I give it 9/10; in my opinion, it could use a bit more strength to be fully noticeable, but that might make it harder to wear. However, it’s a masterpiece.

Hello. Let’s start with the negative: it’s an eye-watering price. I’m sure the Louis Vuitton group has a lot to do with the final cost. To my defense, I got the 150ml bottle for under €100, which is my ceiling for any fragrance. Anything above that seems like a rip-off. Now the positive: spectacular opening with a carousel of citrus notes, followed by wild, potent, and dense white floral notes. Spiced finish where clove and amber lead the way. Optimal performance for a cologne. On my skin, it lasts 6 hours with a short-range projection of 1 hour. The bottle has exquisite design, and contrary to many reviews, I think that clear, simple white label is very fitting, giving it an artisan and antique air. It gratifies me. It’s a Mediterranean, classic, soapy fragrance, and for me, unisex. In fact, my wife uses it as much or more than I do. Suitable for all year, day and night, very versatile. In short, a cologne of very high quality in composition and notes that earns a top mark, undoubtedly becoming the best in the entire brand catalog. Rating: 9.5/10.

  18. If you already have it and like to try something new, try layering a spray of this with Magnolia Infinita. They combine to create a totally different, unisex/masculine perfume. A spectacle.

  19. Amalfi Station - Youtube

Hello, I’m Mike from the YouTube channel Amalfi Station. Essenza Cologne is, in my opinion, one of the best colognes on the market. It’s a perfume that evolves a lot from start to finish but in a very balanced way. Normally, colognes have an explosive opening to become flat immediately after the initial citrus burst, but that doesn’t happen with Essenza. It has a lot of bright and clean notes, but at the same time, it has a gray tone, some darker and deeper facets than classic colognes. It has a marked Mediterranean character, its notes are perceived as extremely high quality, and the whole ensemble feels very natural. Smelling this perfume is like walking in a sunny Italian orchard. It immediately makes you happy and revitalizes you; it’s a breath of air that caresses you as if you were wearing a silk shirt.

  20. Jomasa

Caught an 80s vibe similar to Vorago, but finer and more potent. Basically a remake of the original with no new notes, yet the quality gives it class. Smells citrus-neroli and woody-mossy, typical of cologne: the opening doesn’t evolve. Lasts 4-5 hours on skin, projecting for about 40 minutes before settling. Note that other AdP colognes last an hour less. Worth the price only if you’re looking for a quality cologne. Try it before buying.

  21. Perfu_Manu

For me, it’s the best AdP cologne in terms of scent and longevity. It takes those typical fresh citrus notes and adds florals that soften them, making it more elegant and distinguished than the rest of the brand’s lineup.

It doesn’t smell bad; it’s a standard, pleasant, semi-formal cologne scent, but like almost everything from the brand, the longevity is quite short.

  23. Carcanuelo

If anyone thought AdP was still living off the original cologne, this Essenza fixed that: it’s a new cologne adapted for the 21st century and improved in every way. It has the best citrus opening on the market, impressive. You can tell the quality of the ingredients even to untrained noses. It keeps the classic DNA but with more depth and without that previous ‘simplicity.’ It’s citrusy but not sharp, soft with the neroli, soapy, and elegant as it dries. If Nio by Xerjoff screams, this one speaks with a quality that makes you shut up. It’s elegant, neat, and more wearable than the original, suitable almost all year round except the coldest days. Ideal for formal or semi-formal situations as a signature scent. One of the best colognes in the world. Nothing to do with Tom Ford’s Neroli Portofino.

  25. I don’t think I’m the only one who doesn’t like it. I bought it blind because all the reviews were raving, and I took a risk… mistake. It doesn’t smell ‘bad’; you just need to appreciate these scents, but I can’t stand those baby powder cologne smells. If you like that, add neroli. To top it off, once I wore it, someone indirectly asked if I’d sprayed insecticide. I’ve tried it several times and it just doesn’t convince me. Hope I don’t get hate, just warning anyone who might make my mistake.

  26. A beast of a cologne… the father of the little chicks. I don’t use it much because it’s the one my dad uses the most and I’ve already associated it with him, but honestly, it’s the one I like most from the house. It’s the perfect example of what a cologne can achieve: a neat, Italian gentleman scent, like a godfather.

  27. FJavier perfumes

AdP Essenza cologne: a captivating, elegant, and very masculine scent that maintains the classic DNA with vigorous citrus, a herbal touch, and floral accords, especially the dominant neroli. It’s a mature scent, for men over 30, seeking sophistication and good taste rather than loudness. Lasts about 6-7 hours without a strong trail, but with a contained projection that stands out. I strongly recommend it for those who want to receive compliments. Not for casual use, but for semi-formal or superior situations, with a good suit or white shirt. An exceptional fragrance, neat, correct, and with an Italian seal that should be in your collection.
